We need to look at the people that don't need guns.The criminals don't care about no one.All they care about is hurting the innocent.We the law abiding citizen have the right to protect ourselfs.By taking our rights away and take our guns away is not going to stop crime.We go by the rules ,but the criminals don't play by the rules so why should we pay for what the criminals,gangbangers and the insane people do.I've gone through some hard times to where I could used the money and never thought about robbing a gas station or a store to get money.I went and worked for the money.I know some people that will do anything even kill and thats why my guns are locked up out of reach of these people.The govorment needs to after the bad people not the law abiding citizens.I can't wait for Illinois to pass the concealed weapon law.If the goverment want to dissarm the insane people.They need to make it like they do the driver license give you a book and make you study and take a test to see if you pass it.But that don't stop the criminals and the gangbangers.Either way it still hurts the law abidding citizens.We must fight to protect ourselves.

The above guote 'from' George Washington is a much coveted "BOGUS" fabrication. I know because I too fell victim to embracing it until I stumbled upon a collection of presidential addresses to Congress. Please don't feel this is a critisism, it is not. I just feel with 'all' truth on the side of the legal ownership of firearms, defenders of that right need not use the tactics of our lying enemies.

Albany N.Y. times union page B3, story about tripel shooting , the 3 men that were shot have all been arrested on weapons charges!but they are on the street, i have other articles about man shoots someone while he is out on parole for illegal weapons chg ???yeah we got it all in the great capitol of NYS no prison time and all the guns were hand guns not registered. so punish the guilty dont punish me.

It seems most people don't know that it was British attempts and gun control that finally broke the camel's back and touch off the American Revolution. British General Thomas Gage went about Boston, breaking into peoples' homes to confiscate privately-owned firearms, looking for hidden cannon and gunpowder. The colonists probably realized that if Gage disarmed them, they'd have no way to resist British oppression.
The Founding Fathers spoke almost to the man in defense of private firearms ownership. By their actions, the liberal gun-haters literally spit on the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights and set at nought everything the Founders said in favor of private ownership. Hillary, Sarah Brady, Obama, Ted Kennedy and the rest would prefer you remained ignorant of what the Founders said about the matter.

I got my first bb gun at 6. I carried a .45 for years as a civilian. The last encounter I had with a drugged gang member in my house at 2AM was to remove the gun from him and then call the police. Since then I have studied a little history.
Here's a history lesson on taking guns from the people because of gun safety. The Soviet Union established 'gun safety' in 1929. From 1929 to 1953, 45 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated."

I disagree. I am a gun owner and concealed carry licensee. I believe that there should be efforts to restrict mentally-deranged people from legally buying guns. I also believe that concealed carry should be allowed everywhere that there is not a controlled entry with a metal detector and heavy armed police presence. Otherwise, the "gun-free" zone is more of a "free shooting zone" for the bad guys. It is not so much that everyone is carrying weapons, I just don't care to guarantee the bad guy that they are good to go in certain areas.
I support current concealed carry legislation which is typically limited to age 21 or over, which avoids the concern about high-school students carrying to school. I believe if a 21 yr old college student is responsible enough to be entrusted to carry a concealed weapon to the grocery store and potentially stop a mass murder, then he/she should not have those rights stripped when crossing the border of a college campus.
I appreciate your argument of family squabbles resulting in the retrieval of a convenient gun and a killing. However, I think the problem here is a lack of value for human life, not the gun. I believe that if there were not a gun there, that person would surely take a knife, or tire iron, or golf club, and take the life of the innocent person. To take away my right to self defense in hopes that it will prevent that murder is a long reach. If the defender is a law abiding citizen though, your wishes would insure that he (or more likely she) would not be able to defend herself.
Unfortunately for your argument, concealed carry is available in most states now and the predicted massacres have simply not happened. And there are a small number of serious, responsible gun owners who are willing to go through the steps necessary to obtain such a license. The irresponsible ones may just carry without getting the license, even "good guys" who may not have all that much concern with the law. So, by taking away legal concealed carry, you take away the rights of the most responsible people to carry a weapon and possibly save your life someday.
It is not a cowardly act of government to protect our constitutional rights. It is the courageous people of America (after all our government IS "we the people") who believe that our constitution means something and that will not let our rights, which were gained through the bloodshed of many, be whisked away with false dreams and wishes of a gun-free America.

No such thing! It prohibits disclosure to non-law enforcement personnel such as newpapers trying to discover and expose CCW holders.
I am sure there are many responsible gun owners. But what is overshadowing that are the people purchasing guns legally who shouldn't even be allowed a pointed pencil.
Everyday there is another pointless killing, often in families going through hard times. These are not criminals, but they are people who have easy access to guns because they own them.
We have got to start looking at who is purchasing guns because it has became a common resort to use it whenever there is anger or depression or drug use or family problems. I would think that the many responsible gun owners out there would be leading the movement to stop letting guns go into the hands of people who are using them to murder our own children.
Sad to say, this is not true. Gun owners are thinking only of themselves in the most callous, selfish manner. There are other amendments, and people in this country have a right to walk around without fear of being harmed. Arming everyone is the most ridiculous, self serving idea and if you think it's such a great one...you go into a classroom of students where you sit there while they take out their gun and try to aim at a target (all sixty to hundred of them because that is often a college classroom today).
Oh, I know, you would just take out your gun too.
We don't just have a gun epidemic, we have a stupid epidemic nationwide. Too bad our government is too cowardly and more concerned with staying in office than with protecting Americans.

Do you think that maybe the drugs Prozac and others cause these physcopaths to go crazy? Do you really think that sending these troops over to Iraq in a false war and have them come back insane doesn't cause this? I mean come on my wife was car jacked the other day! Do you think that having a gun to protect herself wouldn't have stop this? I'm sick and tired of these wimps blaming the good citizens of America for a few nut brains who use unregistered guns to commit crimes! I'm tired of it Wake the hell before its too late! The gov can cause aids that kills million's through vaccines and nobody say anything not one thing. You had a clinic who knowingly gave Hep C and aids to thousands in Las Vegas and no one says anything! whats really going on. We got chemtrails being sprayed on us daily Causing respiratory problems, drought, and unexplainable weahter using Haarp, the epidemic flu virus that's going around and no ones says anything. The feds are crashing the dollar on purpose people are losing their job on a mass scale. Do you think crime wont go up? Do you see where I'm going with this people Wake up!
