Michelle Obama Makes Military Families Her Mission

What to do?

My husband has 18yrs in the US Army 7and a half of them active and 11 and half reserve,for the last 7yrs he has had to travel to Texas from New Mexico on our dime. My husband is hard working as a NCO a father,husband and a lead in the medical field as a civilian.He's always taking care of others and will work over time to make sure his drill travel money doesn't take away from his family. We pay for plane fair,car rental,food and hotel stay just about every mo.witch comes out to be about $600 to $700 each time. He has try-ed to move to our State for his drills but it seems that when he moves up in rank there's less room for him in a closer unit. He will go out of town and take care of his obligation till he gets to his 20yrs. But it just seems that no one is really willing to work with him and the travel.We don't get all the money back in our taxes we just get to give money and more time. I just hate to see him stress over missing time when we don't always have the money for him to go and just the stress over the travel. He would never just quit because that's not him and he has to much time in but sometimes it is just to much. I'm so proud of him and all he gives us and our Country.

If Mrs. Obama and her "patriotic" husband are so military minded........why no service on their part in the past? These people have no respect for our military and their families.

THis article tells us she is doing nothing of any value to really help families of the military,,anyone can meet with a few here and there,,just another loser in the obama family she is! No wonder ,now they both get an F for performance! She isn't and hasn't done a single thing to help them or anyone but herself! Loser!

I would really like to see M. Obama & a few others up on the hill, to try and make it in the world with Just a DIC Pension.

I've been threogh Bankruptcy, losing my house, & alot of other misery since my Veteran husband passed away @ VA Hospital, due to them taking him off meds, that he should of been wiened off of. He was in VietNam came home with a parasite that gave him Guillian Barre Symdrome, heart problems & more. He died of Isachemic heart shock, I believe from Agent Orange.We widows cannot make it & I'am beginning to believe that is what the Government wants.The Government shouls give us all a heafty raise that we can survive on.Instead of barely making it.And not even being able to buy alittle something extra that we may not need but would like to have. After all OUR Husbands GAVE ALL foe this Nation & they were promised alot, We deserve more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Obama may say she cares but she in fact has done nothing to support the survivors of the fallen other than say a few sympathetic words. If she does care, she should get her HUSBAND to support military survivors by including the financial legislative issues which were approved by the House and Senate but did not make it into the budget.There is no money to pay survivors the benefits they earned and deserve which are unfairly taxed. Survivors have no voice, no clout and the government does not care for its widows and orphans properly. Death indemnity compensation is only $1154 a month and it hasn't been increased since 1993. Who can live on that? Is that all a life is worth? Nevermind raise, educate and provide basic sustanence as single parent.

Airlines and the military

As a mother of a marine I am appalled that commercial airlines do not give a better break to servicemen trying to fly home to visit their families. Military flight discount is a joke at 10% and most of the time it is cheaper to book through other venues. It is a disgrace that they charge such an exorbitant change flight fee. Most military personnel do not have the luxury of being able to book a flight 30 days in advance to get the best rate. And if they do it is inevitable that something will change by then and the flight has to be changed. Why can't there be a decent flat rate for military to fly and if their leave gets changed they should automatically waive the change fee. The only way they say they will waive the fee is if they have a letter stating their orders are changed. Obviously they are clueless thinking that is gonna happen. Besides a leave change is different than their orders changing. I wish Michelle Obama would do something about this horrendous situation. When my son came back from Afghanistan his flight for him to come home to see us cost almost $800 dollars. Ridiculous.

REALLY?

I think some research needs to be done on this article. Mrs. Obama has NOT done anything for the military or at least for any Fallen Soldier's Families. She and her husband BLEW a convention with over two thousand families that either ARE in the military or have LOST a loved one. We are one of those families...and NO ONE from this administration showed up to say hello or go to hell or whatever. NOTHING at all. I even wrote to Mrs. Obama a while ago and got nothing back from her.

I do not want to be represented by her. She does NOT care about us nor does she know how we feel. SHE never will nor will her husband.

SO, do check things out before articles like this are written and make sure you know about BOTH parties involved.

It is a slap in our faces and I am at least glad to see both of the former presidents did at least do a video for us. Thank you for those who care and REALLY care. Mrs. Obama does NOT.

Please leave our military families alone. Go and save the whales or hug a tree or better yet....GO AWAY! Our U.S.service men and women truly love this country that your husband despises so greatly! GO AWAY!

Military Sacrafices & Obama our worst enemy

I am the widow of a career Marine, who served from 1955-1986 then passed away from cancer in 1989 after just 2 1/2 yrs of Retirement. I have grown tired of hearing civilians complain about our "Benefits" & Obama undercutting us. The Military Member earns his pay & medical benefits by freely putting his life on the line 365 days a year 24/7 while standing a really good chance of being killed, to protect our country and the freedoms our citizens enjoy! We wives become Mother/Father, plumbers, electricians, mechanics to keep things together for up to 15 months alone at a time. This is our choice. We love the man so manage as the military wife. A lot of military are on food stamps. When we began, there was nothing like food stamps, we had less than $150.00 a month and I can still cook hamgerger 100 different ways.I resent Obama and his wife thinking they can cozy up to military members and blow smoke, while Obama is wanting to take away what rights we have left, like Health Insurance. This is an individual who never served this country until he became a Senator, then didnt even bother to vote 99% of the time. He needs to just stand down until he is voted out in 2012 along with his cronies who would trash our country and destroy our military! These people serve freely Mr.Obama! They are protecting your butt! We are a sharp group and do not buy the lies you are spouting to try to retract your earlier throat cutting comments. My personal opinion is that you are the absolute worst excuse for a president we ever seen in the White House! With God's help, yes Mr. Obama, contrary to your loudly stated position, we ARE still a Christian nation, we will survive your arrival on the scene and will get our wonderful country back on track after you, Pelosi, Reid and others are gone!!! Leave our military alone! A leader you are not!
