People want to hear and see him, how can some of you deny that. Will these entertainers white or Afro American volunteer their services to W? I doubt it. The great number of Americans even those who voted for McCain is optimistic.Why not, this country was raped financially by the outgoing administration who I believe should be charged for their missdeeds and lies.I hope that Obama will appoint and independent commission to investigate all lies and more lies the financial shenanigans they created. MTV idols unnecessary

While celebrity endorsements along with Barack Obama’s “star quality” heightened his popularity among many younger generational voters, it was not the reason he was elected. After being criticized for being a celebrity himself by McCain, Obama is not proving otherwise with this extravagant celebration. This is a historical night and does not require the excessive lineup of MTV icons in order to be remembered. Acknowledging the younger generation is important but so is maintaining the strong image of the American president that the older generations have worked to uphold and have come to respect.

With so many people hurting all the dollars spent on the glitz of the coming weeks Washington parties could be used elsewhere. HOLLYWOOD perhaps could help bail out their own state since they like to do things for good causes.

Americans celebrating with Americans

This is shaping up to be a fine inaugural celebration of hope and a better future for America and the world. Many of these entertainers/artists are Americans, and have a right to honor their president. Many are from the international community, and this is wonderful too. Hopefully we can reach past our job titles and celebrate together, this exciting, transformational time in history.

A Private Star Power Celebration!!!

I plan upon having my own private star powered celebration, not with celebrities but with the 50 stars on my personal flag which I haven't displayed for the past two years. Two years ago I decided that after the flawed response to 9/11, Abu Ghraib, Katrina, Valerie Plame, stop-loss, torture, slashed veterans benefits and poorly armored battle equipment in a war theatre, it was no longer appropriate to display my flag as my nation's leadership obviously did not respect our Constitution, our citizens, nor our brave troops. At 10AM MST on Tuesday morning, I will once again hang my flag with the promise of a new President dedicated to our nation, our citizens and our Constitution. I need not any celebrity input only the pledge of our new President to protect that which we hold dear. It has been a long time coming!!!

Demonize much?

The demonization of entertainers and the entertainment industry is a common right talking point -- an effort to play the eternal victim while spreading never-ending divisiveness. As we move away from the Bush years, this type of behavior will hopefully disappear.

And unfornately, you're hoping to see his presidency fail to be proven right which is disgusting and unpatriotic. Most people--most sane people--want him to succeed, even if they didn't vote for him, just because he has been handed a complete MESS of a nation. We cannot afford to do worse than we have under Bush's administration. We won't survive if we sink any lower.

Obama already has a star quality, he doesn't need Beyonce or Garth to look hip. If he wants to really be the "People's President," he should focus on lifting up middle America and those that are struggling--celebrities aren't struggling.

Obama and Hollywood

I do not worship at the altar of Obama. I see no reason to. I do not think he was the right choice. And in the future, I am willing to bet I will be proven correct. He is not to be trusted.

His smug smile belies what is in his heart and so do his choices for his cabinet.

I see nothing good in his election, only trouble to come.
