President Obama

Why Too Much Inauguration Star Power Could Hurt Obama

A look at the past relationships between presidents and Hollywood

Yet for most voters, the key is staying true to everyday values. Says Ken Duberstein, former White House chief of staff to Reagan: "He should be seen as Michelle's husband, and Sasha and Malia's father. That speaks volumes about what kind of person he is." And it is far more impressive to Middle America than being Shakira's pal or Garth's newest buddy.

Inauguration

THIS IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING. It has nothing to do with celebrity crap status that is being tossed around. For the right wingers, just to let you know that people are volunteering their time and smallfinancial contribution to be a part of this celebration. People want to hear and see him, how can some of you deny that. Will these entertainers white or Afro American volunteer their services to W? I doubt it. The great number of Americans even those who voted for McCain is optimistic. Why not, this country was raped financially by the outgoing administration who I believe should be charged for their missdeeds and lies.I hope that Obama will appoint and independent commission to investigate all lies and more lies the financial shenanigans they created. Iraq, why do you guys do a little research to find out how much money we spent in Iraq per month, and this is an illegal war as you know it by

now. You people are nothing but a peanut gallery.

Too Much Star Power

A silly assessment.

MTV idols unnecessary

While celebrity endorsements along with Barack Obama’s “star quality” heightened his popularity among many younger generational voters, it was not the reason he was elected. After being criticized for being a celebrity himself by McCain, Obama is not proving otherwise with this extravagant celebration. This is a historical night and does not require the excessive lineup of MTV icons in order to be remembered. Acknowledging the younger generation is important but so is maintaining the strong image of the American president that the older generations have worked to uphold and have come to respect.
