President Obama

After Rick Warren Flap, Gay Activists Cheer Obama's Invite of Gene Robinson

inauguration

I think Obama should be able to pick whoever he wants to give the invocation. After all, it is his inauguration day and it should be his choice. Not the choice of the gay community. The Bible says when a man lies with another man it is an abomination to God. That is the God I pray to.

Give the man a break,already

The president has to be inclusive, he has to try to pull this wildly divergent nation together. The spotlight belongs on Obama, not 'spokespersons' for one group or another. I voted for the other guy, I truly hope my president grows in to his role.

Garbage...

"The inclusion of Rick Warren and Gene Robinson is consistent with Obama's promise to listen to and respect different viewpoints, rather than seek only agreement" I am so sick of hearing this crap. Why not invite the KKK? Aryan Nation? Any old Nazis left over from the space program? Rick Warren represent bigotry pure and simple.

Joe Solmonese Does NOT speak for the GLBTQ community!

Somebody needs to inform Dan Gilgoff that Joe Solmonese was never elected to speak on behalf of the GLBTQ community and from the gay rights movement point of view, he has done a terrible job of running the HRC; an Uncle Tom Group that continues to do nothing more than throw fancy parties to raise money to support candidates who look down on us. The HRC refuses to be involved in real protests, to take strong stands or to encourage the GLBTQ community to refuse to accept discrimination. Their support of Obama has been shameful. On the night Obama won, Solmonese demonstrated an incredible lack of leadership by sending out an email to his entire membership claiming that election night was such a wonderful, terrific triumph for us all. He ignored the fact that gays lost on almost every proposition ballot across the nation (including Prop 8 in CA) and that this past election was actually a NIGHTMARE for us. Obama's help was desperately needed and he ignored us and allowed Rick Warren and his followers to lie about his support for Prop 8. Obama's silence was deafening and directly contributed to our loss as many Democrats are now following his homophobic lead.

Gays are angry as hell. This selection of Rick Warren was incredibly insulting and demoralizing. Rick Warren and his followers did not just take anti-marriage position. They were cruel, encouraged gay bashing, sold their Proposition on nothing but lies and false accusations. They abused Jesus, God and the Bible for their political ambitions. Of all the ministers in the U.S., Rick Warren was perhaps the worst choice Obama could have made. Adding this gay priest to the event does not offset what Obama has done to us, nor does it take the sting off of how badly the Democratic party has treated us.

Gilgoff's claim that the gay rights movement is elated over anything whatsoever to do with Obama or the Democrats is not substantiated and is incorrect. It is an oversimplification of a very complex, urgent matter.

A nation headed for destruction.

Wow. I'm so glad that there are true Christ followers out there. The word is truth. Try to live without it and see what happens. Man without the true God is an animal. Romans 1. We as Americans think that we are Gods. What a dismal excuse for god. We worship ourselves. The result of that is destruction. Mark my words. If America does not go back to the real Christ, we will cease to be a nation. Revelation is soon coming. Every civilization that destroyed the order of the family ceased to exist. Do we dare try this experiment.

Obama

If you don't stand for something....you'll fall for anything....certainly, we are falling for anything and everything in our nation right now...we are sad...sad...sad...I no longer feel pride and joy when I think of my once beloved country. I feel only sadness, anger, and regret. America...what has happened to you??????

"Natural Event"

Bill of New York states that "I hold that it is a natural event, giving those who are born with such a predilection certain traits that are theirs just as those who are heterosexual are blessed with their specific characteristics and traits." Bill is correct that people are born with the certain tendencies, such as homosexual, violent, uncaring, selfish, etc...(we are born into sin) , but that does not mean that it is ok with God for us to be that way. I'm not sure what god Gene Robinson knows and worships but I do know that the God of the Bible is not ok with it. From studying the Bible one finds that with the fall of Adam and Eve sin entered the world for all of mankind. Everyone is born into this fallen state. Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" God also says in 1 Corinthians 6:8-10

"8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." You can argue with this all you want to, but you must do so with God not man. As for me I will not be deceived, I will believe the Word of God not the opinion of man. If you really care about homosexuals who want to be Christians and worship the One True God of the Bible, share the Word with them out of love and concern. God Bless, Eric

Conmment to the comment by Mr Flaming Jan 13, 2009 15:07 inthe afternoon

The Scripture, Judge not that you be not judged Matthew 7:1-21 does not mean you do not judge. That is why he gives us the analagy of fruit. You judge fruit, but, as you judge others you will be judged.

God is very clear in many passages about what he declares as an abomination.

People find themselves in these situations and addiction too ;as they are "looking" for God, the Love of God. God loves addicts, gays, sinners period, but he also tells us to "sin no more" and the change in us is God working in us which leads others to his saving grace and His truth. There is not "the God I know", there is one God. You know it if you know him. Most of us have to have experiences from the drawing of the Holy Spirit and "acceptance" of that drawing to become a disciple of God.

Seek and ye shall find. It's not what man says that counts, it what God says. He speaks to your heart, do not be deceived.

interesting choice

I guess Obama is a better politician than i thought he has found a way to make everyone happy. Even though I do not agree with robisons life choice I am not the judge of him God is and well none but God are to judge. I hope that he will see the folly in his choices and choose to someday repent and change his way of life, but hey that is not up to me I can only pray for him. As far as him giving a speech I might not like the man but I will respect him as a man and listen to what he has to say before I make my judgement of him. You can't judge a book by its cover and you shouldn't cast judgement on something that hasn't happened

LISTEN UP

Anyone can speak!!! Gene Robinson is there to give a prayer, a welcome to Obama.

How does that hurt,,, why is everyone going crzzy!.

Does Obama's choice offend you? Then dont listen!.

This is like listen to MSNBC and FOX, you would think we were on different planets.

God is all inclusive to those who have faith in him.

If Pot Poll had become a Christian before he died and was going to be in heaven, would YOU say I dont want to go to Heaven because Pot Pol was there and forgiven.

We have all sinned and fallen short of God standard. EVERYONE.

Salvation is not having to pay what we deserve to pay by Grace and the Blood of Christ.

Look at what this issue has brought out in people....

OH by the way "WHAT IS THE REASDN GOD IS GOING TO LET "YOU" into His heasven,

is it your good deeds? Your self righteousness?

Sorry ....
