President Obama

Bush May Be Gracious Toward Obama, but He's Still Divisive

In his final days as president, Bush remains very polarizing

Posted January 9, 2009
US President George W. Bush waves as he walks into the White House on his way to the Oval Office after returning from a day of events in Philadelphia.
President George W. Bush remains an extraordinarily divisive figure.

In recent years, Republican Ronald Reagan also was a polarizing figure, as was Democrat Bill Clinton. But Bush appears to have divided America at least as much as they did, and largely because he was such a decisive person. It was his own choices that, by and large, led to his polarizing impact, not fate or circumstances beyond his control. One can only hope that Barack Obama, when he takes office on January 20, can somehow get past the animosities and vengefulness of the past and move toward a more harmonious era.

Bush

To make a point and push their agenda Demos and the press asalted the Bush PRESIDENCY LIKE NEVER BEFORE. Some of the remarks were criminal what ever happened to respecting the office of the president I did"nt agree with all of the things he did but he was still my president. Our country and standing in the World were damaged more by the comments against Bush than any of his actions we should be behind our leader to the World and express our disagreement with our votes. I personally would like to see the press report the News not continuely editorilize it with their own opinion. I am not an Obama suporter but he is our president and will have my support until I can v ote against him.

WAIT AND SEE

Right or wrong Bush was one person who stood on his convictions after 911. I will be the first to agree after putting a great deal of money in the treasury with his tax cuts he could not stop spending. We will soon see the the stemulus package that is propsed without change will do nothing about creating jobs but will only raise taxes leading to more government programs loaded onto the backs of hard working americans.

Not a Bush supporter but a Republican supporter
