I use to babysit Dr Gupta in Detroit on Harrison St... S. Gwizdala.. Glad to see hes all grown up and doing well.
CNNHYPOCRISY
CNN wants to influence politics in Washington to gain control of the health system and make more money from pharmaceutics. Just watch CNN for about an hour and you will see a bunch of commercials from drugs. It is just money for CNN and doesn't care about real health issues that affect millions of americans. Just think about the case of Mario Vela, an employee who was fired from CNN when he was in a hospital. Mr. Vela couldn't even think well or read well to sign a severance package sent by CNN terminating his medical benefits. By the way, Mario died of a brain tumor.
GUPTA CNN HYPOCRISY
This is what Dr. Gupta needs to know about health hypocrisy in CNN.
CNN’s credibility is history. CNN is not only unfair to people in the streets but also to its employees. CNN fired a journalist who was dying of a brain tumor. The guy couln’t even talk normal or think normal to sign a termination package sent by CNN when he was in the hospital. Shame on CNN. See video on the condition of Mario Vela when CNN terminated him.
THE ENTIRE EXECUTIVE STAFF MUST RESIGN, SAME MUST DO CNN HR.

Gupta and the Swine Flu Hysteria
I am glad he did not become our surgeon general. He assisted in creating this Swine Flu Hysteria. This confirmed to me that he is an opportunistic narcissist and has a serious lack of ethics. He and CNN created a hysteria, and then he went and put a 5 yr. old child on international TV pinpointing this CHILD as the first case. Talk about making someone a Leper. I think this showed a serious lack of ethics. Wonder if he holds stock in medical supply companies? I bet you (and Wallstreet)made some serious coinage this week Sanjay.
barbara of NC
sounds like someone's out of a job and none too happy about it, why take out your frustration on dr. gupta? get a life
What this says to me.
Gupta was shown to be ethics challenged thanks to that whole Sicko story, so badly ethics challenged that CNN was forced to put his show on hiatus until the furor died down. He also demonstrated his hostility to single-payer.
Putting him in basically translates to Obama ejaculating not just on healthcare reform, a core policy promise by the Democrats, but also on ethics reforms.
It shows that he is planning to renege on the very little he had actually promised during his run.
The simple truth is that during the last eight years the US government has been demonstrably corrupt, the last thing Obama needs near him is someone who is known as a liar and a fraud.
DR.GUPTA
STAY OUT OF POLITICS DOC YOUR OF A BETTER FIBER........
Paging dr. Gupta .. A request
Stay with CNN and Emory. Earn your $$. Leave the crap to politicians. This country does not deserve someone of your caliber. Leave it to seasoned scoundrels to run this country. The goose is cooked.
Number 11: He's a nanny-state advocate
"I suspect that most of the people eager to vote yes on the new ballot measures aren't suffering from glaucoma, Alzheimer's or chemo-induced nausea. Many of them just want to get stoned legally. That's why I, like many other doctors, am unimpressed with the proposed legislation, which would legalize marijuana irrespective of any medical condition."
He opposes any decriminalization because "it really isn't that good for you". Now, I realize that this isn't the most pressing issue by any stretch, but I wonder how someone in his position could be so incredibly short-sighted on an incredibly complex issue. First of all, for the majority of people, the damage caused by cannabis is minimal. Secondly, something being "bad for you" isn't necessarily a reason for a ban, especially when taking into account
1. The issue of individual liberties: the right of the individual to do what he or she chooses as long as it harms no one else.
2. The incredible amounts of money spent and time wasted by law enforcement officials (who have better things to do) on an unwinnable drug war. "It really isn't that good for you" really isn't an end-all argument.
And just because he's a neurosurgeon in a high position believes/claims what Gupta does does not mean that (many) people in the same field in just as high or higher positions don't disagree. There is no proven long-term brain damage caused by even heavy, long term cannabis use, it's not physically addictive, and the largest study conducted on the effects of the drug on lung cancer showed no higher chances of developing lung cancer.
Finally, just because you're skeptical of the motives of people behind a certain cause does not negate the rational arguments in favor of that cause. Sure, many people fighting for medicinal marijuana have a "hidden agenda" to completely make cannabis legal. So? why not? Look at what's happened in countries where it is decriminalized, or legal: NOTHING. Canada and the Netherlands have not suffered major catastrophes as a result of their liberal and reasonably-minded stances on cannabis. Secondly, just because a bunch of losers/a-holes are behind a certain cause does not mean that the cause isn't just or valid.
How did this idiot attain the position he did?
