When the Red Army was there, Afghans did terrible things. They "skinned alive" prisoners of war. They cut the skin from face and neck and pulled it down over the chest. Then they put the corpses where other Red soldiers saw them. if Afghanistan has those same terrible people in action there, I want us out of there with no mention of "victory." Americans men are dying in an area that, unfortunately, was once covered by the ancient Tethys Sea. It also covered what became England. Over millions of years, fern forests of the dinosaur age, under great weight, decayed & became petroleum. Some of the oil came from decayed bodies of tiny sea creatures. It is the capitalist system that prevents peaceful cooperation in distributing petroleum products. The UN is founded on the principle that "War is not an acceptable solution to international differences." But the UN became packed with a majority of "capitalist" nations. Instead of establishing & keeping peace, they discourage nationalization of natural resources. MeCarthy's Blacklist Era removed "socialistic" officials from the State Dept. The USSR had to deal with implacable capitalists like Truman, Reagan, and Nixon.
PAKISTAN-AFGANISTAN TALIBAN SOLUTION
The Russian ambassador was on television saying that Pakistan and Afghanistan problems have to be solved together. He did not elaborate, and most people do not know the following explanation. The Taliban is basically out of the Pashtun tribe, or ethnic group, which lives in large areas of BOTH countries. Pakistan has exerted influence over it for a long time. Pakistan funded the Taliban with American and Saudi help during the period when the Soviets occupied Afghanistan, 1979-1989, making Russians very aware of the connection. Americans during the Bush period were focused on fighting terrorism, so they did not bother to understand why Pakistan and Karzai, Afghanistan president, were telling them that they had to deal with Taliban realistically. So what is the solution? Ask Russians and Pakistan, especially military, if this is their interpretation of problem and how to resolve it. Pakistan has been experimenting with being a democratic country for around half a century and Pakistan military is very strong and somewhat independent of national government. When it gets chaotic, the military has replaced leaders but things are now getting stable. Military has to keep arms length and also works with Pashtun (Taliban) as they are recruited for conflicts such as Kashmir, and previously Afghanistan. Pashtun were described by British in 19th Century, as "predatory and individualistic." Pakistan military will probably have to be funded and pressed directly on methods to turn Taliban around. Pakistan may also find that helping Afghanistan pacify Taliban will help them with their internal problem with terrorist groups.

MR steve u are totally wrong .it looks u have not much information about war in afghanistan it is not Asian war it is not Europran war .it is a war between US and US exfriends I am ssorry .the country who were friend with taliban and alkaida was ur country.stop talking so shit.u these animals are made of ur country now it is also ur war.but.u know what ur government doont wan realy to fight them .cus with terroirsts .they can do gut bussiness.
Afganistan &the Middle East
Afganistan is a sad helpless and almost hopeless country a relic of tribal warfare,religious intolerance many of the tribal leaders would rather grow narcotic substances which keep their own people in poverty and ignorance for thenselves and the huge amounts that they export to other areas outside of the country as well.....this has been going on for hundreds of years and maybe thousands....and this is an asiatic problem not a western problem...we are wasting our time,money and lives in this unhappy land and the sooner we leave the better.....We should concentrate on the western hemisphere and the Monroe Doctrine.....not fight asia's wars or europe"s wars either...the taxpayers and voters of our contry do not need to go to europe or asia to defend our selves.....Cordially...
DECONSTRUCTING THE TALIBAN
The Pakistan military have told the foreign liberation forces that they have to deal realistically with the Taliban. A few basic facts should suffice to explain their rationale. Pakistan and Afghanistan being Islamic societies, governments know that they have to control Muslim extremists but it is not feasible to eliminate them. Get them to change what they do, not who they are. The Taliban have been around since the mid 1990s, they came out of religious schools in Pakistan, they occupied cities in the political vacuum left when Soviets left, they cannot operate a governmwnt with their simplistic and extremely suppressive notions, and they were easily overthrown by northern Afghanistan forces and handful of American forces. Bush administration moved on to Iraq and did not realize Taliban would continue with their harassing actions to get foreign forces to leave country. The coming election is good opportunity for candidates to explain how they will deconstruct the Taliban.

i can tell u one thing we know we have seen the taliban are killers criminals and worse then wild animals they could drink ur blood so my qeustion what should we do with these animals .ummm i think kill them untill they are finished

everybody write here somthing but i am from afghaistan i know more about this war than any other writer so the problem in afghabnistan is only in the south of the country along the border with pakistan in pashtun areas in the other parts are afghanistan there is not war the americans and NATO soldiers can walk in the streets in north in kabul in herat but only the oashtun people are the prblem even the president is a pashtrun from kandahar but if they get him they cut his head the sane time so lets see why there is problem in south of the country answer is very easy from how many countries arrested US and Nato Soldiers terrorits when they attacked afghanistan in 2001 with his afghan allice i tell u they arestet terrorists from about 40 countries most of them from pakistan pashtun and panjabi terrorists since u can win this ware if u us military force u dont need to talk with this animals help the right people in afghanistan not the wrong people like karzai u will win this war

Hey FM...Who are you to call American troops stupid? From my perspective the Taliban should never have provided terrorists a safe-haven in the first place. I call that stupidity. Want to fix your country then help clean-out the terrorist.
