Warren

Pastor Warren's position on gay marriage isn't Scriptural, it's political. If Warren's interpretation of Scripture is supposed to be the law, there should be some consistency. Pastor Warren doesn't propose penalties against people who don't remember the Sabbath or honor their parents. Gay marriage, however, is a nice divisive political issue that Warren can use to further his own personal goals.

These right wing politicians masquerading as preachers take the name of the Lord their God in vain every time they open their mouths on these issues. I was hoping the Obama administration would start to get us beyond this kind of bigotry. I am deeply disappointed.

A D+ for Obama on this one

Where is the concessionary person for the LGBT community??? If there is one then Warren is not so bad.

I think there is not one so D+ to the inclusiveness of the inaguaration and the administration. By not standing with the LGBT community, he has chosen to stand with those against them.

Someone wrote: Obama wants us all to get along and come together. To that I reply: how is that working for him with his choice?

And no, I'm not a member of that community. I am a senior, single, poor woman. I understand discrimination.

Rick Warren??? What's up with that?

As a strong Obama supporter, I have to wonder... was that the promise it took to be included in the McCain appearacce at the mega church? Did he just like him personally? I could see that, it is HIS inaugeration, after all.

But as he has done such a good job of being inclusive in his picks everywhere else, I was astonished at this one.

It feels a bit like assembling a banana split and then topping it with a pickle... it just doesn't belong there.

Isn't it funny that they said having a pastor who opposes the lgbt, somehow makes his views tolerable or acceptable. Buut yet i am supposed to sit back and think that your views, LGBT views are tolerable and acceptable.. What makes you right??? Why do i have to accept your views, but you don't have to accept mine? The LGBT needs to do more research on the next president they vote for, because Obama has always said the sanctity of marriage is between a man and a woman.

I'm very disappointed and a bit shocked

As a voting block, I can only think that we more than helped put Obama in office. Surely he and his advisors know the power of our demographic. While I applaud his wanting to bring people together, extremeists are just that. They are so caught up in ideology that they won't even consider a disparate point of view especially when hiding behind the "Reverend" title. This is not "Change", this is the same old intolerance that we have had to endure for centuries. This ultimately will come back to bite him, I gave him so much more credit than this.

Get it Together

We will all not be pleased and we all need to come together for the common good. You cannot get mad at Rick Warren for disagreeing with Proposition 8 when the people voted against it. Obama said he would be President for all!!!! Therefore, if he wants Rick Warren to do his invocation for inauguration then that is his choice! Get it together!
