too much infighting

I am sitting here and reading stuff that apalls every decent human being. While I do not condone what homosexuals do I do respect their right to keep it behind closed doors like I would any heterosexual people. This administration is doing what every other administeration has been doing for the last hundred years or so. We are bickering about things that quite frankly not as important as say like saving what is left of our freedoms instead of childish brawls about people bashing others because of their sexual preferences. They say its not a choice. Ok if it is not a choice show me the gene that causes homosexuality. They have mapped the entire human geonome several times. They have found genes that make you fat, tall short genes that predisposes you to cancers, heart diseases etc. But no gene that causes homosexuality. That in the scientific community is knowned as learned behavior or enviromental conditioning. So if you are gay so what? That is between you and God or whomever you wish to pray to. Life is precious all life, straight or gay, short or tall, older or younger. We can learn a lot from our elderly people. Have you ever sat in on a family gathering and listened to grandpa tall how he met grandma or vice versa? Times were different back then Our values were more based on family ties rather than the latest violent game that jr just gotta have. Picnics by the lake, camping trips finding our first snake ande terrorizingt your older cousin with it. Those were times when family was important. Not so much anymore except in some communities like amish or mennonites or a handful of others. Here is a thought. This weekend. Turn off the tv. Find a museurm or zoo or even a fishin pond and go fishing. have a picnic and see what you all are missing. Our family does that at lest once a month.

tolerance or lack of it

The lesbian and gay community have gotten their feelings hurt yet again because they feel slighted by the presidents choice as to whom to give the invocation. First, this is the Presidents moment in History not just the gay community. He has the right to choose whomever he feels would deliver a good message and whom he has known for many years. I believe everyone has the right to be represented as americans. This faction and childish behavior when someone does not get what they feel they are "entitled" to is something that I would expect to find in a kinderschool yard. Personally I am straight. I have a loving family and husband of 30 years as of a few days ago. I have friends from all walks of life both straight as well as gay from many different religions as well. No one likes having anothers lifestyle thrown in their face and shoved down their throats and their childrens throats too that goes for both gay and straight communities. The gay community even has issues with the bible I grew up with and have now made their own "gay bible". Now comeone folks if someone wants respect for what they believe in they should be respectful and tolerant of those who may not believe in the same issues. But that should not make us act like little children should it? Let the healing begin, take away the hate, anger and pettiness and work together like the adults we are supposed to be and make progress for equality for all. That sounds reasonable to me anyhow but I am probally a bit biased as are my friends too.

healthcare and questions in general.

Mr President,With all due respect to your office and the difficulties you are facing from both the GOP and even the democrats would it not be more orderly if instead we turned these town hall meetings into more productive less inciteful rioting as to the subject being discussed? While you probally will not win over everyone many of us are lost with all the media hype shouting and brawling that seems to be teh norm. There are many questions out there and lots of misinformation too. Could it be possible to print up economical books that explain the bill (s) at a reasonable cost to Americans. It would seem to me that we could possibley make some headway that way and the cost offset of the printing can be done in the prisons to print them and send them out to congressmen and women where we can pay and pick up a copy we can calmly read and then ask our questions in a more decourus way. You have experience in Law. Doctors have experience with patients and the insurance companies have experience in fleecing all of us our of as much money as they can. Maybe the can be a way for good suggestions to make their way to you for you to ponder over too. It's just a thought. My best to you and your family and I hope the girls are enjoying their puppy.

Tolerance vs. Political Correctness

I have to echo some of the other commentary. It is always amazing to me how people who talk about tolerance and inclusion are the first to exclude other points of view. This is the essence of the political correctness that has become such as disease in academia and society as a whole. The enlightened human being doesn't try to shut down dialogue; if he believes that his beliefs can stand scrutiny, he embraces reason and transparency.

Rick Warren

The LGBT demands tollerance for their opinions. Yet when the president elect selects someone that doesn't agree with their point of view, it "fueled outrage and protests from the gay community". When you demand tollerance for your opinions, but respond with outrage at an opposing viewpoint, it totally undermines your position.

Yes, we can? The gay community elects the messenger but loses the message

True to his vision of uniting rather than dividing, President elect Obama sparks outrage in the LGBT community, selecting Rev. Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration.

While the expressed outrage within the LGBT community is understandable, consider this… if we genuinely hope to understand one another beyond media sound bites and unite this nation, we must first acknowledge, listen and understand those whose beliefs would separate us.

By looking at what unites us rather than what divides us, Obama’s inclusive forum serves as the collective first step of a nation and with it the hope of inspiring meaningful dialog, based on one simple truth… we are all created equal and afforded the rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Now is the time to support our newly elected president and remind ourselves, we are all people first and agendas second.

A word to Rick Warren and other Christians against gay-rights

Homosexuality is not a choice. That assertion is a slap in the face to many gays and lesbians who struggled and fought with themselves about their sexuality. As a teenager I tried to be straight. I tortured myself for years until I finally let go and accepted myself for who I am.

If you took every word from the Bible as the word of God and followed it to a T, you would be living a very torturous and conflicted life. The Bible is not the unadulterated word of God. The Old Testament was comprised of the teachings of three different kingdoms of Israel, two of which existed at the same time. The New Testament was written by several different men. After that it had huge swaths edited out at the whims of men in power of the church. No wonder it is so contradictory. By the way in all the words in the Bible attributed to Jesus not one of the condemns homosexuality.Could it be possible that some hateful minded men who had the opportunity to form the Bible to their, NOT GOD"S, beliefs took advantage of that situation? Also one of the Ten Commandments is 'Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy'. Well I'm sorry to bear this bad news to the majority of Christians but you break a commandment, unrepentantly, on a weekly basis. The Sabbath is Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. If something like that can be changed on a whim in the church why not its views on homosexuality? Churches and governments have in the past ignored suspect passages in the bible that support slavery, subjugation of women, and countless others that are opposed to human rights. Why not ignore the few passages against homosexuality? It would barely add to the smorgasbord of dismissed teachings in the bible. Or you could just cut them out like the church did in so many other cases?

HYPOCRITE

This is what gets me about this whole thing. Obama is gonna get on that stage, people around him will be crying for the symbolism that his inauguration represents. Freedom from the prejudices that have plagued this nation for so long. Then in walks a preacher to swear him into office. A preacher who thinks that Homosexuals should join the ranks of people who commit incest and have sex with children.

This is disgusting. Its like a horror film where everyone has lost their minds. What exactly does this represent? I can't put into words how disgusting this display of complete and utter hypocracy this will represent. There are no words to describe the injustice of it. It is hell reborn.

everyone is a critic

Obama's choice reflects his dedication to human rights, but sends a message that no one group will have free reign over every one else. i guess homos feel double crossed because obama isn't going to turn this into the F.S. of A. you got used. period. I am a christian, i oppose gay rights, but disagree with the subliminally racist uber conservitive fear team that hates warren. WARREN DOSN'T CONDONE ANY QUEAR ACTIVITY BY ACCEPTING OBAMAS INVITE. HE LOVES THIS COUNTRY LIKE YOU SHOULD. THE SAME COUNTRY THAT ALLOWS YOUR GAY RIGHTS PROTEST. TRY PROTESTING THAT NON-SENSE IN ANY OTHER COUNTRY. P.S. I DON'T AGREE WITH PROTECTING YOUR RIGHT TO MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF THE VERY CONSTITUTION THAT ALLOWS YOU WAVE RAINBOWS AND NOT DROP A ANTHRAX BOMB ON YOU. HOW YOU DOOOOOOIN?

THE warren-obama Scandal

Bulletin: OBAMA'S T-SHIRTS, MUGS, STICKERS IN FORECLOSURE!!

News that Obama has reneged on human rights issues has stained the inauguration process and has suspended his powerful LGBT volunteer and economic support indefintely.

Obama, untouched by cries of foul-play has used the gay community's vulnerability in order to demonstrate what he calls

"a fair hearing to all Americns."

This will backfire. Obama has broken promises, defaulted on his integity, and now tenaciously and absurdly remains determined to self-destruct, no differntly than Nixon did, in the latter's decisions concerning Watergate.

The fear and trembling in Obama's voice these days is contagiously dismal.

That politicos have not rallied round the Human Rights Campaign furor, further indicates how Obama has deflated civil rights for all Americans in this country. Obama sets back the course for all Americans, people of color as well as people among the gay community.

No doubt, early on in his presidency, obama will be forced into political and spiritual bankruptcy...and I hope he feels solace within the open hearts and minds of the evangelical christians who had not given a dime, nor an ounce of sweat to his campaign.

God save this great country.

Let us turn our backs on this political fraud, as he has turned his back on us!!------
