Nancy Pelosi covering her lies and her rear end.

Nancy Pelsosi is starting trouble with the CIA for political reasons. This could really backfire on all of us. She would have said something sooner if it was true. She just made it up. Now she is looking for something to give her credit. Bad, bad Nancy. If Pelosi knew about anything she would have told it sooner. But now she is looking for something to cover her lies. Pelosi doesn't give a d*** about any of us, just herself and her own ego.

How do you think all the bad terrorist guys who murdered and killed innocent people got assassinated? These killers admitted it and bragged about it. That was enough evidence. So duly found guilty in absentia by their own confession and duly executed. This goes back a long long way and was done by both Democrats and Republicans. If they weren't doing this during the last 8 years they were probably negligent.

Dems Sink National Security

I can not believe these stupid, pig-headed Democrats who want to forever cripple the national security of this country.

And yet these same stupid idiots will propose the current Amnesty bill which should make every American's blood boil at the outlandish proposals in it.

Disgusting!

Let Us Fiddle While The House Burns Down!!

They just cannot help themselves!! Scoring -- what they perceived to be the the ultimate prize -- POLITICAL POINTS WITH THE LEFT, far outweighs national security of this Country. They forget that they took the same approach during the Clinton era. HOW DID THAT WORK FOR US?? {Remember Somalia; first World Trade Center bombings; bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia (killing 17 US Airmen); bombing of two US Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya killing hundreds; bombing of the USS Cole; and findly, 9-11!!} Don’t forget, some of the same players are in charge again.

Think that the President is RIGHT! “Look forward, not backwards.” If they are trying to provide cover for Pelosi, she has already done damage .. to herself. Can only imagine some of the folks rushing to an open microphone, and yacking as though they comprehend CIA operations that they are complaining about!

Do they not understand that a growing number of citizens – though not for hiding info from authorized members – can flat understand why some in the CIA are increasingly dubious of providing anything to members of congress?? As each day goes by, it becomes increasingly clear that they only care about one thing – THEIR OWN PERSONAL POWER.

Heck, I would argue that the majority of the CIA leaders have taken an oath “TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.” When you look at what some on capital hill have done – and are doing – would you trust your personal life to them – could they be judged ‘domestic enemies’?? The CIA may just be protecting our Constitution against the egotistically loquacious mental midgets on capital hill!

I sure hope their actions now do not cause more casualties in this country and overseas. THIS TIME FOLKS, A LOT MORE FOLKS ARE WATCHING, AND IT WILL BE ON THEIR HANDS.

NOW, RE-READ THE FIRST PARAGRAPH!! (Especially members of Congress!!)

Brian from MI

Hey Brian, have you heard the saying "Birds of a feather flock together"? So it's OK if you, William and anybody like you stick together. Obviously you have no clue what you're talking about.

Dont hold your breath

Just as a courtesy I was responding to statements directed to me.

Thank you very much.

Is holdling your breath till you turn blue next?

If all you want to do is have the last word on this subject it is really obvious & a little pathetic actually .You keep referring people to your original post .You did not even bother to read the post from "young fogey" in CT. It was never stated, much less inferred that it was Roosevelt that decided to drop the two atom bombs on Japan Their point ,clearly, was that it must have been morally challenging for Roosevelt to authorize the relocation of Japanese -American families on the West Coast , but,Constutionality aside, he erred on the side of caution to protect the United States .Try to let some other people weigh in ,as a courtesy to the author. Thanks .

We Dont torture

For your benifit my origional posting Mr. Young

I strongly agree with the statement ... We are Americans... We don't torture. It does not matter whether torture worked or did not work. The point is the Constitution was violated & International laws were broken.

We do not torture, and torture is a crime, not a method. If you want to work for a government and want to torture someone, you need to find another country. Government employees take an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. If you are a government official and torture someone, you have failed your oath to defend the U.S. Constitution and you have broken the law. We do not need or want people working in our government that conducted torture.

There is no way anyone can respect the CIA if it rewards torture interrogators with their job. Abscess of morality in any government agency will not result in respect, ether now or in the future. This controversy is not about legal opinions & the CIA its about the CYA mentality of the Bush Administration. The Bush administration motives may have been honorable but their actions were criminal they need to be held to account !

At the Nuremberg trials in 1946, the U.S., England, and France decided that just taking orders is not excuse for torture. Concentration Camp commander's defended their actions as just taking orders. No doubt Nazi lawyers declared their actions both necessary and legal under German Third Reicht Law. At Nuremberg in 1946, the decision by the U.S., France, and England was unanimous, that a person is responsible for their own actions. No orders or shadow legality is a defense against a complete loss of morality. The trials at Nuremberg set the standard. Just taking orders does not give anyone, not even an American, the right to torture another person . We do not want our country to have Nazi morality standards.

I hope we still have today as much moral strength as our fathers that fought WWII to save our country and save our Constitution. If government officials today trash our Constitution to gain immediate ends, then we have lost any meaningful difference between our enemies and ourselves.

We are America, and We don't torture. Our Constitution and our morality are worth far more than any information obtained from torture. The ends do not justify the means.

We should also keep in mind that who knew what & when is irrelevant & who did what and when during the Bush Administration is what is important ! If true, giving an illegal order to withhold information from Congress by Vice President Chaney is a crime !

We are Americans, and We don't torture. NO IF ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT ! See title 18 sec. 241 & 242 if you do torture, this is what you can expect from the law. Eventually the US Government will have to do the right thing and bring all those involved in this criminal behavior to justice ! NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW ! Then & only then can we put this dark pain full period behind us & move forward.

Failure

Anything that will take the focus off Obamanations failures as President...highst unemployment rate in many years, interest rates, ad infinitum, ad nauseam!

Subterfuge

Subterfuge is nothing new its been around a long time even before Sun Tzu wrote the Art of War. Google it ! You need to go back to my origonal posting to see where I am comeing from .

We as Americans should never give up our values & morals and become what we despise ! That is what makes us Americans .

Your assumption that I am from the WW II generation is in correct I am a baby boomer and yes that was another example of violating the Constitution and to this day offends my sensibilties.

By the way it was Trueman & not Rossevelt who authorized the droping of the atomic bomb .

Subterfuge was, is ,and will be necessary in future

Simpletons can't grasp abstract concepts.Simpletons need the complex to be reduced to black and white .Sounds as though you(Mr.G) might fit that description more than the people your having the spirited exchanges with here .How can anyone that has a few years under their belt not acknowledge that the real world is one of gray tones. Judging by your moniker, you might have lived during ,if not fought in the Second World War.If that assumption is correct then did the relocation of Japanese Americans in the wake of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor offend your Constituional sensibilties then too?.There have been episodes in our history, such as the attack on September the 11th that caused then President Bush to fight a new type of adversary with new and controversial methods. But because few produce as visceral a response as the image of our Pacific Fleet in flames for your generation -it will serve my purpose. In retrospect,it was tragic, unjust & un Constitutional true enough. The loyal 2nd,3rd generation Japanese Americans paid a toll and so did we as professed free society .But given the times ,President Roosevelt must have agonized whether to authorize the action ,but he went with it,for the security of the Nation as a whole. After the war it came to light that the Japanese had a nuclear weapons program of their own ,and biological weapons (in violation of international treaty) that were deployed against us. Thankfully due to the Herculean effort by our military, allies and intelligence organizations ,thwarted.Intelligence, means and methods are still classified from that time.God knows what else might have been done to protect us.The point is that the Constitution bent ,it did not break. We ,and the Constitution survived to this point in time to have these differances of opinion.
