Give me a break -

Regarding the comments about Michelle Obama - Y'ALL need to gete a life!! Who cares WHO smears Whom?? I don't think the "gorilla" comment was appropriate, but, I also don't think comments about being "proud of my country" by MO were so hot, either - either way - it doesn't add up to a hill of beans!! We NEED to be focused on much BIGGER things here -

SC GOP DePass racist comment

I don't care how you put it, one can say oh if it were democrat or no one cared about the comment on Palin (not true lots of outrage) or that the 1st Lady made a comment about being proud (which was her statement about her own person feelings and many can understand it, but it was in fact about herself)..the undeniable fact is that racism is alive and well. To shove it under the rug as one suggested, don't comment allows it to continue as if it is ok. Interestingly when the President had problems with the reverand Wright it was expected and demanded that he speak out....but when Palin underhandedly by the dimness of night made her insinuations and fed on racism and fear, others said oh it's the campaign and McCain was not demanded to speak out.....interesting how racism is perceived in this the UNITED states of America. If you aren't part of the solution (calling it out) you are part of the problem. So people, don't get outraged about DePass alone, get outraged about the continued and allowed racism in many places.

GOP S Carolina

It amazes me to read this GOP official's arrogant comments. Who elected both of these insensitive idiots?

Give them a pass ? I will give the GOP a wide pass. They will enable anyone who considers themselves a conservative to move away from their Revisionist beliefs.

The people of S. carolina should be embarrased.

Gorilla

The comment was offbase and regrettable, but is it any worse than Lettermans so called joke about Governor Sara Palins daughter.

Democrats don't seem to be as worked up over that comment. The hipocracy shown by the demo's is overwhelming.

Rusty DePass

Eric Davis, the current chairman of the Richland County Republicans, said his predecessor should get a pass. "Everyone says stupid things they regret later. I think the world should move on," he said.

So, it's acceptable to Eric Davis. Is it because he has apparently said something racist that needed to be labeled as stupid and life went on sometime in his career? Self-righteous it is that in this day and time this educated person who has represented and this country can openly make a remark as this and another educated politician can think its justifiable. Sad sad situation. Most KKK members probably never realized they don't have to wear their hoods and robes to be recognized as such, especially if they intended to share their thoughts!!!!!!!!!!

Gorilla Comment

Have they shown it was a false statement yet?

Gorilla Comment

The fact that he had to apologize is part of the issue. He had to know it was an insult. But he is used to doing these types of things and pretending that he is sorry. If no one called him on it then he would go on his racist ways. If he is really sorry he would find out why it was offensive. He would know movies like King Kong are offensive, that commercials that depict black people as baffoons are offensive. But he will never know why, because he doesn't care and is not really sorry. He is sorry most people did not think it was funny.

very sad

Strange to hear that in the USA some people have so dirty and rude mention about other people. I hope it's rare accident

Gorilla comment

WHY DO FOOLS SAY WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN THEN TRY TO APOLOGIZE, KEEP YOUR F*&!KING APOLOGY BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO SAY WHAT YOU FELT IN THE BEGINNING STUPID RACIST. IF SHE CAME FROM A GORILLA THEN WHERE IN THE HELL DID YOU COME FROM BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE TWO EYES TWO LEGS AND BLEED BLOOD DUMB ASS HOLE KEEP YOUR DAM APOLOGY.

Gorilla comment

While I never will forgive Michelle and her comment about finally being proud of America, this statement was wrong.

If Letterman can apologize, then so should DePass!
