Who Do You Think Are the Winners (and Losers) in the Recession?

Recession

Only winners are the ''MONEY'' people..those that have it. Our food banks are near empty, our coat donations almost null...and yet Wall Street is on the ''RISE''? The ''American Dream'' has become those that can afford it...mainly those that we look to for information and guidance..our so called government got a raise and health insurance out the wazoo..and we get nada..China is going to own this country...not like it was when Japan was buying golf courses in the 80's...

Laughable!

I find your comment laughable about how the Dollar has strengthened. Just the opposite has occured and you know it. That is why gold is climbing at such an incredible rate. The dollar is revealing itself to be worthless and someone is going to be holding alot of paper when all is said and done. With the scams being produced to cause even greater debt to the public in America, it is a wonder we have lasted this long as the worlds currency reserve. Look at the lie of global warming. In 1942 and 1943 the Canadiens sent a patrol boat through the Northwest passage back and forth patroling for German U-boats. Look up the St. Roch if you don't believe it. No ice to break in the North. The same happened in 1958 and 1959. Open water at the North pole. Now all of a sudden it is "Global Warming"? The problem is too many dummies like the poster auradawn viers of CA or Raymond Powell of GA. Uninformed would be saying it kindly to these idiots. When you take by force from those that have it to give it to those who dont, it ceases to be charity and makes the endeavor an exercise of theft. Stealing is always stealing and when the well runs dry you end up with a country like Russia, Cuba or Mexico. It is no wonder we have immigration problems from these and other socialistic countries.

Recession Weiners....

Well, of course, the winners are going to be our corporate masters. Welfare for people is a "bad" thing, it's socialism at it's worst - however - welfare for corporations is a "good" thing but don't you dare call it socialism! Here's one of my favorite quotes from one of the wealthiest people on the planet, Warren Buffett. “There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning.”

Schaefer wrong with his "Enviro-Nazis"apocalypse

We need alternative and replaceable energy. The Bush Oil War proves this, as does growing pollution. The existing financial crisis can be traced to terrible policies enforced by Reagan and other Far Right politicians. They were DEREGULATION AND END OF OVERSIGHT and PRIVATIZATION of formerly publicly-owned agencies. Unions were attacked so workers had to accept lower pay. Reagan fired striking air flight controllers & more accidents happened. All forms of land transport became more costly as big companies owned most of the trucks, etc. Look around and see there are far fewer corporations than in the past. Tnere has been price-fixing as the old anti-trust laws were weakened or not enforced. Gore did wonderful research to warn us that glaciers and floes are melting, as proved by satellite photos. People will use these sources of power when they come--wind, solar, tides, biofuel, geothermal and any others that prove to be practical and clean. i want Congress to use taxes to put most of these energies into public ownership as no-profits.

Recession Winners... The Wealthy

Obama and the Congress has made it clear that "We the People" are going to bail out the large corporations that do not pay their fair share of taxes, but whom donate large sums to both parties.

Gm and Ford pay less federal taxes COMBINED then most Mom and Pop bussinesses! Why the public is not outraged over this issue is mind boggeling to me, a small business owner. I pay more federal taxes then two of the largest corporations in America combined! They have so many loop holes and deductions they virtually pay a pittance to the Feds.

SBA is where we should be investing, and not in the Largest Corporations in the nation. Face it, 70% of the jobs come from small businesses. Most of the nations patents come from small businesses. Small businesses that have the potential to grow to large businesses. This is where the future is. Not in large busineses that have obvioulsy gone stagnent.

Recession Winners...

The grocery business has always been a winner during any economic downturn. As fewer people go out to eat, the local grocery has been the winner. Contrary to the popular conception that one can eat out as cheaply as eating in, unless one lives on "fast food dollar menus," the family can always save by eating at home.

The winners are always the top dogs of this country and for those working for wall street. Hasnt it always been the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. We do need to stand for our country and let this president know we will not b told what going to happen. We have a right to vote on things. He to me is far from being qualified to run a country.

winners vs losers

Winners: Big business, congressmen, lobbysists, senators, the prez, insurance companies, etc.

Losers: Any citizen of the USA.

Get ready, America...the bottom will fall out and we will lose even more before this is over. Get your checkbook out cause we are gonna pay for it all.

Animals, by the way, will always be coddled, in good times or in recessions

Just to add, anyone who offers pet-related products or services is a winner, because beloved pets are shown to be healthy and to act as buffers against stress.

People will give up their favorite flavor of gourmet ice cream before they will cut back on spending for their beloved furry friends.
