Let Hayden push the envelope if he has to

Vie ,if this was a perfect world ,sure,But you know it is not & shaking a few trees to gather some usefull bits of intel is going buy us time kiddo. And with that time we live another day -and that is what this about. We can all do our individual or collective mea culpas later.

Vic of IN, you're a liberal moron

You compare the U.S. to the japs and germans of ww2. Not even close, we were attacked at pearl harbor, we were attacked on sept. 11th. Our efforts on both accounts were retalitory.

With that being said, if a few terrorists need to be tortured or even killed to gain valuable info to keep my family, friends, and fellow americans a little safer at night, more power to those who carry that out, and much gratitude and thanks to them as well. They're a big part of the reason liberals like you are allowed to have the moronic opinions that you have.

torture

CIA directors ought to understand the war on terrorism is a war of perceptions as much as IED attacks. In the war of perceptions which stands out more , the burning twin towers or Abu Graib prison photos or Congressional hearings on the use of torture ?

Hayden knows better

Hayden's too smart to say that an opinion by DOJ "lawyers" makes it legal. That's only their opinion. And only after all the dissenting lawyers were told to take a hike.

In WWII, the Japs tortured and the Germans tortured. I used to hold this against the Japanese and German war machines. Bush, Cheney, and Hayden have relieved me of this grudge.

Hayden shouldn't worry about spinning his case to the American people. But he does need to prepare his case for atonement to the Creator.

Secret Handshake?

LA Tines' Greg Miller quotes Hayden as against eliminating CIA "authorities" then jumps puzzlingly to - "if you create barriers to doing things. . .there's no wink, no nod, no secret handshake. We won't do it." This is unclear: Did they used to do it -- would cowboys start doing it again if "rough" stuff were not legally allowed -- is he warning/pledging it won't be done even in need? You were there -- what do you think he meant?

Qahtani waterboarded ??

Qahtani waterboarded ?

That's news ! If true, he is the 4th, not the 3rd.

I don't think Hayden ever said that.

Cite the source, please.

Here is the problem

Right after 9-11, people were taking the law into their own hands.. It was wild. Drunks, crackpots, etc..

How many innocent Americans were drugged??

This is the story they aren't talking about.
