Addicts missing out.

I am for medical drugs not abusing.Drugs steal you time and emotions!! Your life. Time and emotions is your life!! You miss out on friends. You miss out on neices and nephews. You miss out on birthday partys. Take time out to think. Also you may lose your job because of your bad memory and partying. Months of paying penalty. Also you should overcome mean people if you were hurt. My mom and dad would not let move, not loan money for a vehicle and mobs stop ya from having businesses. You can overcome problems or adversities. Some do not have a head start. It hurts to wake up without friends cause of your lazinees and lost emotions from drug addictions. Also most drug addiction institutions are NOT therapuetical, they are depressing! And stranger room mates in your rooms. Hard chairs. No boom boxes. No relaxing friend hangout area. The biggest and richest hospitals are guilty! A lot of us think we saw a movie about jerk institutions and then go experience it. Like a nightmare. Thank you for your time. Stop censoring me! Rev 12:9-torments us. Psal99:9-outside pray. Col 3:11. 1 corinth 14:26. Choose righteousness not selfrighteousness! Babys are a blessing. Go west IL christians.

The suburban heroin epidemic

When George H.W. Bush targetted the inner city black neighborhoods for Crack Cocaine to finance the Contra Rebels, it was met with apathy elsewhere in the U.S. amongst Whites. God is not mocked, for whatsoever a nation sows, of the same shall it also reap. Judgment is come to America, and unless there is nationwide repentance, we haven't seen nothing like what we're gonna see.

OMG THE CHILLLDRUNS!!

Hmn. I see that nice white kids from the suburbs are getting hooked on the junk now. I guess that means it really IS a problem.

Never mind the fact that it's been a "problem" in inner cities for what, five or six decades now?

To Start Take Down Pudue Pharma

Oxycontin brought heroin to more youth circles. That is a fact I watched it happen to my friends. I don't think all drugs are an issue, and people need to take personal responsibility. Oxycontin however was illegally marketed to the world and Purdue Pharma executives should be put in jail. Oh wait a minute that might become a new place to market their drugs. Maybe pump them full of their own drugs for a month and let them see how hard it is to get off the drug.

This was a problem long before it affected pretty suburban kids

I'm glad this problem is finally getting some national exposure, but its a shame that these things only come to light when they affect people like 'blonde, petite cheerleaders.' In my South Texas hometown, there is a substantial amount of heroin addicts who don't fit this profile but who are hurting themselves and their families just as much.

addiction

My babysitter put beer in my bottle to get me to sleep. My father and uncles encouraged me as a chid to get drunk. They laughed at me staggering around, they thought it was cute-funny. Then I got my first Public Intoxication at 13, wasn't so cute anymore. By age 25 I had 3 DUI's, 6 Public Intoxications, and a slew of drug charges. I can't even tell you the trouble I was in by 35.That was when my son Jesse was born, and my wife and I split up-wonder why! I have been clean now for a little over 10 years and still hunger for the knowledge that keeps me this way, and as you can imagine I have learned a-lot already. 45 years ago people had no idea of what alcohol could do to your life, and drugs were really new. I think it is not only exciting, but amazing what you people are doing with our young people. Proud parent of a D.A.R.E. member Jesse Perkins feel free to e-mail me at any-time

Attitudes

In my opinion the self serving and experiential ideas of "as long as it feels good and doesn't hurt others - or - if it is kept hidden" has overtaken our societies around the world. It DOES hurt others because we have relatives and neighbors who care for our safety and well being as well as their own. Most, if not all, situations require interaction with others and nobody is an island. What I do affects you and what you do in some way affects me, otherwise I wouldn't have this opportunity to have my say here in USNews.

On another front, attitude altering drugs cause a loss of productivity not only in the immediacy of the moments but in the long term since, college students for example, have a difficult time productively functioning to honor their studies. This manifests itself many years down the road with not only regrets and loss of better health, but in the overall as destructive to the security and sanctity of our nation.

Then, as we have cried to a dealer for a fix, later in life we cry to a government to feed us, clothe us, and house us.

Get the drift?

unlike jessica polmann

i have been clean from heroin for a year & i didn't go around asking for it the second i got out of rehab the way jessica is currently doing right now.

Drug Addiction

I begin using drugs in junior high school. Under the impression that smoking weed was not addictive or niether lead to hard drugs. Drugs had taken me to the degradation of hell, so my thinking told me I could handle drugs but was I wrong.

I share my story with others in my Book. Lust of a Dope Fiend speaks of a child that had all potentials in life and how drugs rob me of those dreams. I tells my story so that others may not repeat the same mistakes, also that I may encourege people to realize there is hope and not give up.

Since I've been sober several new drugs has been added to the market. Some of these drugs seem more severe than heroin or cocaine. Please don't get me wrong, because all drugs are dangerous, it's the effects drugs cause people.
