?

I do not understand. What does sexual orientation have to do with raising a child? As far as I can tell, nothing.

Homosexual parents are no more able or inable than heterosexual parents. Homosexual parents are just as likly, and perhaps even less likly, to molset thier children than heterosexual parents. And what would be harder to explain to a child, that they have two mommies, or that their daddy raped their mommy?

I thought so.

Although I haven't met many homosexuals, I have never met, seen, or even heard of a homosexual who had a single mean bone in their bodies. Not once. And with as monitored as this topic is, don't you think that any sort of action that could be considered abuse would have been reported by now?

Think about it.

i thought of wisdom

i don't believe in gay people because of my religion but i don't think they should be treated differently they are still human!!!! and should be allowed to adopt

A Straight Man comments!

I'm a straight man and I'd very much like to personally agree with the above comments, then go on to say that straight people SHOULD NOT have a say in the rights of gay and/or lesbian rights, as both of those groups are still human, still citizens of America, and still deserving of all the rights of their fellow men and women. Just because of a sexual preference people shouldn't be looked down on from a legal OR social standpoint! I'm here to say I have a LOT of gay and bisexual friends myself, and I enjoy being with them as much as I enjoy being with my straight friends!! So really America, let up on gays and lesbians, okay?!

Why do straight people get to dettermine if gay people can adopt or even get married!?

ok seriously this is what pisses me off i dont understand how the hell straight people have the right to tell gays or lesbians they cant get married or cant adopt. I am 18 years old and i have happily been with my GF for almost 2 years now and we have been friends for about 5. i love her with all my heart and it really kills when we both want to have children one day (she is going to have one) and then i have to jump through all these loops just to claim the child as mine. Straight people telling what gay and lebians cant do is always going to be the crappy end of the deal for us because thats just the way people are they want the better half so straight people are going to make sure they have better and more rights then us. im not sayin that all straight people are like that but get real if they all werent like that then we would be able to marry the person we love and adopt children as easy as they do.

Lesbian Pride 4 Life

i speak from experience

i was raised by my mother and her partner ever since i was eight years old... yes i may be affected by what type of relationship she has... but the only affect it has on me is making me more open minded to the world.. i could care less what my mothers sexual preference is.. i love her no matter what.. it doesnt effect the kids.. i know from experience.. and i think its sad that some closed minded person is missing out on the bigger picture.. its about these kids getting a home.. a loving home, not puting them in danger, and if they are so busy trying not to let this man adopt, then they should adopt the children themselves...

Any one can love anyone

Why is this such a big deal today??? It shouldn't be a big deal at all!!!! Gay, Straight, lesbian or what ever you are you should be able to adopt. I am personally a gay 16 year old male. I have someone that I really enjoy being with a lot and who knows but in the future we might want to adopt a child. I love children they are such a joy. I mean if they are being put in a loving home what does iit matter??? It doesn't!!! O and I am also Christian and i thought that we as people shouldnt judge. I know that God, Jesus Christ loves and excepts me and everyone else. I just hope that the world and people well except that there are different people and that I, we as gays deserve te same rights as anyone else.

Peace and Love to all

Lesbians and Gays have a right too!

I am a lesbian, and hearing that I may not be able to raise a child is horrible. True, I may only be 18, and I am not married, or looking to adopt yet, but I hope that adoption facilities will allow same sex couples to adopt children by the time I do look to adopt.

"gay" adoption

yes i agree that there are many traditional couples that wait years to have a chance to adopt children no one ever said there wasn’t! and who cares if their parents are gay if the child is loved and cared for what does it mater if they have two mommys or two daddys its doesn’t. Also the persons sexuality does not make up their intellectuality or personality or their ablity to be a good parent. it also doesnt have an effect on the amount of love and compassion they have. also with these veiws they’re more likely to be understanding or open of their childs veiws on sexuality and prefrence along with many others things because of the ridicule they have recieved. just because a child grows up in a gay home doesnt mean that child will grow up gay as well. many people beileve and it has been proven its something your born with so why does it matter who raises a child or children!

leave them alone!!!

i think that everyone has a right to be happy and that we are born like this i personally am not gay but have a lot of homosexual friends. i do not think that there is anything wrong with being gay. i am a christain and as that i know it is not our place to judge. if you dont like gays then simply dont talk to them. if science proves it then take it as you want we also seeing how so many people are opposing the scince part of this arugement say the "big bang theory" is "wrong".. see there are many views on things that NO ONE can change. if your gay cool if your not cool. it shouldnt matter and it shouldnt be such a big deal!

Gay Adoption

In a 2007 study phsycologist Joe Stevens reported that of all the studies ever done, of a child in a gay/lesbian household, none of the children grew up to be disadvantaged, teased, confused about their sexual orientation, or uncomfortable about the situation...For those of you saying they would grow up in a bad environment, study the topic before you just go off spouting your opinions.
