the titanic was ment to take a side hit it had 16 water tight compartments 4 able flooded titanic could still go on they used still rivets but the wrong kind and the reason they didn't have so many life boats is because they thought the titanic was a big life boat with the water tight compartments it's own life boat and the life boats only have flled Captain smith wanted to get there a day early for his retirement head line and to whoever in santana tx people aboard ship unless captian could not send messages duh they left the binouculars on there last stop in port for some reason

One of the main reasons the Titanic sank was because that used wrought iron rivets instead of steel rivets. The only reason why they used the iron rivets was because they couldn't get the machine they were using to put in the steel rivets around the rounded areas of the bow and the stern. Also I believe Titanic could have survived if they had had a collision with the iceberg head on. It would have damaged the bow, but they could have closed the watertight doors. The ship was designed to have a head on collision because there was a steel compartment in the very front of the bow in the inside. The ship wasn't built to have a collision on the side of the ship. If Ismay wouldn't have been so stupid to take off the 32 other lifeboats they were going to use more of the passengers would have survived. The reason he had them taken off is because he didn't want the deck to look cluttered. People weren't going to pay money to look at lifeboats. Well they could have saved more people. The captain should have slowed down the ship, knowing that he was in an ice field. The wireless operator should have been more concerned with the ice warnings rather than getting out messages that the passengers wanted to send just so he could get his salary. Also Fleet should have had his eyes checked and had glasses as well as the binoculars to spot the iceberg before they were too close. The Californian should have seen the distress signals that Titanic had been sending. The crew should have filled the lifeboats to capacity instead of filling them with way less then they could have been filled with. It really makes me mad that they wouldn't even fill the 16 lifeboats to full capacity, but that was then. Honestly I believe that this tragedy could have been avoided. If the Titanic hadn't sunk and lost so many lives maybe it wouldn't be as famous as it is now. Maybe more of the attention would move to her sistership the Brittanic. That's my point of view of it.

I love the Titanic. I think it is the most amazing ship in the world. If only the captin would not have been so dumb to go so fast, it would probley still be here till this day. I wish it was.

JP Morgan,yes, THAT JP Morgan owned the Ship building Company. He wanted a faster ship, and demanded the specifications be changed to lightened the hull to make the Titanic faster in the water. The builders complied because nobody argues with JP Morgan, and the hull was made lighter with THINNER steel. This was covered up by the ship builders, but has come to light only recently through documents from the time. This article continues to attempt to obscure the real truth. JP Morgan is directly responsible for the Titanic disaster and the death of those on board. He risked and lost, all in the name of competition and corporate greed.Some things never change do they?

Honestly, i think that no one should doubt God. When rose's hateful fiance says "God himself cannot sink this ship", he was stating that basically even God cant take down an unsinkable ship and to me the thesis is, watch wat you say and never doubt God because it is through him that everyone adn everybody is living now so what makes you think he cant wreck a ship just 2 send a message to people, hey i mean there are several ways you kan look at it. And c they were first class people so they already think life is just easy for them because they are wealthy and have no limited beings and they treat the 3rd class people like dirt. So there are many different ways to look at it. I admit it was a sad movie and its cool how the 3rd class guy falls in love with the first class girl, and the melody and muzik they play just makes it even more romantic and sadening. But this movie isz good and the men who were watching out for the iceberg need to pay attention more and be more alert because that iceberg was pretty big at the point where they spotted it. I would have spotted that iceberg way before i got that close up on it and they shouldnt have speeded up the ship trying to reach the U.S. so fast. But you know, i guess things just are meant to happen to teach a lesson, but other than that this is an outstanding movie to watch at home jusz chillen and stuff.

My thoughts about the Titanic is that it was the captins fault for going too fast that he had no time to turn the ship a different way.I have watched the movie so many times and i loved it.This movie was so romantic but sad at the same time.I cant believe that this ship sunk because it was so big and it looked as if it was built right and it looked strong.I feel bad for all of those people who died.I cried after i saw this movie.When I first heard about the titanic I was surprised that it sunk and it was amazing.

the captain was going fast but the problem was that they had no binoculars on that ship they left them in ireland for some reason and they didn't see it until it was only a few hundred feet away and it was also because the titanic's rudder was to small for the ship
