it violates the constitution. it being gay marriages. it also violates what this country was founded on. it violates numerous other things too. if you let gay get married we might as well not have any laws. throw out the bill of rights, constitution, and everything else. make drugs legal. you might was well take off in God we trust. there is not one church opposed to gay people. it is the homosexual acts they are commiting. you guys and the damn media twist everything around, just like the patriot act. you people need to start taking an interest in law a little more instead of porn and other piddly crap.

Gay agenda activists impose their will on others? First off, there is no gay agenda. Its a mythical symbol that people against gay rights use to justify their homophobia.

Secondly, by banning gay marriage, aren't you imposing your will onto the thousands of gay couples in California? Just because Gay Marriage is legal, it doesn't mean that you HAVE to marry someone of the same sex. It just means that people of all sexual orientations have the same marriage rights.

It's called equality, and its a good thing.

Same Sex Marriage argument

I think most Americans agree adults have the right and privacy to due what they want together even if people disagree. I also beleive the majority of people want marriage to stay between a man and a women here in California and disagree the small majority want this. I know the media is so onesided and are not reporting fairly. If the media would report fairly this would never even have become such an issue but what it does show is media is not reporting honestly and therefore is a good reason why people do not purchase more papers. Marriage and all leglislation should be left up to the majority of American voters. All the gay agenda activists do is try to impose their will on all America. The worst of it is they dont care what the majority even wants. The Gay agenda truly are disctators and people need to see their elected legislators need to see what they are doing in office for.

Republicans Vs. Democrats

Democrats want government to be big enough to legislate and enforce civil rights. Republicans want Government to be small enough to fit into your bedroom and regulate your sex life.

The gay marriage movement isn't trying to completely break down society at all. It's simply trying to ensure that gay people are actually allowed to function in society with the complications, discrimination and biased treatment we endure.

I'm really excited to see this coming about in the US. 26 other Industrial nations have passed gay marriage and it has hardly led to a "complete collapse of morals" that the right wing religious zealots claim it will lead to. I fail to see how "defining marriage" will benefit families at all. As a gay adoptive father, What happens to children that don't get medical care as a result of their same-sex parents being denied family health benefits at work? What happens when one parent dies? Does the child get social security benefits? No. Do the parents get taxed on the same basis that their heterosexual counterparts do? No. Are they able to file as joint partners under IRS law? No.

This is a complete violation of the equal protection clause, the first amendment right to freedom of religion (to ABSTAIN from others forcing their religious beliefs on us), and also creates a sub-class of people deprived of the same rights that others get to enjoy everyday! It's time for a change. It's time for equality and it's time to stop patronizing gay people as representing the apocalypse.

I'm a great Dad and I absolutely love my kids. I think they deserve health care, to be cared for if I am ever sick or hurt, and also deserve to share in my economic success. I want to be taxed under the same set of rules everyone else is. This cannot pass quickly enough.....

Consenting adults...

So if two consenting adults that are father-daughter, brother-sister, or first cousins be allowed to marry? Race and sexual preference are two entirely different things, don't call this issue racism when it's not racism at all. If you believe you were born that way that's fine, but homosexuality is just like religion. You might have been born into a religion, but you have the option to change (albeit sometimes that change is very difficult for either case). You can't change if you are of caucasian, african, hispanic, or asian descent though, and you also cannot one day decide (if you were not born that way) that all of a sudden from this day forward I am african-american. Where that is possible with both religion and homosexuality. Therefore it is logical to say that homosexuality is more a code of ethics and lifestyle (much like religion) than it is race. Our constitution does not allow religions and other "lifestyle choices" special treatment, and that special treatment should not be extended to homosexuals either. It's not about hate or what's evil, it's about society and the constitution. The judges overstepped their bounds and are now making law instead of merely interpreting it as the separation of powers dictates. While gender and race are hard-coded in our DNA, I have yet to see news about the human h-chromosome that codes for homosexuality, so this cannot be even compared in the same arena to interracial marriage, black civil rights, etc. That is comparing apples to oranges. The only things it can be compared to are other lifestyle choices like [adult consensual] polygamy and inter familial marriage. We all have seen the news lately and know what the law says about that.

I really hope this goes through - we are way behind the rest of the world when it comes to social progressivism.

If You Don't Want Gay Marriage, Don't Get One!

I love how people that are so much in support of a gay marriage ban use some sort of "natural" comment, that it's unnatural for gays to get married. Please.

If you don't like gay marriage, DON'T GET ONE! It's as simple as that. Clearly those that are opposing gay marriage are straight...unless there are some masochistic gays out there...and honestly, gay marriage wouldn't affect them at all! How does gay marriage affect straight people? Don't give me the laughable Santorum defense that gay marriage would be the end of marriage as we speak...IT'S CALLED DIVORCE. I don't understand how straight people are personally affected by the allowing of gay marriage AT ALL.

It's not a "liberal judge's decision." It's a decision based on civil rights and common sense. Oh, and if Gov. Schwarzenegger can say that he won't try to fight this court ruling and that he would respect any decision the courts came to, why can't the rest of you be big grown-ups and do the same thing? Bunch of sore losers, that's what I think. Grow up, stop meddling in other people's business (cause that's what you're doing) and don't blame us for your failed marriages.
