Support Gay Marriage

I completely Support Gay Marriage and ithink they made a HUGE mistake

To various posters

To Lynn: Hate to break it to you, but times change. 2000 and 2008 are very different times. At one time, people were against interracial marriages and supported racism. That wasnt too far back. People are becoming less ignorant and pressing forward in the right direction. There is nothing wrong with being gay, you know it, and i know it. The only thing thats dangerous are right-minded Christians twisting to word of the Bible to support their bigotry. See my other post for reference to that.

To Jaime G: Im assuming you are latino like i am. At one time people said interracial marriages are unnatural. Would you like to go back to the time when only a latino man could marry a latino women, and no other race? Homosexuality is widely observed in nature itself and in animals, so the unnatural comment fails on so many levels. If you want me to, i can argue effectively against all 5 of your definitions of unnatural. Oh and your other argument, rape and murder have absolutely nothing to do with 2 loving, consenting adults. And gay people could say the same for you, keep your hetero sex out of sight as well then. It goes both ways.

So vote smart, vote NO on prop 8. Would you want to get married to someone you love, then have that taken away from you? vote NO on prop 8

Gay Marriage

This article, like so much of the media, is skewed. The majority of Californians do not agree with "gay marriage." We all know that "research" and polls can be skewed to say whatever you want it to say.

The subject of gay marriage should have been laid to rest in 2000 when 67% of California voters determined that marriage needs to be defined as, "between a man and a woman."

This subject continues to come up, because the very liberal California State Supreme Court Judges are pandering to homosexuals. These Supreme Court Judges have overstepped their authority in their stand against traditional marriage. Judges do not have the power to overthrow the will of the people, but that's exactly what these have done. It's not the issue of homosexual "marriage" but liberal judges who have taken on an authority and a power that is not theirs. THAT is what's really happening...

That being the case, what next will these judges take away from the people? This is a very serious matter, and shouldn't be tolerated. It's very dangerous.

Gay Marriages

Hello everyone. I never thought I would actually write something about this subject but here I am. At first I didn't know how I felt about gay marriages. Im 31 years old, Hispanic and I live in Los Angeles. Im Educated and making a decent living. I have gay friends and family who are dear to me. Im not religious although my mother wishes I were. With that said, I feel that gay marriages should not be allowed. I understand that it's two consenting adults who love each other. But it's not right. Man is supposed to be with Woman, its really that simple. I understand that Gays/Lesbians have unnatural feelings for the same sex. Now before you get upset and write mean things, allow me to clarify the word "unnatural";

Unnatural

1. In violation of a natural law.

2. Inconsistent with an individual pattern or custom.

3. Deviating from a behavioral or social norm: an unnatural attachment.

4. Contrived or constrained; artificial: smiled in an unnatural manner.

5. In violation of natural feelings; inhuman.

My favorite is definition #1.

In conclusion, Why is it that the gay community thinks its bigotry if we oppose gay marriages.

Definition of bigotry is:

a person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own

Are we bigots if we oppose the uncontrollable urges of a murder, rapist, or molestor?

I strongly feel that gays & lesbians should keep there unnatural feelings and ways at home and out of sight, and quit trying to make me feel bad for you being born broken.

Please excuse any gramatical errors. I wrote this in a hurry.

Thanks again,

Jaime G.

I Am An American

I am an American Citizen and a proud lesbian. I found love in England and always hoped to bring her home to be with me. We are now here but with so many people aposing gay marriage, it makes it so hard for her to be able to stay here for good.

Banning a right to marry someone one you love just becuase you are different to everyone else is ignorant.

How would people like it if a prop was put out that straight people couldnt marry? There would be an uproar. So why do it to us?

Gay marriage and tradition

I have absolutely nothing against gay marriages and believe that all who wish to opt into homosexual or lesbian partnerships of any form should have the right to do so. With regard to one of the surveys, it seems that we live in an age where the young are educated in such a way that they are more accepting and understanding of such issues. Often, due to tradition (which seems to have played a big part in everything from the women's movement to prize money in sporting events), some members of the older generation possess certain views which one may consider to be narrow-minded.

The modern age is a conflict between old views and new views, with situations perhaps having to be judged individually in order to come to a sensible conclusion. It is quite sad that so many people are still predjudiced against others; the way I see it, we are all people living on the same planet, and should therefore be treated and treat others with the same respect.

In a sense, certain members of the older generation cannot be blamed for their views, as that is simply the way they were brought up. I understand that their predjudice probably comes from part of the then society's views and beliefs, which witnessed many people discrimminating against homosexuals and those considered to be 'different'. If one is taught from a young age to believe something, it is no wonder that one will be somewhat reluctant to accept alterations and differences in society. Still, I am hopeful that in coming years, this will begin to change so that tolerance levels improve, and more people realise that there is no need at all to discriminate against anyone due to their sexuality, religion or background etc.

Civil marriage has nothing to do with religion. If it is against your principles to marry someone of the same sex or to marry someone of a different race or religion, that is your right. The Cal.Sup.Ct. interpreted the Cal. Constitution and said that same sex couples have the same rights as mixed gender couples when it comes to marriage. This has nothing to do with being able to have children as we allow men and women who are too old to have children or who are incapable or unwilling to have children to marry. It has nothing to do with marrying animals as I have yet to meet the chimp, dog or horse who can say "I do". That argument is an appeal to stupidity and emotionalism.

The simple fact is that all Californians, gay or straight can now marry the person they love and want to spend the rest of their life with. That is a good thing and it should not be taken away because someone's superstition or bias disagrees with the concept.

I am a Christian

I am a church going God fearing individual. However, I do not believe that you can use your religion to hurt others. You must not stop Gays from marrying. Gay people are people and have a Constitutional right to marry. Everyone does not believe in your religion . Church and state really need to be seperate( It is in legal terms but not to some over religious people) . A lot of people in the U.S. are taking this religion thing to far.....u can not infringe on other peoples right to do anything. This includes being gay and everything else YOU find immoral.

All opposers

listen all of you who may oppose this, WE (the gay community) ARE NOT GOING TO MOVE INTO CHRISTIAN NEIGHBORHOODS... like we would wanna live in a trailer park anyway.

gay marriage

it is actually very simple, if gay couples were meant to be together, two men, or two women should be able to reproduce naturally
