Race
Not everyone feels like they have a fair share of this country(equal status/respect). Maybe if we worked to change that, then there would be no problem.
When President Truman was prevailed upon to "visit Japan in a conciliatory manner just after V-J Day. He said, "I will go -- but I will not kiss their asses."
During the war I was the officer to whom blacks came for help -- especially when they got into trouble. I did all I could to help, as I have throughout my life. I do believe that our society has tried diligently to help blacks achieve, to be treated with respect - affirmative action, et al. Yet it seems as if too many blacks are still being taught by damagoguing leaders to believe they are simply victims -- deserving much more than others, better treatment, better opportunities, etc.
I have just about come to a conclusion similar to that of President Truman -- i.e.,
I will -------- but I won't ---------. (see above)
