Just a thought on the quoted statistics.... does the study have a ratio of crimes committed by White men ,compared to Black men and Hispanic men?...
The biggest "threat" to american Freedom is not a threat anymore it is already here it is called OPEC and it means that we have abandoned free enterprise with competition,.....the backbone of economic democracy and freedom from exploitation by the haves over the have nots.......philosophic and legal freedom add up to no freedom if economic freedom is not there and that is absolutely where we are now...and for how long will we be abused by OPEC before we start to Wake up? Re Minorities and their rights,they have the same rights that every one else has not more and not less....."Affirmative Action" may be a good experiment but has little to do with democracy and freedom.......in a democracy as anywhere else ,if people want to help themselves , God will help too......Cordially, Steve....

Is it possible that black men have a greater "chance" of being imprisoned because black men have a greater "chance" of committing a crime?

yes folks, a race war is coming soon to America. Nothing is going to stop it, no democrat, no liberal, no McCain, no precher, and all will feel its effect. Why? The seeds were sown long ago and the fruit is on the vine ready to eat. More white than not are fed up being blamed for the Civil War and salvery, and the blacks saying we owe them. Whites are tried of the reversed raceism among blacks, it was the white man who set the salves free, it was the white man who the blacks their rights in the 60;s, and it is the whites who have put Hussein Obama ahead of Clinton.

I'm a neighbour from the north (Canada--I've selected Montana because it's the closest to where Iive). It appears to me that decisions about racism are based on the perception of inequality. I can't speak about minorities (I'm majority--I think--or I used to be) but the benefits that minorities receive appear to significantly outweight what the majority receives. My perception is that I'm the one being discriminated against--and I'm financing that discrimination when I'd rather be using those funds to provide for my own future, which increasingly looks bleaker.
Today's American Slaves - YES- in the USA!!
1. They are forced to keep working, often at jobs they don't like, and if they don't, because of illness or injury or needing a change of job for their mental health, they still must pay a large amount of their AFTER TAX income to someone else. These men are someone's personal slave that is used to make life easier for them!
2. And that slave owner is supposed to use the money to perform parental tasks that often the slave could do cheaper and better himself. But because he is a man, he must toil and toil to pay the slave owner. And that slave owner does not even have to provide an accounting of how his money is spent!
3.If the slave becomes ill or is fired, he must pay the money anyways UNLESS he gets a good lawyer and and understanding judge to reduce his payments to the slave owner. This rarely happens - men are supposed to be tough and resourceful - no pity for American slaves!
4. If he fails to make a payment, his character is likely to be publicly attacked, and he can be branded for life with one of society's most degrading terms (not "Nigger"" You have heard the term often - its initials are D D.
5. Men of all races can be put into slavery, and if they fall too far behind on their payments (made monthly) our American "FREE" society can take away their driver's licenses and even send them to jail!!!!
6. There is very little support for helping these slaves improve their lives. Affirmative action laws and defacto "Quota" systems for hiring and promotion put American Slaves (especially white slaves) at the bottom of the rung.
7. The slave owners can help put these men into slavery by testifying in court that the men were abusive - even if it is a lie!!! And a woman who does this is rarely caught or punished. The women have banded together in many organizations to convince the press and the government that THEY are the oppressed and need slave income to help raise their children.
8. The death rate is probably higher for these men, of course, due to the stress of being a slave in America. But I know of no studies or support for such studies to measure the early deaths of American slaves. Some slaves simply break down mentally and even kill themselves, and maybe the slave owner or his own children. The pain is THAT great for some to be a slave in FREE America.
9. So who is the class of slaves in this great and free country? Maybe just a few illegals maybe??? No, it is your neighborhood DIVORCED DAD!
Maybe before our government fouls up our trade relations with countries like China in order to push an agenda of improving human rights in their country ( of course we are for the improved treatment of all humans on this earth), just maybe we should CLEAN UP OUR OWN ACT and address SLAVERY IN THIS COUNTRY!!!!
