Beefing Up Along the Border

Posted April 25, 2008

The Justice Department announced yesterday plans to add 64 new prosecutors along the southwest border.

The stepped up enforcement is expected to aid Operation Streamline, the government's program channeling illegal immigrants into the criminal justice system.

The program, which began in Del Rio, Texas, has expanded in recent months and is expected to grow further with the new positions.
