Troops In Iraq Until We Learn Our Lesson

The reason different regions want to be separately controlled is they want more control over their lifestyle. The solution is to create a lifestyle that can please all parties. The biggest obstacle the USA faces, is that it does not honor God's word, but lifts up people's freedoms above the word of God. Our indecency, immodesty and immorality stand in our way, blocking our efforts.

The solution is found in returning to the word of God to all prophets. None of Iraq or America's regions are living according to the word of God. God warns against debt, interest, insurance and seeking riches and honor; we are going the wrong way and exporting the wrong system. If we turn them back to God's word to them, we will find God is the God of the whole world. The Qur'an says to follow the whole Bible. Moses and Jesus said to live by every word of God. The Bible is a Puranas for the Hindus. There can be unity among all sections of Iraq, if we wanted God's word to rule.

O'Bama's plans for military withdrawl from Iraq...

It is all too apparent that insufficient strategy for this withdrawl did not include plans for suggestions for solutions regarding the ongoing conflict betwixt Kurds and Arabs. A conflict very similar to that between Arabs and the nation of Israel. Specifically, such conflicts seem to be part of human nature. "I want my own country and we will go to any lengths to get it" is the sort of mind-set so prevelant in third world countries.

What can be said? Did not the United States have similar beginnings? So, suggestions? Who among us can wiggle ourselvs into a respectable position to help negotiate some kind of peace between Kurds and Arabs? Because it sure doesn't work with Arabs and Israelis...it's like on once, then off-again at the drop of another missle fired into your neighbor's yard.

Kurds

Kurdistan straddles three countries: Iraq, Iran, and Turkey.

These are highly intelligent, fiercely ethnic people who deserve

their own country. If we don't want trouble with the Kurds and the Arabs, we should oversee the creation of an

independent Kurdistan. The Kurds have been trampled on

for far too long. (I am Scotch-Irish, not Kurdish.)

Classic Obama

This President is setting a record for double-speak -- saying one thing and doing another. Telling the American people there were no earmarks in the stimulus bill was another whopper. Now we discover we're not really going to get all the way out of Iraq -- but that doesn't stop Obama from making the claim. We passed a jobs creation bill for $ 850 billion dollars -- then discover only 25% of the money is going to be spent right away, despite Obama's promise to invest in "shovel-ready" projects.

It's already clear we have the emptiest of empty suits in the White House, and the disappointment levels with his incompetence will reach levels that will shock most of his supporters.

Withdrawal announcement timely

Obama’s withdrawal plan was a compromise between his own campaign promise and the Gen. Odierno in Iraq who wanted to keep as many troops in Iraq as possible. After the 2010 deadline there will still be 30-50,000 troops there that will mostly leave in 2011 the deadline set by the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). This is a good time to announce this as Iraq is still the number one foreign police concern of Americans according to the latest polling, and around 2/3 think things are going good there. If that feeling was reversed, Obama would probably be criticized for cutting and running. Another reason why this was good timing is because it shows that the U.S. is committed to withdrawal to Iraqis. In July 2009 there will be a referendum on the SOFA and if it gets voted down the U.S. will have one year to get out. Obama’s statements will help get past this as well. Still, you can expect several thousand U.S. troops to stay even past 2011 as advisors because Iraq is not capable of national defense from other countries right now.

On the issue of the Kurds-Arabs, that has bocme one of the biggest issues in the country. There is always the threat of violence, aftrall this is Iraq. What's more likely is that the Kurds will begin pushing for independence slowly but surely because they cannot achieve any of their goals anymore (annexing northern sections of the country, exporting their own oil) under the current Iraqi system. FOr five years they could pretty much do what they wanted, but now the political alliances have changed and the Kurds are on the outs.

What's the problem?

So what if we leave 50,000 people in Iraq? There are 25,000 American troops in S. Korea fifty years after the war. We left over 100,000 in western Europe for sixty years. It's a win-win situation. America gets to have soldiers at strategic points around the world. Our allies get the extra security of the world's greatest fighting force in case of an emergency.

And anyone who's saying keeping troops and treasure in Afghanistan is a waste is a fool. That's the exact mentality that kept American support from filling the vaccuum left by the retreating Soviets back in the '80s. A vaccuum that was filled by Al Qaeda resulting in 3000 Americans dead.

Iraq withdrawal timetable

I have said this before when Bush was still in Charge and now it's Obame whom I voted for draging his feet,He has to understand that many people voted for him to end this useless war,We wan't the troops and I mean all the troops home and ASAP

No need to keep 50.000 troops behind in that sandbox for training and support,we have done this for too long already,if the Iraqis can't hack it on their own they never will.I voted for this guy and now he start back peddeling,Let him know that we won't all the troops out of Iraq ASAP and not 19 months from now.The same thing in Afganistan we have to get out of there ASAP.We try to rebuild roads, schools ec and they blow everything up again.Remember the Rusians were fighting for 20 years and had to give it up,It's a no win situation. We have to get out now or you are going to pay for it for the next 20 years, while our economy is in dear trouble. Afganistan is another drain on our economy, all this has to stop now and not one or two years from now.Stop draging your feet Mr President
