Honor our soldiers
I have created something which is sooooo simple its not real lol
A page simply for people to leave their thanks and praise for soldiers involved in the conflict over middle east,
Some of the soldiers i know are now passing the website address around so the soldiers can see that there own countrymen and women are behind them
http://www.techwebsupport.com/Soldiers-At-War-h21.htm
Army wife's & their children's left behinds.
Thank you so much for this story! Us an Army wife with one child who's husband is deployed I can't even imaging how hard it is to be away from "my best friend my hero my husband who's my whole world" I know a lot of Americans don't support the war and I can understand that because we all want "WORLD PIECE" and the one's who gets pl aim for it are the soldiers, I just want every Americans to really understand that we need your support and show our soldiers respect and credit for what they stand for, and please remember we don't wake up next to our husbands every morning and celebrate holiday's with him and do what civilian people do every day life, we don't have that because our husbands are the one's who's watching our back to make sure were all save, We us the wife's of the soldiers and there children's deserve to be giving credit too because the family of the soldier's are the one's whose sacrifice their life's too. Thank you all and "GOD PLESS EVERY ONE AND EVERY WHERE NOT JUST USA"
Wonderful Article
Your story was very well written, and I thank you for going over there to bring this message to us. There is no way for many Americans to even begin to imagine what our troops go through daily to keep us safe, and to keep safe those who they are protecting in Iraq. We need to know how often these men and women (fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, grandchildren and cousins) put their own lives in extreme danger. They are all so brave and thanks can never ever be said enough. Pray for our troops! May God bless them until they all return safely home in the USA!
Memories
Alex:
I also thank you very much for this story. I read it with much interest and also want to thank you for making the long trip to Eastern Diyala. I served as an FA Captain with the 1st Infantry Division in 2004, and I was stationed at FOB Roughrider (no longer there) in the town of Mandali itself and later at Camp Caldwell outside Balad Ruz. I don't recall ever seeing a reporter make the long trek to visit us out in our lonely outpost. Each day, my unit partrolled the border area from Tursaq in the South up to Khanquin and Monteriya in the north. The border area was a beautiful, desolate and sometimes scary and haunting place. To know that we were travling the same ground where hundreds of thousand of Iraqi and Iranians lost their lives in brutal human-wave warfare was truly creepy, especially at night. Seeing all of those berms, trenches, mines and shellholes made you realize how brutal that previous war must have been. On a lighter note, I am surprised that you made no mention of the border castles that stand in stark contrast to the sandy plains. Those 1800s British-era border castles are spectacular. To CPT Bradley and his men, I wish you the best in your mission and your safe return from your tour. I know Diyala is a rough place, especially in the Al Nida area, but there are some good people in Mandali and Qazanyia, and I hope you can keep them safe and secure as well. If either of the ING Captain Jassim or the English speaking Mayor of Qazanyia are still around, please tell them that Captain Coleman says hello... and watch your wallet. Duty First, Walt Coleman
Thanks for this story!
As it was said in the previous comment, many times the media only focus on political aspects of this war. Very rarely are soldiers recognized for putting their lives in harms way day in and day out. This article was very well written and helps the average American really get a picutre of what these men and women are up against. Captain Bradley and his men are doing something so corageous and dangerous that the rest of us could never imagine what they really go through. They also do it without the want of glory and praise which makes it all the more noble. God bless all our troops and God bless the USA!
Thanks from the families
It isn't often that anyone over here hears about the GREAT JOB OUR SOLDIERS are doing over there. All we ever hear are negatives and judgements. It is really refreshing to know that there is at least one reporter and one magazine left that will take the stand and write about what these men and women go through on a daily basis. I know that the families are greatful to hear somebody give these guys some much deserved credit. I know as the sister of a soldier in Iraq that I really am greatful for stories like this that are from a soldier's view. It takes courage to go do what they do every day and EVERYONE should SUPPORT AND RESPECT that whether or not they agree with the war.
Good report, Alex
Alex,
All of my Sodliers were impressed that you came along with us on a mission. Most of them are used to seeing journalist in the 'Green Zone' that say that they are on the 'front lines' So we appreciate the effort on your part to tell the Soldier's story from the front.
I have to admit that I never even visited the site until you spent some time with us out here in Iraq. But since, I have read your stories in the Iraq Journal. They are well written.
Something you said struck a nerve with me, you said that you could tell by the amount of hits on the website that people are just not reading or are not interested in the Iraq war anymore, but knowing that, you still came all the way over here to bring back a story of the Soldiers just as you put it, "because you think it is still very important." Well the Soldiers in the truck with you that day (and myself) were encouraged and motivated just because you said that they were important enough to travel across the globe to write a story about.
I could not have prepared a more motivational, 'pump you up' 'get ready to fight the bad guys'speech that could have compared to that one comment taht you made to them.
I appreciate that.
God Bless,
CPT Bradley
