Impressed

Like most others, I learned what the Marines really do for us from this article. I didn't realize they played such a large role in everything that's going on over there. It's great that the violence appears to be going down, and I think that we should pull out very slowly when the time comes. I'm really impressed.

"Marines Ready To Step Back in Part of Iraq"

Alot of what is shown on the news in the U.S. are stories of violent, unfeeling iraqis bombing and killing mercilessly without reason. It's nice to read an article that brings to light all of the good our soldiers are doing in Iraq and that many insurgents have started to help keep the peace.

Marines In Iraq

I did not realize that the marines play such a big role in Iraq. So far they have helped eliminate violence because not as many people have been killed. The marines are doing all that they can to stop the violence and they are doing a good job of it so if they leave i hope they dont do it too quickly.

Marines

I did not realize how much the Marines actually did for our country. I think it is a good think that there aren't as many troops getting killed and they are decreasing violence more and more everyday. They violence could most likely be gone if the Iraqis in their home territory. But now that I understand what goes on and that the Marines are trying their best the prevent and stop the violence, I feel a bit more protected.

Marines ready to leave

Its amazing how much goes on over there that we never hear or see. I still believe that if we do leave we should do so slowly. If we don't I fear Iraq will fall backwards instead of forward. I hope and pray for every marines safety. Semper Fi.

Marines in Iraq

Everybody has made excellent points on the Marine's job over in Iraq. It really is amazing to learn about how much we don't see here. The marines are over there helping every second. Violence has gone down tremendously and we are greatful for this! I also didn't recognize how much of an impact the elections made on this whole thing. I still believe that we should leave Iraq, but if we are still causing a lot of good there, then maybe it doesn't have to be as rushed.

to wish all the marines luck for the next two years

marines

I agree with the comments made regarding what really goes on over there, i think it's amazing what the marines do for us. I also can not believe how much progress we are makin in iraq, especially in what used to be the two most violent provinces, for instance Ramadi!! I know it isn't "for sure" that violence won't occur again I feel more confirdent now that if it did the marines would be able to prevent/stop it.

"Marines Ready To Step Back in Part of Iraq"

I believe that the Marines are doing a great job. I never realized how much they really do for us and other people. I agree with other peoples' comments and thoughts of what really went on. Before reading this article, I thought that they just waited around for an attack, or to be attacked. I never realized how much work they actually do. I used to think that they just attacked the people in Iraq, when they are actually helping out certain Iraqi areas, and are lowering violence levels greatly. This article was very informative in helping me realize what really goes on, and I believe that we should leave soon, but only if it is stable and less violent.

This is my "Ah Ha" Moment

Before i read this article, i didn't realize how much the marines actually do for our country. Not to make myself seem ignorant, but i thought all they did was stay on ships all day and wait for an attack. this article opened my eyes to the real truths of this war we're in (since we don't see too much on t.v), and allow me to be another person who says " I'M SOO PROUD OF THE U.S. SOLDIER!!" they're doing a great job by reducing violence and keeping the Iraqis in check, but i also want to say " rest in peace to all the soldiers that were killed, we are proud". this article is a great eye-opener, and that was my Ah-ha moment.
