Why are we there
It does not matter why we are there, but how are we getting out there is no doubt that the Marines get the job done, but in my opinion i believe we are also there for the oil and to help the iraquies out.Semper fi
Why we are there
The whole reason the marines are there is because the army cant do their job. Marines are first ones in we fight battles not wars. Thats what the army, navy and air force are for. And to the Marines not getting coverage and low death toll is due to us being to busy kicking ass and taking names to be on tv. maybe if the army would stop worrying about the camera and just do their job the marines wouldn't be there any longer. Devil dogs keep it up and semper fi.
Troops in Afghanistan
Dear Editor,
I am responding to the Article " U.S. Marines Take On The Taliban In Afghanistan",about what the U.S. Marines are doing over there and how they are making a difference in Afghanistan because the truth is Marines are the ones that are getting the job done in Afghanistan. I also think that they should keep on doing what they are doing over in Afghanistan and defeat the Taliban. I think they are doing a great job and I know that they are making a difference.
GODS PLATOON
The guy in the middle (Lcpl Brandon Huff)is my best friend. Ive known him since I was two years old. He is home and safe.
us news COVERAGE
WHY DOES OTHER UNITS GET US NEWS COVERAGE AND THE US MARINES GET NO NEWS COVERAGE, THE US ARMY MUST BE DOING ALL THE FIGHTING AND OTHER COUNTRIES? THE MARINES ARE LEFT OUT OF THE FIGHTING AND HAVE NO CASUALITIES OR WOUNDED IN THE NEWS??
Former 1/6 Sgt
Ive served both in the Army and the Marines and I agree that it will take the Army to straighten things out in Afghanistan. However, I must point out that the Army has been there since the start of the campaign in Afghanistan and it is still not resolved. Marines are the American fighting force while the Army stands as its occupational force. This I have seen while serving in Fallujah and Ramadi.
There is a special reason why generals have decided to send the Marines back to Afghanistan and that I believe is get things done once and for all.
The Army deploys brigades of soldiers while the Marines send in battalion sized units to cover the same area.
Call it Marine Corps pride, but until youve served in both uniforms and see the fighting difference, please understand that there is no comparison.
History speaks volumes.
Thank you for the Truth
My son is deployed with the 1/6. I wonder what he is doing at times while I go about my day here in Nebraska. Your article gave me a window into what his days are like.
I am thankful and awestruck at the hardship and sacrifice that my son and his young unit have volunteered to endure in order to bring this backward country some hope. I know my son believes that the root of the 911 horror must be found and destroyed.
He has pledged all he has to defend our country. I am so proud of him and all those who give similar service. I pray for his success and safety and to be worthy of such a son. I understand the gift of THe Son of God through my son's journey. It seems that there has to be a better way to lift a nation. But right now the US Armed Services are doing the job of Atlas for the whole Free World. All on half rations and and no mail.
Prepare and pray for their success and safe return. Love never fails and America loves her service members. I love you Stoney. We send the best, USMC.
Marines take on the Taliban in Afghanistan
You can hyper up all the publicity you want about the Marines.
But your going to still need the U.S. Army to straighten out that country.
An old Army vet.
