Handful of Democrats Hold Key to Climate Bill

Climate change a lie
Climate change is more science fiction than fact; first let us look at the name… in the 1970’s these same “scientist” said a “New Ice Age” was coming based on the same model they would later use to declare “Global Warming” with, and now that a cooling trend has been proven the new name is “Climate Change.”
Before man existed there was climate change. How else would you explain all the ice ages and warming periods that this planet has gone through without mans help. What arrogant little insects we are to proclaim that we affect the weather now when we’ve never been able to before. Scientist are still trying to learn how to make it rain, still trying to understand the mechanics of a storm. They have come a long way in weather forecasting but they are still wrong quite often about what the weekend will hold.
Over 1300 world renowned scientist and climatologist have signed a petition wherein they stake their professional reputations on the fact that “Global warming/Climate Change” is a hoax.
I offer my own two cents to this, Al Gore, who has already gained millions from Climate Change, said that the Ice at the poles would melt and flood the world. OK, if you discover this statement is a lie will you at least doubt the rest? Here is some science you’ll like. To start get a glass of cool aid and add lots of ice as much as you like. Now place the glass on a table, use a napkin please, then go away for a while, or if you’ve nothing better to do you can watch it. When the ice melted did the glass overflow? I didn’t think so, that is because as water freezes it expands substantially, not only that it traps air inside the ice as well. Sorry Al, but you are a liar as proven with 3rd grade science.
Solar
I could power my entire block with the energy form my south roof. I sure hope they don't just turn technology the the citizens pay for to the big energy corporations.
But I'm not TOO excited about this; the Senate will mess it up as they always do, being bought and paid for by the big corporations that we bailed out.
People who don't think climate change is real are like people who still believe the earth is flat. Wait'll your relatives on the eastern seaboard are under water in more than their mortgages.
Perhaps many just don't want to believe that this little 6000 year experiment in MAN'S supremacy is hitting bottom.
Nonetheless, it's really already too late. We wasted 8 years with a president (Bush) who actually drove scientists out of this country.I don't know where the guy upstairs gets his info about Australia, They have been battling enormous wildfire for the last several years from climate change.
We reap what we sow, folks.
Elected Officals
Apparently the citizens of this country do not know what is good for us. Only our high elected officals do or do they? They met behind doors and not one US citizen has the opportunity to approve or disapprove with a bunch of people that have forgotten that they are work for the people of this country. There is no common senses. I do not believe for one minute that our elected officals care. There are no more ethics, principles or honor. Only greed and who's buy out who for favors.

Climate Change
This large 1200 page bill is another bill similair to TARP that is being rushed through congress without debate or public review. Australia reconsidered climate change and rejected the idea after 700 scientist invaladated the psuedo science.
The Carbon Cap and Trade should be rejected as another way for the Government to tax and spend. The cost will cause more job losses. Coal fired electric plants will be force to close, mines will close and jobs will be lost at rail roads that deliver the coal.
Wind and solar are not suitable to supply base power to the electrical grid. The country needs an energy supply to furnish power 24 hours a day, every day.
This bill should not be rushed through. It should be post poned and analyzed throughly.
bob
Actually, Allen, this bill will save most Americans money on their energy bill and it will eliminate the need to import billions of dollars of oil from countries that hate us. Quite frankly, I don't see how any American concerned about national security can oppose that. And yet, watching the House floor debate, I see that every Republican speaker so far has opposed energy independence.
For shame.
Climate Bill
Ben Franklin famously coined the idea of "Penny Wise, Pound Foolish" - and that is the Republican position on this important bill that would catch us up with the global trend and push industries towards green green, making money via environmentally sound means and goals. Caught as so much of Washington still is somewhere in the 20th century, it is time for the new realities of a changing world to sink in, while we still have a moderately stable world to deal with. We hold these truths to be inconvenient, yes, and they may cause short term pain--but that has always been the problem with Washington and many businesses, all caught up in the short term. We must think about where we will be in 10, 20, 30 years, yes a time when most of our Congress will be pushing up daisies--but even more important, we must start NOW to plan for that future, one that will inconveniently have to go through an ecological transition, where the true costs of things are paid, not farmed out to future generations as environmental externalities. In this little planet there are no longer externalities, just deferred costs; we are all part of ONE SMALL PLANET and we have to set up the incentives that move us towards its care, unless we really do not care. Do you care? I interpret, and many citizens now take a vote against the Climate Bill as a vote against care for the planet, for our future, and our continued prosperity in a brave new world. Please tell your representatives in Congress, regardless of party, GET WITH THE CENTURY YOU ARE IN! The same old alternative will give the same old results, and that we literally cannot live with. The Climate Bill is the climate we are in, come in out of the cold and support it.
A Vote For New Taxes
This is a vote for big new taxes on everyone. Remember at election time who raised your taxes! Time will tell that you are paying more for something with no tangible benefits. What has happened to our leaders, have they lost their minds?
