I personally have nothing against Senator Clinton. However, I just believe that there is a reason that this article came up, ESPECIALLY NOW, and in the same context as individuals who had questionable character, WHO HAD TO "REARRANGE THE LAW", to accomplish what they wanted, and look at their outcome! We need to pray for President-elect Obama. We need to pray for him to receive God's Wisdom, because He (God) is the one who makes the crooked way straight and who is the revealer of secrets. He knows the end of the matter from the beginning, and indeed, knows the thoughts and intentions of the hearts of men. (the heart is the seat of motivation) Who better to ask for Wisdom, clarity and direction than Him. God is faithful, He will Honor those who Honor Him. God wants His children to have the best and so we need to pray for His perfect will. (And to Bind up the counterfeit! and loose the the Real one according to His truth to receive the position.) If indeed it is her,(Senator Clinton) then God will take care of her activity as we pray for those in leadership and for God's love, protection wisdom, discretion, discernment and understanding to embrace them so that indeed the law goes forth in righteousness embracing, Integrity in Motives, in Attitudes, in Purpose, manifesting in INTEGRITY OF CHARACTER across the board, resulting in loyalty to God first and Country.

For those of you who are commenting negative falsehoods against Senator Clinton, excuse me, Madam Secretary, you must be republicans with nothing good to say about any Democrat. She is clearly the best choice. He didn't pick her as V.P. as her knowledge, experience, diplomacy and hard work makes her a better fit as Secretary-of-State. She will shine in that position, as she does in every position. When we look back in a few years, we'll get to say to her detractors, "We told you so" as her accomplishments will be many I am sure. Barack Obama’s decision to name Hillary Clinton the Secretary of State post could well turn out to be his first major blunder, for these obvious reasons:

First, there’s the inseparable bond with her husband Bill. Given the duo’s unquenchable thirst for power, they would not be content to play second fiddle. From day one they would be scheming to usurp control of the White House. Once they get a foothold, Obama would be hard-pressed to rein them in.

Then, there’s the Clintons’ long history of corruption, deception and sleaze—Whitewatergate, Pardongate, Cattle-futuresgate, Chinagate, Filegate, Fellatiogate, the using of uniformed marines as waiters, the plundering of White House property, the Impeachment and near conviction, the punitive IRS audits, the violent deaths of potentially incriminating witness. This alone would provide Obama’s enemies with all the grime they needed to smear his presidency.

Consider further that unlike a Condoleezza Rice or a Madelaine Albright—not to mention bona fide statesmen like Henry Kissinger, Dean Rusk and John Foster Dulles--Hillary Clinton lacks the educational and cultural gravitas to represent our nation abroad. Her lawyering in Arkansas and stint in Congress doesn’t quite cut it. She did get 18 million votes in the Democratic primaries, probably more than Obama, but a large proportion of those votes were cast by diehard feminists and the less educated, hardly the constituency whose support lends credibility to a Secretary of State.

Barack Obama should recall the reasons why he didn’t choose Hillary as his VP running mate. For his and the nation’s sake, let us hope that she changes her mind and spurns the Secretary of State offer. Her coyness in reaching her decision--making Obama beg, in effect--is already an ominous sign.

In case you've forgotten, both Condoleeza Rice and Madeline Albright are women. We've had a female Secretary of State for eight of the last twelve years, so why the sudden uproar? I am personally quite excited for Clinton as the Secretary of State, as she -does- have the experience necessary, and is quite popular abroad. Most of my friends in other countries adore her. This will make foreign relations talks go much more smoothly with her.

And by the way, your analogy doesn't work either. You can use a slot screwdriver in a Phillips head screw if you have to. You just can't use a Phillips screwdriver in a slot-head screw.

Finally, for your own sake, please learn to type using proper capitalization. When you use all caps you just look like you're screaming, and people are less likely to even read what you have to say.

erm... the middle east's view of women?!

Did everyone forget or did people just now know that the muslim country of Pakistan freely elected Benazir Bhutto to prime minister. the fact she was assassinated has more to do with her father, and the US support of the recent Pakistani administration than her being a women. so the middle east dealing with a female Secretary of State...maybe the country with poor opinion of women is in fact yours?

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is more likely disaster than change. Frank is correct that she has no real experience--she and her husband have always overstated her experience. This is called arrogance--and the biggest thing we need to change is our image of extreme arrogance.

Further I agree with Debbie that a woman as Secretary of State at this point, given the most important issues and players, is not the most effective choice. Please utilize the many very well qualified American women in all the other Cabinet seats, but not State. However, in the event of what may be a foregone conclusion, may I suggest a sawal kameez as the alternative to Senator Clinton's pantsuits--comfortable, elegant, feminine, and culturally sensitive. Win-win.

Please keep Senator Baucus in the Senate--his role in making sure that health care reform is financial responsible is crucial to the long term success of fixing our very broken system.

Are you seriously saying that a women cannot hold high positions in our government? In addition, many 3rd world countries have elected female presidents so they will definitely recognize a women in a pant suit. With her experience, Hillary will be a wonderful secretary of state.

Also, yes, you did not vote Hillary to be president and she isn't president; Obama is. So what is there to complain about?
