President Elect Obama Transition Team

President Elect Obama and Transition team,

Thank you for being prepared to run this country. I am sure that you have been thinking about how to hit the ground running in January. I will pray for the officers of your transition team that they will support you with the best advice and efforts they can muster to bring a new type of government to Washington D.C. I have one comment for you all to consider.

Every day during this long campaign when I discussed my belief in Mr. Obama I got the same reaction, it was first from other democrats and then even from Republicans who eventually, timidly voted for this presidency…. "Yes, it sounds great, but when they get elected everything stays the same." I know it is going to take time to repair the damage to our economy, our reputation, and to restore Americans trust in government. I believe the seed of that hope starts today as you all prepare for the journey ahead. I believe you will not let us down.

Please protect Mr. Obama from harm, I pray each day for his safety, and success as our new Commander in Chief.

Just Like JFK only Better???

JFK surrounded himself with brilliance which was the key to Camelot, he picked the best and brightest from industry, academics and society to not only start his administration but unite America during Cold War events, economic challenges and demoralizing social upheaval. BHO has opted to follow the same recipe for success thereby putting America First by uniting our nation before branching out on any personal agenda. That is why I term the new BHO era as Shangri-La, an era of good feeling, healing our nation and reinstating the American Dream by repairing the American Spirit. As we are now enmeshed in war, economic upheaval and a pleathora of challenges both foreign and domestic, we pray that our new President succeed in all his endeavors to the betterment of our nation. As he has just begun it is far too early to tell yet all indications are that he is on the right track thus far. May America provide him strength and turbocharge his spirit!!!

If African American Speeches Did Not Exist

If African American Speeches did not exist.

Then the speech I have a dream

By Rev. Martin Luther King

Would not have become Americas civil rights theme

or

What Frederick Douglass stated

Which would have been a lost

Stand by those princple

Be true to them, On all occasions

In all places, Against all foes

at whatever cost

If African American Speeches did not exist

Booker T. Washington Could not insist

That the laws of changeless justice

Bind oppressor with oppressed

And close as sin and suffering joined

We march to fate abreast

or

Sojourner Truth Ain't I a woman

Would not have been heard

nor Shirley Chisholm or Rosa Parks

Most eloquent famous words

If African American Speeches did not exist

The different cultures in the world, would not have met

Langston Hughes or Mary Mcleod Bethune,

WEB Du Bois, just to name a few

Thurgood Marshall against the Supreme Court Judges

And now Barack O'bama's Speech

when he accepted the Democratic endorsement

If African American Speeches did not exist

Where would we be as a society

This poem could not even fit

Because this is an African American Speech

Through the art of poetry
