Campaign 2008

McCain Fails to Trip Up Obama Over Joe the Plumber

Eye-rolling demeanor signaled McCain's frustrations in the last presidential candidates' debate

What is the McCain vetting process

The selection of Joe the Plummer as an example of the average American small businessman by the McCain Campaign seems to share the same vetting process when it chose Governor Palin as his running mate.

Rev, Wright or wrong

Obama sat in a church for 20 years, thats right, twenty years and states that he never heard any of the racial sermons that the Rev.Wrong gave. I don't think so! I guess he never knew that Farrakhan is the king (small letter "k")of racism and has been preaching it for years. The Rev. Martin Luther King was and is a KING.

I don't thing we need Obama in the White House, besides it is above his "pay scale."

I guess his mother never told him that you are "JUDGED BY THE COMPANY YOU KEEP."

If there were no trip-ups why the incredible interest in Joe by the media, and presumably Obama's campaign?

Does he have a license?

Does he owe taxes?

Who cares?

Just go tit for tat with him on the issues and move along!

Oops, I forgot, Obama's "spread the wealth" comment was so damning that the best counter-attack was to villify the poor dude from Ohio.

Learn your talking points, stick to the script, and leave the average American alone! Otherwise your best bet is to advise Odinga on how to "radicalize" his career!

McCain is Not Bush!

The one thing I can say about Bush is that he always let you know where he stood. McCain is all over the place on any given issue. McCain is a maverick and this may not be what America needs. Palin is a weak choice when looking at our problems. Although she is very funny and America needed a good joke.

We need more jobs and better wages . Our taxes are too high. Some conservative ideas are good. But the value issues are for the individual and not the government or politicians. Free tax zone will be great. If I did not pay so much in taxes I could have a great financial life.

Obama must select the best ideas on both sides. He must also look at the independents as well. He must assemble the best thinking on our priorities. People like George Will and John Baker would be sound thinkers on key issues. Bring back Bob Dole a great American. George Bush Sr. is a good person. John Kerry is another good person on the issues. America will need to pull together for the future in new ways. This can be done if only we have the will to do so.

The American Flag Pin

I am wondering how McCain is getting away without the American Flag on his lapel -- Just as months ago such a rumble was made when Obama was seen without one on his lapel a couple times.

Muslimization of America

There you go again with the Muslim thing. Barack Obama could not have been a member of Jeremiah Wrights Christian church and be a Muslim. Any Muslim caught in a Christian church would be subject to the death penalty by most Islamic standards. It goes to show you that most of McCain's supporters are ignorant of the facts and will take rumor and run with it.

Repeating a rumor over and over again will not give it believability as McCain supporters evidently believe it will.

The Ayers thing is another untruth in the rumor mill. Don't forget that Obama was just an eight year old child and, I think, he and his mother were living in Indonesia when Ayers was active in the Weather Underground. He served on a couple of committees with Ayers and had a casual relationship, at best, with him. Now tell me, when does a person believe in and espouse an ideology of a mere casual acquaintance; they were certainly not bosom buddies.

The Acorn organization is another casual association that is widely disseminated without even a semblance of veracity involved. Barack Obama represented Acorn in a couple of legal transactions, and in one of them Obama's oo-council was the U.S Justice Department.

The problem Acorn has is they pay people to sign up potential voters to be registered, but in their zeal to make money those who work for Acorn (people off the street) make up names or use dead peoples names or use the telephone book to get the names that they turn in. Acorn then submits those names to the registrar of voters; at this stage many are found to be fraudulent thereby giving Acorn a bad rap. Merely representing an organization in a legal matter does not confer membership in that organization.

All of these allegations and innuendos could have proven to be untrue with just a cursory examination of the facts.

In closing, it is evident that McCain and his running mate and their supporters are not interested in arriving at the truth. They hear about a supposition, rub it vigorously, throw it out there and then pray that Obama is magnetized enough to make it stick.

P.S. If Obama Is elected no one has to worry about the country turning Socialist. Remember, he has surrounded himself with capable advisers, both Democratic and Republican, which indicates to me that his cabinet and other political appointees could very well be bipartisan. He is a very intelligent man and is not interested in changing our basic political structure as a republic, nor would he have the power to do so.

He would, as President, be constrained to operate within the confines of the Constitution and other legal considerations of our great country.

The changes he speaks of are also possible within the same aforementioned confines.

Changes that will benefit the middle-class and lower class, so that all Americans can reap the benefits of our great country and not just those who are wealthy and empowered.

Rainey of UT

You need to look at history. What party has basically been in charge for the last 2 years? The DEM's, that's who. FreddieMac and FannyMae became trouble when they were forced to take up non Qualified loans by the CLINTON administration. So, I don't see where you elitists come off saying all of this is Bush's fault. No, I am not a great fan of President Bush, but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. The office of the President is not the most powerful office in the USA. The Senate and Congress can do more damage than the President. Back in 2005 John McCain and other Republicans tried to get a bill through to tame the 2 FM's. Where were the Democrats? Sticking their heads in the sand just like they did recently when citizens were clamoring "DRILL, BABY, DRILL". So you elitists need to watch where you are pointing your fingers, it might come back to haunt you.
