Just the Facts, Ma'am
Forget the character attacks, however deserved or not. Let’s deal with the actual issue that was raised. Here’s a relevant excerpt from the conservative Wall Street Journal’s article of OCTOBER 17, 2008, 'As Joe the Plumber Grows Famous, the Politics Get Murkier':
"To reach a level that would be affected by Sen. Obama’s proposed tax increase, Mr. Smither said, a mom-and-pop plumbing company like Newell would have to clear $5 million in annual sales. [Joe’s company actually reports only $100,000 in sales.]
Even if Mr. Wurzelbacher reaped taxable income from his business of $280,000 a
year, he'd pay only about $900 more a year in taxes under Sen. Obama's plan, which
would raise the tax rate on the income between $250,000 and $280,000 to 36%
from 33%.

If Mr. Wurzelbacher earns the wages of a typical Ohio plumber, $40,600, and holds a $90,000 mortgage, he would see a TAX CUT (emphasis added) under Sen. Obama's plan of more than $1,000, compared with no tax reduction under Sen. McCain's.
If he succeeds in buying the plumbing business where he works, he could see even more tax benefits, including Sen. Obama's proposed elimination of capital-gains taxes for small-business investment, a 50% tax credit to purchase health insurance for employees and a $3,000 tax credit for every new hire over the next two years."
Other issues and ‘things we wish were true’ aside, it’s better to acknowledge facts and deal with them objectively, at least from our end. And let’s not be distracted by whether Joe ‘padded his resume’ in order to get the answer to a question in which he was interested … what matters in the TOPIC, not that Joe wasn’t entirely on the up-and-up.

Re: the Ledbetter example and Sen. Obama's plea for equal pay. A quick check of Legistorm.com details what each of the candidates pay their senate staffs. I find it amazing that Sen. John McCain's Legislative Director is a WOMAN who makes $65,298 while Sen. Obama's Legislative Director is a MAN making $60,000. Maybe Sen. Obama's guy should negotiate for equal pay...
PS to Jimmy of TX...last I checked the Dems have been running things the last 2 years (legislative branch writes laws, not the executive)...plus, who's been in charge of the Banking Committee and all that has gone on with Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae?...hmmmm Barney Frank, a long time Dem. The fundamentals of our do economy work when the government is less involved and take less of YOUR (and my) money in the form of taxes.

There are ongoing litigations to collect back taxes from Joe The Plumber. You may check this fact for it is true.
Joe is not a liscensed plumber in a State that requires it. Also a fact.
Joe's salary is about $40K per year and his taxes would not be raised with the Obama Plan.
If Joe has the money to purchase the business where he works I a suppose the IRS would like to know.
Joe is closely attached to pro Republican organizations and most likely never had intentions of voting for Obama
He could have attended the Obama Rally with the purpose of irking Obama. If he did he problbly got more exposure than he had hoped for. He is most likely now under close scrutiny by agencies that could do him harm.
All you Obama moonies should take a valium and a good look at yourselves. Frothing at the mouth because some plumber dares to point out that your Messiah doesn't actually walk on water.Not all of his media stooges and their cooked polls will be able to help your wretched candidate on election day.He will look even more pathetic than Tom Dewey, assuming all of you highly educated Obama freaks know who Tom Dewey actually was.

Joe the Plumber is just a regular guy. He is an employee whom is trying to start his own plumbing business by buy the plumbing company from his current boss. How many of you want to start your own businesses? Almost everyone that I know of dreams of owning their own business. And why? To make more money. Why? Because with more money you have an opportunity to provide a better quality of life for yourself and loved ones. Isn't that the American Dream?
Some of you may not want to run your own businesses. Some of you would much rather work at your jobs and be happy and satisfied with a weekly pay check
, that is perfectly fine. As long as you are paid enough to meet your financial obligations and have enough money left over for emergencies, all is well. The Worker is as important as the Business Owner.
If you or I were to start a small business, you would want to make your business grow so that you could hire more workers (the whole idea of owning a business is to make money, right?)Under Obama's Tax Plan, you would receive assistance (tax cut) for your new small business. But, the moment that your business earns $250,000, Obama says that you now have to pay a 39% Tax on that money that you and your employees earned. After deducting your business expenses like saleries, utilities, rent, marketing and advertising, materials, permits and license fees... what ever is left over is a whole lot smaller than what you started with. Then, from what ever money is left over, Obama's Government will claim $97,500 from you! Can any small business grow and expand with kind of financial load? Not in this bad economic climate. This is not a time to raise taxes. On anyone. Especially on businesses. If the cost of doing business were to go higher, then the amount of available cash to pay workers and expand business would be much less. This would affect the number of people that could be hired (or kept)and the types of salaries you would see. Not good for business, not good for employees like me.
Anything that will raise the cost of doing business will slow down business growth, lower or freeze wages, increase unemployement, drive up the cost of goods, chase away big businesses to other countries seeking lower costs operating operating their businesses...
Oh, and don't forget about the Obama "one-size-fits-all" Healthcare Plan that we will be forced accept. If you don't like the Health Plan that you are offered, "Too Bad" says Obama, he thinks that what is good enough for your neighbor should be good enough for you and yours. Do you think so?
What about the Tax breaks and Incentives for Small Business Startups? What good is it to get Federal Aid to start a new business if Obama's Government will be there waiting for that business to grow and earn more than the magic number to be slammed with a high Tax? Why does Obama want to punish those businesses that well? Why does Obama want to force a single Health Plan on all of us? He is a Socialist...
The major difference is that unlike Lilly Ledbetter, Joe the plumber is no doubt having his garbage sifted right now by Obama's Gestapo and 219 "reporters" sent by the MSM looking for something to smear him with.Asking embarrassing questions of His Excellency must be severely punished or, who knows, it could become a trend
