No Game-Changing Moment for John McCain in Debate Against Barack Obama

What Are Obama's Qualifications??

David,

It's not only Obama's close connection with people who have committed terrorist acts against our country and people who are proven and admitted racist/separatists; it is Obama's proposal that America submit to some sort of Euro-socialist economy in place of a free market economy, Obama's willingness to sit and talk to the leaders of international terrorist groups and rogue nations without preconditions, and his utter contempt for those of us who have defended this country by saying that Iraq was a mistake even though more international terrorists and more of Osama bin Laden’s top operatives from Morocco to Indonesia and all points in between were killed and captured there ... in Iraq... than all other locations combined. Now that the Iraq War is winding down and al-Qaeda in the heart of the Middle East is mauled and in retreat, Obama quips with the statement; "Well...uh...you know...we still haven't got Osama bin Laden; and maybe we ought to send more...uh...troops to...you know, uh...Afghanistan." Well, obviously, foreign policy and national defense are definitely not Obama's forte? I personally can't see why any American; regardless of race, would vote for that clown.

Obama, the intellectual vs McCain the veteran

If we want a person who is an intellectual who has developed great rhetorical skills as a college professor and who would have us believe, as Oprah Winfrey said, he is "the one" who can save us from ourselves, then we should vote for Barack Obama. If we want a person of proven character who has many years of experience and a positive record of dealing with politicians, the military, the leaders of other countries, and the citizenry, then we should vote for John McCain.

Take McCain's advice (from the debate) and look at the candidates' voting records and what they have supported as provided by independent organizations. Listening to a mainstream media (MSM) that is reportedly over 90 percent democrat and liberal lends itself to biased reporting and analysis and an uneducated citizenry.

Presidential and Vice Pres. Candidates

Why isn't anyone in the news or on here talking about Sarah Palin's witch doctor????

Presidential Debates

After last night, I'm voting for "That Guy"!!!

Obama and his history.

Obama sat in the Wright's so called church for about twenty years listening to Wright rant and rave about white people and most recently curse America. He never said a word against Wright until he started to run for president and in fact defended Wright until he found it might cause him problems. Guess what kind of a president he would be if elected. I can understand the blacks voting for Obame but a white would have to be a complete idiot.

MR.OBAMA

I WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE TONE AND THE WAY MR. OBAMA

HANDLED HIMSELF IN THE DEBATE. INSTEAD OF KNOCKING SOMEONE

DOWN HE WAS VERY DIRECT AND CLEAR WITH WHAT HE WANTED TO DO AS

PRESIDENT.I THINK THAT WAS IMPORTANT SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AND NOT JUST TALK I THINK HE WAS VERY FOCUSED AND TO THE POINT AND THAT'S WHAT WE NEED TO HEAR. I THINK HE PROVIDES GREAT LEADERSHIP THE ABILITY TO LEAD AND WORK FOR ALL PEOPLE NOT JUST THE RICH BUT FOR ALL PEOPLE OF EVERY RACE. GOD BLESS

If The Shoe Fits ...

Ann of IA,

Interesting that you are one of the dwindling holdouts that deny Obama's already proven connection to William Ayers who was a close mentor of [a then] young Obama and is still maintaining a very close and friendly relationship. Likewise, the whole country was shocked and disgusted at Jeremiah Wright's video taped rants of hatred and racism and separatism toward white America. The most despicable behavior came from the fist waving howling parishioners in the pews that the Obama’s would normally sit. Being of a racially blended family, I certainly took offense; perhaps it just went over your head. Finally, the Republicans that you mentioned as recipients of Freddie and Fannie money aren't running for president. In fact, if they were bigger recipients than Biden and Obama, perhaps they should be investigated with Biden and Obama and hopefully imprisoned together. So yes, I and a growing number of Americans question Obama's "expertise" in foreign policy and economics; shouldn't we? Shouldn't you?

McCain

There have been two Presidential Debates and McCain didn't wear his American flag pin. What's the reason for that?

No Game Change

Last night's debate was an opportunity for both candidates to give americans their vision for our country's future.

Sen. McCain spent most of his time, attacking Sen. Obama, instead of answering many of the questions. What was that remark about "nailing jello to a wall"? If you have no solution, just find fault with your opponents? All of Sen McCain's new ideas have been taken from the Obama campaign. He has not mentioned the middle or working class "one time" during the last two debates. For someone promising "change", he spent a lot of time dwelling on the past (Ronald Regan, Teddy Roosevelt). His ideas on foreign policy seen a carbon copy of this past he fondly remembers. From his statements last night, "Winning" in Iraq is more important to Sen. McCain, than the financial decline of the american family. He attacked Sen. Obama's plan for an oil-free energy policy, while presenting no real alternative. I felt that he insulted the intelligence of the amercian voter, who wanted him to lay detailed plans for our country's future.

Sen. Obama was forced to spend time defending himself against attacks, that would have been better spent, giving more details of his plans for the future. I found his explantion of why the rescue plan was necessary, clear and easy to understand. His ideas for a healthcare plan seems more affordable that the tax credit promised by Sen. McCain. $5,000.00 will not cover my individual plan, much less a family. His desire for a new and fresh approach to foreign policy, is reasurring. He made a clear case of how the Iraq war is draining our economy at a time when the billions per month is needed at home.

After the debate, the Obamas stayed to interact with the audience members, while the McCains, sprinted from the hall ASAP! Wasn't Sen. McCain the one to "challenge" Obama to these "town hall" type meetings? Why did he treat the audience like they had something contagious?

If we americans want to "Change the Game", Sen. Obama is the clear, intelligent choice.

Ann Marie,Naperville

It will not be a game-changing time for McCain/Palin because they both chose the wrong path. McCain at a rally made remarks about Obama's "ties" to terrorrist and asked the crowd who is Obama and then laughed when they called Obama "A Terrorist!" inciting the crowd with his incredible lies. Then later Sarah Palin, our Christian conservative, hockey mon and pitbull with lipstick, incited a crowd with her vicious lies comparaing Obama to terrorists and laughed when the incited crowd started yelling, "Kill him, kill him!" I don't see this as making points or clarifying where they stand in this failing economy where almost a million people have lost their jobs in this year alone, where millions are losing their homes due to the Republican Party's push for deregulation of the banks, where 47 million or more people have no health insurance. No, I would not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket--if they lie to the American people during a campaign what will the do in office? That is not the kind of leadership we need or want in America. We just had eight years of lies and deception and distraction--we need strong leadership...that is not the McCain/Palin ticket.
