Why are you guys running with the people that you are and way would you run and also what do you think you can do for th united states?

Jared from MA

I would have to completely agree with Jared who posted an article earlier when he said, "Things may not change that much, and if McCain is in office people will say oh its just all those republicans. But if Obama wins and nothing changes, the excuse will be oh we inherited too much for him to fix." Politics is so innately personal, people seem to choose their candidates with unreserved self-righteousness while acting as a lynch mob for anyone who opposes them. Regardless of who wins in a month, the government is supposed to be ruled by the people and not a political candidate. So maybe swallowing our pride a little bit and working more towards a middle ground would be a positive move

Palin - Biden debate

She did say that a "toxic mess on Main Street has moved to Wall Street". Did she mean it the other way around or did it actually represent the way she feels about this issue?

Palin

We have two well educated men, one a college professor of law and the other a graduate of Columbia and Harvard and 12 years as a Constitution Lawyer.

Or....we have McCain who graduated 895th out of a class of 899th and a dingbat that went to 5 colleges to get her one journalism degree.

No brainer for me. Running for President and Vice President require people to have a few smarts.

mary from montreal

Just want to say, Mary, who has the comment under me, you don't make yourself sound very intelligent especially when spelling things incorrectly. We have not gone THREW anything, its we have gone THROUGH. Also, just because she has not made herself look that smart, she is obviously way more intelligent than you are seeing how she is a governor and somebody with the experience of McCain,( who has way more experience than Obama) picked her. God save America you say, well regardless who is wins, people will complain. Things may not change that much, and if McCain is in office people will say oh its just all those republicans. But if Obama wins and nothing changes, the excuse will be oh we inherited too much for him to fix. So before you go criticizing people that are way more intelligent than you, get your facts straight and learn to spell.

what are Americans thinking

I really don't understand, the American people have gone threw so much in the past 8 years, and they would actually even consider electing someone like Sarah Palin into the White house. I believe the only reason McCain choose her as his running mate is because he dosen't really want to win this race, for if he really cared about his country, he would of chosen someone with more experience to replace him if something should happen to him. Not someone who has become the laughing stock of the WORLD.America dosen't need a hockey mom or Joe six pack running the country, they need A LEADER to get them out of their mess.GOD SAVE AMERICA

Forget treating Gov. Palin with kid gloves

Sarah, you are obviously a very ambitious politician, who has the hubris to think she is qualified to be "a heartbeat away." Therefore, since you think you can make it in the biggest political league, where the stakes for American and the world are enormous, stop making excuses, such as "how long have I been at this? Like five weeks?" Well, your running mate contends that there should be no on the job training for president. Likewise for qualifying to be and being vice-president. So, stop thinking that winking makes it OK not to answer pointed and relevant questions about policy and qualifications, and stop asking to be treated gently because you're a woman and because you have no national or international political experience. Enough of the double standard. Neither you nor any candidate for such high office warrants kid glove treatment, especially one who, like you, speaks with an acid tongue and engages in such negative campaigning.

Experience you must be kidding?

Whatever your affiliation you are talking about a VP candidate. Sarah has some executive experience Obama has none, it is just a fact. Obama has 143 days (most spent campaigning) of Senatorial experience never been an executive anytime, anywhere. I wish he was "a heart-beat away from the Presidency". As a VP Obama may be a good choice but the people who back him on emotion are ridiculous, he has no experience.

No corporation in the world would hire Obama for any executive job, there is no need to argue, the first question in any interview would be "So, Mr. Obama. what experience do you have for this job?" "Oh, I see, no management experience, please let me show you the door". (managing a campaign is not executive experience, period)

Neither McCain nor Biden have executive experience. (obvious)

I would be much more comfortable if Biden was the presidential nominee. His views are far left but at least he has been around for many years and has experience. I doubt Biden and I would agree on anything but he has been involved with foreign leaders and governments for years. I would dare say a President Biden would make people breath easier.

Why is the Media focusing so hard on the VP selections when we all know the VPs impact is nearly irrelevant in the voting process and even less on executive decisions after the election.

Both Palin AND Obama are NOT experienced enough for the positions they are seeking. But Barak IS going to be the decision maker to learn on the job. If Palin needs some training she has the decision maker to talk to, she will not be the decision maker.

It was supposed to have been a debate

Sarah Palin flunked. In a debate, you are supposed to answer the questions asked. Before she had even heard a single question, she said she would pick which questions to answer. This was to prepare the viewer because she knew there would be topics that were simply beyond her understanding. Having tried to bluff her way past such questions in the past and failed, she has learned it is better to change the topic. She is not prepared to be a heartbeat away.

Response to anonymous @ 13:29:58 PM

I thought Sarah's wink was friendly, not flirty. That's how it is when a man does it. And I don't believe in sexism. Women are their own worst enemy, always attacking women who make it higher than themselves.
