I don't know where the polling data used in this article came from, and it would be important to know where it was taken and the margin of error, but here in the Heartland Palin's star is still blazing! Republicans I know are still stoked about the decision McCain made about his running mate and about McCain's chances to win the election over Obama.

Obama is an empty suit trying to raise the idea that race and racism still matter in American politics and if you don't vote for him, you're a racist. He says nothing until McCain or his campaign offer solid solutions for today's problems be they economic, national security, or the war on terror. Obama is still running that same old tired Democratic playbook rhetoric that promises everything but delivers nothing but higher taxes, class envy, and bigger government. He has a base, to be sure, but that base simply isn't big enough to win this election for him. So he has to appear to be moving to the political middle in order to garner the votes needed to put him past McCain. And Sarah Palin is still the next big thing in American politics; you just wait! Palin's "star is fading?" In a pig's eye!

Mediocrity not Inexperience is the better case against Sarah Palin

First- US News, you must redo this blogsite so readers can go to & see the most recent comments instantly and don't have to scroll through all messages posted from the beginning. You lose many readers over this design flaw.

The case against Palin can be argued far more effectively as a case against mediocrity (or worse)rather than her inexperience (though this too is alarming!)The current debate is scarily reminiscent of Richard Nixon's Vice President Spiro Agnew who righteously and confidently defended his own nomination and election to the scond highest office in the world by proclaiming as a self-evident truth that "Mediocrity needs representation in America, too!" The implied reasoning here is that not only well-educated, intelligent accomplished, honest, strong & visionary leaders have a legitimate claim on to the Oval Office & West Wing, but poorly or uneducated, ignorant, bigoted, dishonest, incompetent, narrow-minded extremist mediocre people should also have a role in the leadership of America.

Sarah Palin scarily fits this mediocre model: she is an incompetent/ignorant/dishonest/corrupt/narrow-minded role model perfectly in my mind, and it is terrifying to think that these are the very vile & depraved qualities with which too many Americans identify with her as "just like one of us" and for which they will vote for her.
