It's the Economy, Stupid!

This election is about the economy and the devastating years of Bush and Republicans in the White House. Let's have the Republicans spend this third term in prison, why don't we??

It's the Economy, Stupid! It's not about lipstick, or Tina Fey look-alikes. Do not be drawn to the man behind the curtain. Keep your eye on ONE thing...the economic state of this nation. Our national debt is twice as big as the amount China now has in assets. We should all be frightened of that. And the Republicans have done that for us. Spending money we don't have on a war that was brought about by lies and deception. Not another term unless it's in prison.

McBush / Palin....will be disasterous for this country! Please open your eyes America, look beyond ideology, color and what feels comfortable, seek out the truth. McBush / Palin are all about LIES, DISTORTION and FEAR! McBush / Palin have no plan for America and are running against their own party's failures. Obama will lower taxes for 95% of us. McBush said the economy is "fundamentally sound" If you really believe that than you deserve what you will get with a McCain/Bush/Pailin Whitehouse. Give Obama a chance to fix this economy, restore our standing in the world, transition us to true energy independence and create good paying jobs.....

This election is about the ECONOMY

This election is NOT about being a prisoner of war which isn't the answer to who can lead the country the best necessarily

It is NOT about race which isn't the answer to who can lead the country the best necessarily.

It is NOT about being a woman which isn't the answer to who can lead the country the best necessarily.

Why argue about things which don't matter? These are smoke screens.

IT IS ABOUT THE ECONOMY which is historically horrible, and how to get out of this mess. Perhaps looking at WHO got us into this would be historically helpful.

Gramm who was McCain’s economic advisor until fairly recently, lead the charge to pass banking reform laws over many years, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, which served to reduce government regulation on financial institution. It took away the regulations put in place in 1933 by the Glass-Steagall Act put in place to keep the bank actions which lead to the Great Depression from happening again. It KICKED the door wide open for companies to acquire holdings and lending practices which were formerly forbidden.

McCain voted YES on the bill and Biden voted NO. Rumor is hardly anyone read it BECAUSE it was buried in the last minute budget bill submitted by Clinton. Always read the fine print is the rule here. It passed as a last minute compromise. There have been 8 years to fix the short comings of the bill which are starkly apparent now and have been apparent for quite some time.

This law led to a SERIES of deregulation acts and rulings which is DIRECTLY responsible for the financial mess TODAY.

The secondary factor is the HUGE national debt we have incurred from the Iraq war. It would have been much CHEAPER just to give every man, woman and child in Iraq a $100,000 each and buy the country (check the statistics). Perhaps we could have tried some less obvious method of diplomacy to achieve a better result and NOT lost American lives on foreign soil. They did NOT attack us. There have never been any links found connecting them to 9/11 (despite Palin stating so recently..where does she get her facts) and we have created additional terrorist cells since our actions. We aren't fighting the intensive war in the country that DID attack us. Doesn't that seem strange? But in any event that money has been spent and there really isn't room for tax benefits or tax cuts for any segment of the society but doubt if people will vote for that platform! So TAX CUTS shouldn't even be on the agenda...there's NO MONEY FOR THEM.

You can vote for the man who has been voting for the regulations and laws that got us into this mess. OR we can try something new. Obama voting history has been excellent. Check it out.

How can Obama be trusted?

We already know the person "Biden", the person "McCain", and even Sarah Palin has put her whole life out there. Why don't we know Barack Obama? Why do his supporters keep ignoring the fact that we really don't know much about the "person" Obama. I would just like the truth about his Chicago days, his associates, his political ties & rise. Everything may be innocent, but there are just too many secrets and too much poo-pooing about those issues. If there are unsavory influences, activities, associations, beliefs - then America is getting duped and won't find out until it is too late. Why won't the media vet this man like they have Sarah Palin? I just want truth for a change.

Republican Cronyism and Obstructionism

Amazing how badly the cons want to make this election about anything _other_ than a referendum on the job they've done for the last eight years. The more we learn about Palin, the more we see that she is just another crooked Republican crony opportunist.

The simple facts are this: Republicans have screwed over the middle and working class with policies that are skewed to the wealthy and the corporations. They do this every time they seize power, and then try distract the public with non-issues. To the Republicans, government is just another mechanism which they abuse to achieve their goal: keep the power in the hands of the wealthy.

Republicans are playing the obstructionism role of in congress with one goal: keep the Democrats from doing the will of the people, and then propagate a lie about a do-nothing congress.

Palin scares me

As a non-Christian, the fact that palin believes in Creationism, and beleieves dinosaurs were on earth 4000 years ago, scares the hell out of me. She is nothing but a gun-toting, 16th century wench pretending to be a modern day crusader of ethics. It is clear she has no ethics, going by Trooper-Gate and Bridge to Nowhere.
