Sarah Palin and the Presidential Succession Issue

It's something worth considering since there have been nine "accidental presidents" in American history

go obama 2008

those who voted for bush in 00 and 04 will surely vote for mccain and palin who will continue bush like policies. as a young person who is being screwed by many of you ignorant and sometimes downright racist conservatives, I am appalled by some of your comments. woul you like us young people to rise up and get rid of social security and medicare to salvage our own futures. would this wake some of you buffoons up to how angry we are with you living beyond your means?!!

What kind of "math" is that..

Wow..what an idiot! I guess it's the same old fraudulent untruthful democrat way. The correct way to calculate the percentage of "accidental" presidents would be to take the total terms and then divide by how many times the V.P. stepped in. Especially since McCain is only serving one term. You would never use this calculation if you were defending a candidate. You have been totally discredited. Any way you try to "rational lies" this from here just further shows what a fraud you are.

Gov. Palin as " the Vice -President " and possible succession

It is really scary to know that if something bad happens to McCain

in the White House, Gov. Palin would succeed as " President " of

the USA ! Poor Hillary would swallow her pride to see if Gov. Palin

would become the FIRST Female President !

I shudder with great trepidation !

Frankly, I think Hillary would have been a better candidate

because she has MORE political clout and experience. She has

been a Senator of New York as well as a former First Lady.

Therefore if she was on the Barak Obama ticket, Obama would have

won the election EASILY with no problems !

Why are you afraid of Sarah Palin to be an extremist?

Dear Americans,

why are you afraid of Sarah Palin to be an extremist in decision making? Why are you questioning her credibility? Why dont you ask most of the alaskans who gave her 80% favorable rating. The problem with most of us the Americans, we prefer to listen and believe the words of those coming from elites. You prefer to believe on the ideas of our actors and actresses in Hollywood like Matt Damon who cannot do in real life his action film Bourne. Are you in favor of Obama's policy of total reconciliation with lefties like Iran and North Korea? Have you experienced living in a sharia law country? Iran islamic regime does not favor diplomacy.Their ultimate objective is the total destruction of USA and Israel. If you favor Islam conquest, then vote a leader with soft balls between his legs.

free thinkers

I have been greatly disappointed in the MSM. It only took me 20 minutes and my lap top to figure out they been in the tank for Obama since before the primaries even. PLEASE skip all the nonsense go directly to the actual statae and federal gov. sites and check McCain and Obama voting records. This is public information It's all right there. How many times they voted against thier own parties. How many times Obama voted present and on what types of things he voted present. How many time they abstained from voting and on what issues. Just be sure to make an informed decision. Our country is counting on us.

As for Gov. Palin. Not only was I lucky enough to have once lived in the Wasila/Palmer area I saw first hand her love for her state and it's people. I found her to be very commited to her comunity and state.I was always impressed by the way she did her homework. She never shied away from asking the tough questions because she too likes to make informed decisions.

So whomever you vote for do your own research using unbiased information and vote based on those facts

Palin Scares Me

Palin strikes me as impulsive, unethical and self-serving. I do not want her to get anywhere near the White House! And when you add Palin's temperment to McCain's, I'm afraid that they will reinforce each other's narrow-minded views of foreign policy that are increasingly militaristic. The clock will tick ever closer to world war at a time when our country is financially weak. And now I learn from your article that she has a 20% chance that she could become an accidental president! That is indeed sobering but your message gets lost amidst the proliferation of American media tends to reward sound bites that speak to the lowest common denominator of voter intelligence. Thank you for an excellent article; keep it up!

Insane

If you elect McCain/Palin you deserve what you get

John McCain is not putting "country first."

It's clear that when John McCain says he is putting "country first," he is not telling the truth. Had he put "country first," he would not have picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. In his lifelong desire to be president, he has lost his honor, in my opinion, by knowingly selecting someone who is unqualified to succeed him.

All we've heard from Ms. Palin are untruths and platitudes, and I hope those who are currently impressed by her will begin investigating enough to realize what a mistake has been made. I'm all for a woman some day in the White House, but what a travesty it would be if that first woman were someone like Sarah Palin!

What we need is a president like Obama, someone who deliberates and looks at all sides of an issue, seeks the counsel of others, and then makes careful and sound decisions. And Joe Biden will be a great partner and resource in foreign affairs. I believe together they can make considerable inroads into getting us back on track and regaining our respect within the global environment.

A Heart Beat Away!

We must also consider not only his melanoma returning but also his age. He is showing signs of not remembering, not thinking things through and over reacting. His judgement seems to be off when responding to crisis. I saw how he responded to Russia regarding Georgia, his response to the Economic crisis, his response to the interview regarding Spain. I'm worried. President of the United States is the biggest job in this Country and John MCcain is slowly proving that he may not be able to handle it.

Succession of President

Question? If McCain were to be removed or died after becoming President, then Palin would become President, would the Speaker of the House then become the Vice President? We would then have a women President and a women Vice President. Would this be correct?
