I admit, but....
I admit I voted for Hillary in the primary partly because she is a doer, not a talker. Mr. Obama had a chance to be more real than his Illinois shows, but his primary staff is made up of privledged phoney's.
Axelrod is as phoney as they come - his greatest credential is formulating the "astroturfing" method of running campaigns. This locks out real people from helping out in a campaign. There is no place for the common man in Mr. Obama's campaign other than giving money.
Talk about impulsive!
BO just became senator of IL and already he's running for president! Get real!
How quickly we forget...
Remember this NY Times article? (how quickly we forget...):
In 1999, Barack Obama was faced with a difficult vote in the Illinois legislature — to support a bill that would let some juveniles be tried as adults, a position that risked drawing fire from African-Americans, or to oppose it, possibly undermining his image as a tough-on-crime moderate.
In the end, Obama chose neither to vote for nor against the bill. He voted "present," effectively sidestepping the issue, an option he invoked nearly 130 times as a state senator.
Sometimes the "present' votes were in line with instructions from Democratic leaders or because he objected to provisions in bills that he might otherwise support. At other times, Obama voted present on questions that had overwhelming bipartisan support. In at least a few cases, the issue was politically sensitive.
The record has become an issue on the presidential campaign trail, as Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, his chief rival for the Democratic nomination, has seized on the present votes he cast on a series of anti-abortion bills to portray Obama as a "talker" rather than a "doer."
Be real
From everything I have read, McCain is the one who has the proven record of bipartisanship. Where is Obama's record on this exactly? Can any of you "nuanced" politicos, communicators and commentators above point to the exact web link for me?
As for Sarah Palin, she is refreshingly honest, bold in her convictions, and has a proven record of fighting corruption in government.
Obama fanatics, be real. Find me a record, and convince to vote otherwise. Until then, my vote goes to McCain/Palin.
Dear cult members
I giggle watching you all continue to drink his koolaid, believing as he does in his magical powers, and buying into his snotty, vacuous, pious, grand illusion. Mark my words, his DNC acceptance speech was "the moment when the rise of the nausea began to grow
and our country began to get a clue."
VOTE! VOTE!! VOTE!!!
The only way the republicans can beat us is if we don't vote. Please vote! Obama has the repubs beat- hands down-- all we have to do to get the change we need is vote. The republicans are counting on us to not do our job.
vote!
I know that this may seem irrelevant, but those who support and believe in Obama and his methods (described in article)must go out and vote. It is more important than ever that no matter how the election may seem to be going that you (especially you-the first time voter) must not lose you enthusiasm and revert back to your pessimistic outlook on politics (do not ever think that the election is lost and that your vote wont matter). Hopefully this fact that I have gathered will help: Even though the polls currently show a tie or a slight lead to mccain, most pollsters say that the polls do not reflect reality solely because of the huge increase in first time voters- the huge majority of whom are registered under the democratic party. The reason this is unmeasurable is because pollster dont know how reliable these voters are; it is hard to know how many will actually turn up and vote. I can guarantee you that the more people who go and vote the more likely it will be that obama will win the election. However, it is also true that these newly invigorized voters are easily dissuaded....so GO AND VOTE!!!
obama's appeal.......
It was my opinion from the beginning that the rest of the world would approve highly of Obama for all of the important reasons you can think of both for us & our relationship with the worlds leaders.Him not looking like everybody else does have its value. Signed, caucasian female....
Cograts Obama Team!
It was really inspiring to read about Obama's inner circle. With such people around we are very confident that Obama will win this race.I was a small child when JFK was assassinated .When Robert Kennedy was also killed during campaign, I was shattered. In Barrack Obama we see the Kennedy era coming back.We want America as the world leader with human touch, cares for democracy and freedom around the world. With Goeorge Bush America lost its values and is like an unscrupulous MNC trying to loot the world.
We are sure Obama can give a great insiring leadership to the whole world. We need a true leader to cool tempers as people are angry with the failed policies of Bush -McCain .We need a
visionary who can persuade the world to go for green technologies and save the plannet from melting. The last seven years have created nightmare to ordinary people who lost the feeling of security and have been living under terrorist threat .Come on America ,this is a historical opportunity to regain America's glory. It is time to show the world that America is a true mature democracy and it can lead an economic recovery.Iam an Indian and we have a true leadership problem in our country. So we are in a fact jealous of the Americans who got a wonderful leader with charisma, intelligence and a matured world view. The whole world loves him. With a Republican win in this November, the world will continue to live in fear of terror. We look forward to the American people to make an intelligent great choice by electing Obama to live the Kennedy dream!
B. Obama
I am actually a supporter of the Ron Paul movement. However, I am most impressed with the planning, motivation, attitude, and intellect that this article represents. Give credit where credit is due.
