Activist: Conservatives Will Rally Around Palin Despite Her Daughter's Pregnancy

Conservatives are for choices: a mother decides to keep an unexpected child; a mother decides that her abilities and resources allow her to be active in her community and family; a family decides that being in business and being part of the community is important to their well-being; a mayor works to make sure the city responds to the needs of the community but does not become the provider of first support for personal obligations; a woman choses to work for a state that has given her and her family a living; a family chooses to support her and encourage her; a mother chooses to love a child that has gone astray; a family supports their mother in her opportunity to grow and become involved in something larger;

Sarah Palin and her family are not perfect. They have sought to live the ideals they stand for, accept the limitations of human nature and work, work for themselves, work for others. One child slipped, another child soon leaves to fight for us. I do not expect perfection in our civil servants, just a recognition they ARE our civil servants. I think McCain's choice recognizes conservative values and so far, I have not seen or heard of Sarah Palin or anyone else in her family not trying to live up to those values.

That's just it...Republicans and Evangelicals are holier than thou...now listen if Obama had a teenage daughter who was with child and unmarried...the right wingers would surely have started with the bashing, putting the poor girl through the ringer..that shows you how biased they are...I'm all for family values..but they're treating Sarah Palin's daughter like she's the second coming...when it really is an issue that the child herself will be having a shotgun wedding...and who's to say how long she and her baby daddy will even be married??? or was it so hard for them to find a condom to prevent this??? and you know JOHN MCSAME knew about the pregnancy...oops my bad he probably didn't since he only spoke to her 2 hours before putting her on the ticket...lmao...

Look, I'm aware that politics is about choosing sides, k? But, if all Republicans have to tout about Sarah Palin is that she's not a baby-killer, then 1.) the packaging provided by the Repulican Party doesn't speak well for her abilities, or that there's nothing more compelling that they COULD have said about her, which is even more mystifying, and 2.) I think the Republican party has made a HUGE misstep in doing what appears to be choosing a woman for women's sake...I can't help but think THAT political machine thinks women are so easily swayed to vote Republican..."just add woman", regardless of her qualifications. Perhaps she'll be a fine candidate for VP, but she's got nothing but a pair of breasts on Joe Biden.

Also, I read on another message board that she's got the MILF factor going for her-maybe that will win votes? Are MEN that easily swayed?

I am encouraged to know that Gov Palin and her husband Todd support their daughter and her pregnancy unconditionally. That caring love and dedication will transmit even further to the politics that make her the maverick choice of Sen McCain. Her accomplishments are significant and impressive to that she is a mother of five, one of which is a specially challenged child.

Gov Palin has my support for her management of her state's natural resources and her interest to make all that available to those of us in the lower 48 states. Her conservative views with her personal perseverance in achieving successful outcomes politically and socially will enrich the fabric of our country.

Lets hear her debate the issues in the days ahead and look forward to having this down to earth candidate present herself to the deligates of the RNC and the American electorate.

Really and truly why is it the Evangelicals and so called conservatives won't stand and condemn this pregnancy. This is setting a horrible example for our youth. Stand and say this is not acceptable. We do not condone this type of behavior. Why is it that so called conservatives are so fake and biased. They think its ok for innocent children to die in Iraq, but say they are pro life. God is not pleased.

PALIN HOME IS ALWAYS MORE IMPORTANT

No we should not judge Palin on the choices of her daughter but we can judge her on her own choices. She has chosen country over family though she has 5 kids. It does not make me as a mom want to vote for her, I am not even inspired in any way, actually I am offended that McCain would think that because she does all this I would vote for her. Honey, if she is not there for her family, how in the world is she going to be there for me? A Day one President? I don't think so if she is not even a Day one Mom.

It seems that worked with for daughter Bristol, didn't it. And surely the McCain camp had to know that Palin's daughter had a child out of wedlock before they picked her.

Weren't they the ones for years that condemned Democrats over wanting better sex education in schools, availablity of birth control and the evils of liberals having sex out of wedlock?

You know it's amazing how much sensitivity we want others to give to Palin because she deals with 'what other families have goen through.' It is because she is female but did we do that for Hillary? No and would we do it? No, so Palin wants to run withthe big dogs then we need to treat her just like Hill. McCain camp keeps bringing up the woman issue and Obama - Palin is not running against Obama - she's facing off Biden - which she is WAY behind on everything. If McCain died today (highly possible) or got Alzheimers (possible) would she be fit not so sure but if Obama keeled over (unlikely), Biden could step in. Let's not lose perspective she is running for the VP position!
