Negative Campaigning

I believe it is not very wise for any of the candidates running to lower their ethics and get into character bashing and trying to expose each others' inadequacies. We all know, when that happens; when a person condemns others is how that person will be judged. By the issues at hand I can not believe either party would waste the people's time. I am very disappointed. To me that says the person is not sure of their own stance of the issues. Don't waste my time and energy I will not stand for it and I encourage others to do the same. This is not about acting and then reacting, don't evade the matters at hand, the real issues that face the majority of the nation.

We should push the candidates to state their positions and encourage them to tell the truth instead of not wanting to say what they really believe and maybe lose voters. I am not going to vote for anyone that can not do that. I do not see that any party out there is really listening to the people, they all have their own agendas and numbers, and polls to crunch.

I want the American public to demand that for example public eduction reform not get so complicated and wrap other interests into it . Keep it simple ! there are a lot of people in the private sector that are very talented and have good plans for solutions. Utilize them. duh... Or as we heard from the financial sector, there were many suggestions that no one listened to that had great alternatives not to mention ideas for enforcing the rules and regulations set by the financial community. Plain and simple without loading the bill up with other items.

This is one of the most important elections in history!

I hope everyone is doing their homework and studying all the voting records,etc...

before voting. Don't take my word or blogs look up their speeches and voting records and see what each one has changed their stance on, since the beginning of the race.

I don't know about the rest of you , but I want to know where each candidate stands and what they believe they can do for the nation as a whole: meaning from the bottom of the ranks all the way up.

After all it is the small business owners and the regular average worker that has kept this country going.

We all need to require accountability from those holding positions of power, be it political or otherwise. We can not dumb down or I call it numb down by being so tolerant of behaviors that we know are not right or healthy and now we are reaping the consequences.(Wall St.)

Get out there and exercise your right to vote!

Negative ads by McCain

These ads are only making me more resolute to support Senator Obama any way I can. I am a 60-year-old white woman with no particular party affiliation. I vote for who I feel will lead this country best - and I go on what they have done, or not done, in the past as well as what they feel they can do if elected. I know that all political rhetoric does not necessarily mean it will be done - as it takes more than one man to change everything. That is why we have a system of checks and balances (though I guess declaring war has now become the sole right of the President, or so it would seem.) That being said - I am sick to death of backstabbing and mud slinging. I pray that Senator Obama is able to ignore these character assassinations and move on with a positive and uplifting, reassuring campaign. And for those of you who forward negative e-mails with no personal knowledge of whether what they are saying is true or not - shame on you.

Negative Campaigning

Unfortunately, negative ads work on our emotions. There's no doubt McCain's negative ads are working on some folks out there who don't bother to think for themselves. Negative ads work on our emotions like fear and prejudice.

How many people check websites like factcheck.org which is a non-partisan Public Policy Group in the University of Pa. I am a 61 year old white woman with a Master's Degree.

There are people who have no problem telling reporters that they won't vote for a black man, no matter what his abilities are. All of the negative ads and false emails that are circulating appeal to people who can't think for themselves.

McCain 2008

Has he learned anything from when he lost the Republican nomination in 2000? It has to be a sign of desperation when you complain about your opponent getting more media attention. Now they are outhinking reverse psychology with the statements that Obama is "playing the race card." Memo to white people: Using this worn out cliche has become code for "Yes I am a racist and you have to like it." I want to hear more and more attacks against Obama from McCain and his supporters. I especially want to hear his wife attack people. The more she gets into the picture the better for Obama. How about some of the conservatives bashing McCain on leaving his first wife? There is some negative mudslinging for ya!
