The Religious Wrong
You know someone is not coming from God if they are trying to scare you about anything. The only one to fear is the Lord, and only then if you are doing wrong. Jonathen Swift wrote " Barak doesn't know the context of "The Sermon on the Mount". The context is clearly individual actions not governmental actions"
Well then, by what standard do you bring your morality to goverment with abortion or gays. I do lean Republican on the issue of abortion, but Democrat on everthing else. The world loses almost twenty times the innocent children to poverty than to abortion, yet the so called conservatives attack Barack when he wanted to increase aid for poverty. Rank hypocrisy, especially since George Bush increased aid to Africa four fold( I beleive), but no out cries there about tax dollars. There is no consistency from the so called right, they just divide(atheists/believers),(straight/gays),(Muslims/Christians), demonize(illegal Christians/aliens), distort and distract(flag pins/pantsuits).
McCain needs Huckabee to sweeten our ticket
Huckabee appeals to evangelicals and others, even those who may not agree with him BECAUSE he is a man who knows himself better than almost anyone I have seen and he is not afraid to tell others who he is. Do we REALLY know WHO Barack Obama is? I don't think so. DO we REALLY know who McCain is? My answer is yes! McCain/Huckabee two solid conservatives, each bringing their own stregths to the ticket. Each man with the integrity to tell folks what they are about, not just floundering around like Obama doing and saying anything for a vote. What will he do, heaven forbid, he gets elected??? No one knows!
Regarding the Sermon on the Mount
"Blessed are the warmongers for they shall be called the children of God."
Barak couldn't pass New Testament 101
From his speeches it is obvious that Barak doesn't know the context of "The Sermon on the Mount". The context is clearly individual actions not governmental actions. His interpretations clearly conflict with other Scriptures.
Evangelicals know that if someone's interpretation of Scripture conflicts with other Scripture, the problem is not with the Scripture.
"Is he willing to risk offending Planned Parenthood, for example, if he proposes a legislative initiative to reduce abortions?"
Heck yes! Planned Parenthood doesn't care about abortions they only care that women have that choice. All Liberals that I know want to see abortion ended but not by force but by practical common sense approaches like contraceptives and education. This is why Obama can make this argument without hurting his standing with the left.
Re: 10-40 window
"Reach the 10-40 window with Obama" with what? Marxism? Black Liberation Theology? Certainly not the Gospel. No, the best way to reach that region is by establishing Democracy there, and that's exactly what President Bush and John McCain are trying to do. To pull out now and let radical Islam take over would close the door to the Gospel indefinitely. Sometimes guns and missiles - not speeches with empty promises - are necessary to bring about REAL hope and change. I'm confident that most Christians will see it this way and vote for John McCain.
Right To Life
One of the more encouraging developments I've seen is the refocusing of the concept of "right to life" to include those already born! Finally, finally, some evangelicals are considering the right to life of young men sent to fight in an unjust war; and the right to life of victims of war and genocide across the world; and the right to life of women who are killed in "honor crimes;" and the right to life for prisoners facing execution.
AT LAST it's not just about forbidding women the right to choose when confronted with a life-threatening pregnancy -- or about voting automatically for the candidate who *claims* to be the MOST anti-abortion candidate. That sort of thinking got us two terms of George W. Bush, and sent our country into a downward spiral from which it may never recover.
Will evangelicals vote for Obama? God willing!!!
Progress with evangelical voters
Obama Campaign Is Making Progress With Evangelical Voters --
Not where I come from...true evangelicals won't support anyone who has the position Obama has on abortion.
the 10-40 window
perhaps an opportunity to reach the 10-40 window with Obama instead of with guns and missiles!!!
Pharisees
Radical lefitst, bad associates, support for unpopular positions, Oh & a life of service.
The anti-Christ?
