I'm a Liberal, and my bf is a Republican and we both are Obama supporters. The turnout on the Democratic side has been amazing! We def. are going to beat John McCain, and it's been said it's about the Economy stupid! The Republicans theorize if there is another terrorist attack that it would benefit them, but I disagree if it happens it will show Americans that the Republicans can't protect you. Even if an attack doesn't happen it will still be on the Democrats side because people are worrying about gas prices, their houses, healthcare... all issues where people side with the Democats.
I want to applaud my Governer for not siding with John McCain on offshore drilling even though he endorsed McCain. Californians and Floridians are against it... and if John McCain keeps pushing it he will lose Florida!
I have a lot of European friends who love Obama. They can't even fathom why not all Americans aren't supporting him.

Not an Obama fanboy, but...
... the support for Obama out in the world is ENORMOUS. I have not met a single McCain supporter anywhere in the world, but lots of people are excited about Obama. The first question many people ask me when they find out that I am an American is "Are you voting for Obama?" I've never seen people out here so interested in America's internal politics before.
Lots of people seem to desperately want the old America back; the proud, noble and honorable America that everyone used to admire. America was the subject of hero worship for many people in the world and it is difficult for them to watch their hero debase themselves in public like America has over the last several years. So many people in the world want America to climb up out of the gutter, shake the mud off and be the principled example that everyone wants to follow again. Many of these people are hanging their hopes on Obama.
Obama WILL be greeted by wildly enthusiastic crowds. If he comes to Japan, there will be throngs of schoolgirls (as well as middle-aged men and women) trying to snap his picture with their cell phones and trying to get his attention for an autograph. It'd be like the Beatles landing again.
As for me, I look forward to not being ashamed to show my passport when going through immigrations everywhere I travel. I will either get a clear passport cover or one with America's seal embossed on the outside. It will really be nice for my country of origin to be a point in my favor again rather than a black mark against me.

Also, wonder what he has promised Colombia's President regarding NAFTA??? I simply do not trust McCain. I see him as sneaky and untrustworthy. I also believe more and more people are seeing him as such. TOO much flipflopping. Everything he stood for in 2000 he is now against; everything he was against, he now stands for. Then he keeps changing his stance, I sure as heck I don't know where he stands on any issue on any given day.....I think is trying to please ALL people ALL of the time and doesn't realize this this just does not happen. I also think he is in the first stages of dementia/Altzheimers as he appears to be confused and gives answers to questions that do not corrolate with the question. When he thinks he has said something clever he gives that sickening fake smile, pauses, and waits to be applauded. No kidding, watch him next time he comes on TV. At the meeting with Hispanic leaders he was booed and interrupted FOUR times. It's sad and at times I feel sorry for him. The rich old guy is out of his league on this race. His Admiral grandpa and Admiral papa cannot pull strings this time.

"he finished on top of his class at Harvard"...wrong! he actually was a B student and did not do well on his grades. I guess HARVARD did not allow him to cheat like every thing else in his life.

Nancy, he was the President of the Harvard Law Review for two years. You do not get to this position with "B" grades. You must be a top student to be selected/elected for this post. John McCain was 5th from the bottom of his class of over 350 graduates. That means his grades were in the D and D-minus range. He barely squeeked by!! And of course, grandpa McCain and Papa McCain (both admirals) helped him get into the Navy where he crashed FIVE fighter planes, killed 137 comrades because he decided to make a wet run from the aircraft carrier. He caused great damage to the carrier, almost destroying it! But of course, we do not hear McCain telling us any of this or anything else about his tour in Viet Nam other than he got shot down and was a POW and somehow that is supposed to give him foriegn policy experience and qualify him for President! Those experiences were 35-40 years ago! What McCain does not seem to know is that the world has changed drastically since the 1960s. I'd say he is out of touch, not only with the USA and its people and issues, but with the world as a whole.
Senator Obama's overseas trip will be great for him and the people there as well. Most countries favor Obama for President. They will be delighted to see him in person and I'd love to see the people greeting him! I believe we are going to see a lot of cheering and enthusiasm from the crowds!

Senator Obama has already made a great impact around the world. Every country is highly interested in our 2008 election; they are watching and waiting. Senator Obama cuts a very fine Presidential figure and is highly intelligent, knowledgeable of the issues facing us and the solutions to bring us out of the dullldrums in which the last seven and a half years have thrown us into. He has already proven he is a great leader (best campaign in U.S. history) and is keen on financial issues (best fundraising techniqued in U.S. history and raised more campaign funds than anyone in history)!! He is a man of integrity, wisdom, vision, and has the unique ability to step out of the proverbial "BOX" and look at it from all sides and beyond. ONLY TWO PERCENT OF OUR POPULATION HAS THIS UNIQUE GIFT! The speech he gave in 2002 on why we should not go to war with Iraq, and the consequences if we did go to war with Iraq, is a good example of this gift. Everything he said would happen if we went to war has happened. It's uncanny! Senator Obama is a deep thinker who makes the right decisions. It is time to bring new ideas and ideals and to lift ourselves and our country up and move forward toward new horizons where each of us can participate in our government and make our country one of humanity instead of one of wars.. Let's make it happen by electing Senator Obama as our President and Commander-in-Chief!!

In an IPSOS poll of nearly 30,000 people in 22 countries, Obama was the overwhelming leader compared to John McCain. Overall, Obama got 55% to McCain's 14%. Mrs. Clinton was still running and she got 31%. Obama was also the leader in each individual country. There is a world wide group of people who are doing bridges of the world photos with Obama supporters holding hands across the bridges. 85% of the people in Germany and Spain are hoping for Obama for example. People all over the world believe that their lives will be better if Obama is the U.S. President. Wouldn't it be nice if our allies liked us again???
