RE: Paul's "It should be Hill and Bill's apologies"

Paul, you need to wake up and smell the Kool-Aid. Hillary apologized over and over again to Obama, for the most bizarre nonsense, a strategy she should have known wouldn't work. Shame on her for that, because once she started it, she LOST her image as a tough cookie who doesn't back down. I worked actively on her campaign, and that is the ONLY thing that disappointed me. I believe that she should have stuck to her instincts, and not let her divisive campaign staff control her. Racism? Get real. Remember: Bill Clinton was named by African-Americans as "America's First Black President." Personal friends of mine who are black told me during that ridiculous impeachment trial that "people didn't like Bill Clinton because he has too many black friends." Bill has every right to be mad. No matter what you think about the Clinton marriage, one thing is, was, and will obviously always be true: When the chips were down, Hillary stood by her man, and now he's standing by her. The only demographic group it is still okay to openly insult is White Women. This Democratic Primary race should have proved that to EVERYBODY. I'm a proud "Nobama Mama" and I will NEVER vote for Obama. I'm not being tricked into switching over to McCain, either. I intend to write in Hillary's name. And don't EVER count the Clintons out. Remember that old song, "Don't Mess With Bill."

To Real Dem of TN

I haven't said that BO has cried racism yet. He hasn't needed to. He won the nomination fair and square.

If he loses the election in November, white racism will be blamed.

As for the similarity between Hillary and McCain. For me it comes down to 2 words: deficit reduction. I always respected Bill because he brought down the deficit. I thought that Hillary would do the same. Obama has said that deficiit reduction is not a priority to him.

I will grant you the point that Obama is more sympathetic to women's issues than McCain. I don't vote on social issues. I never have. That's why I have voted for candiadates as different as Reagan, Clinton, Gore and GWB.

To me the biggest disappointment of Bush was his free spending ways. I don't see that stopping with Obama. I do see it happening with McCain.

Who cares abut trivialities?

Paul, I do not understand your long expose on trivialities. It is important to see things from USA's perspecive. What is Obama going to do to bring this country back to Glory Days? Bill, Hillary, Barrack, Michelle do not matter. McCain does not matter. What matters is USA who is fast losing its Shine. Let's work to restore that Shine. Leave all grudges, trivialities behind. Only trivial people waste their time and energy on trivial things. Look at Larger Things.

It should be Bill and Hill's apology!

It was Bill and Hill who tried to paint Barack as a drug dealer, a liar about his Iraq record, and the next Jesse Jackson in an attempt to smear and defeat him.

Bill and Hillary tried to destroy Barack because they couldn't find a way to make Hillary more appealing.

As a last resort, when she had all but lost, Hillary started complimenting John McCain on his being ready to be Commander-in-Chief while questioning Barack's readiness.

Bill and Hill used to be icons for Democrats but what they did was a disgrace. They should be apologizing to Barack and I can only hope that Barack demanded that of them before agreeing to help reduce their debt and rehabilitate their images with Barack's supporters, particularly African Americans.

As regards racism, we all know it exists and is a far stronger force than sexism or we would have as many statewide African Americans in power in this nation as women. Instead, Barack is the lone African American U.S. Senator and Devon Patrick of Massachusetts is the lone African American governor.

As regards sexism, while it is true that some sexism was apparent in the media and is tolerated by the nation in a way that blunt racism is not, that was not why Hillary lost. In fact, early on, when Hill was riding high, her critical mistake was to attack her fellow candidates for ganging up on her when she stepped in it by first saying she was for drivers' licences for undocumented aliens and then changing her mind. She should have taken responsibility. Blaming her obvious mistake on "the guys" made her appear weak.

Later, her crazy story about sniper fire in Bosnia put the stake in her campaign. Just when people were wondering if Barack could survive his minister, Hillary was caught making up the sniper fire story. Had it not been for that, she might well have come back.

Now, we all know that Hillary still wants to be President and would be thrilled if old man McCain won the Presidency. He would have to bring our troops out of Iraq and he would have to bomb or negotiate with Iran. She could carp at whatever he does and, presumably, be first in line in 2012 to get the Democratic nomination.

Yet, because we all know that, Bill and Hill MUST do everything they can to try to helk Barack win now. Anything less will put his loss partly on their shoulders and make her far less appealing in 2012.

Of course, the one thing that shouldn't include is putting Hillary on the ticket. The Dems need a fresh face in the VP slot and not someone who obviously has too big a spotlight on them to be an appropriate number 2. Moreover, even if Barack wants a different woman to fill that slot, Hillary should embrace that as a victory for the women's movement and not oppose it out of spite or concern for the creation of another future competitor for the Presidency. Party unity and her future require her to back whomever he chooses and to the hilt!

Bottom line - Barack won and all Dems should get behind him!
