same sex marriage
Marriage is a Holy and Sacred Union between a man and a woman. Our bodies were designed perfectly for each other as man and woman. We were created because we are both needed to balance marriage, family and children. I don't believe that any man has the right to change that. That is up to The GOOD LORD. We don't hate gay people, we just don't agree that they should be able to marry. I don't consider that as discrimination. I mean after all, no one is born gay, right? It is a psychological disorder and it would be best to seek help to see where these feelings of attraction to the opposite sex are coming from. Most people who I know that are gay have experienced some type of trauma, neglect or abuse in their life.I love you and GOD loves you and he wants what is best for you and that is to lead a normal and holy life. A lot of other things can happen physically to you by being gay. I know people who have rectal and intestinal issues. Not to mention other diseases. It just isn't healthy. Children need a mother and a father. It is the natural design of our human race. I will pray for us all.
Oh well
oh well. i guess all us gay people will have to move do to redneck leaders... no. if you have a problem with homosexuality you probably have a problem with yourown sexuality. get the hell overit and grow up.
Your first arguement is wrong Gaby O
What page in the bible does it say homosexuals will go to hell?
And where does the bible say they have sex like rabits?
What bible are you reading?
same sex marriage
Personally I think that same sex marriage is o.k. in some ways its up to the people in a relationship should decide if they wanna marry that person. If they want to be gay let them its not your choice in there life sure they may get made fun of but if they love each other it shouldn't bother them. But in some ways I think it's wrong that men should marry men or women should marry women. I go to church so I believe that it should be one man one woman nothing else.
The Truth Of The Matter.
Ok for being thirteen good job on looking up what you're talking about.
The bible does state man shall not lay with man. But if you take the sex out of homosexuality what do you have? A relationship, a friendship per say. I'm a female who has had a friendship for six years with another female, if we had sex it would be a gay relationship. But we don't. So just because homosexuals have a weird sexual fetish doesn't mean they should be granted same rights as man and woman.
Honestly I don't understand your second argument. But marriage was created for one purpose-- procreation.
AS IN the ability to have children is necessary to build a family.
I agree that legalizing gay marriage does not mean people will wake up and decide to be gay. However this is not a factor focused on in this proposition. If you choose to be gay, be gay. It doesn't affect me.
But this is a big deal. To define marriage will help institute a foundation in our state. If we allow gay marriage we would surely see its effects.
Finally, the constitution is written "under God". God's doctrine states marriage is only valid between man and woman.
We as a people have a right to vote on the issues. To take this to court is undermining the people's power of vote. The people spoke.
Leave the decision to the people.
The Truth Of The Matter.
I am an asexual/bi-romantic/nonreligious 13 year old female who fully believes in gay rights. The below reasons are why I think so. If you can contradict me on anything I say, I'll be damned.
The first argument that people who hate homosexual people on principle is that the Christian Bible says, to paraphrase-- that all homosexual people will go to hell.
The Bible actually states that 'man will not sleep with another man'. That, as everyone in this time period knows-- refers to sex. God does not frown upon homosexuality, but the way homosexuals have sex.
For all you know, two people involved in a homosexual relationship do not have to be having sex everywhere. They could be saving themselves until they get married--oh, pardon *me*, until they get 'civil unionized'. Just because a couple is homosexual does NOT mean they necessarily go screw like rabbits because they can. Homosexuals have the same ideas of saving themselves as heterosexuals do.
A second argument is that they have the inability to bear children.
This one, I think, came from people who were trying to find excuses for their hatred or severe dislike of homosexuals. It makes absolutely no sense. Heterosexual couples can have the inability to bear children as well. Does this mean *they* are unnatural?
Another argument: If homosexual marriages become legalized, it will encourage people to be gay.
That is not true! This one makes me very indignant. It may encourage people who were closeted homosexuals to come out, but people will not decide to wake up and be gay. I will not wake up and decide to be straight. Gay people will not wake up and decide to be straight. It's the same thing!
*~*
Something I, frankly, do NOT understand is why this is such a big issue. If you let homosexuals get married, and you're a heterosexual male or female, what is it to you? Will it decrease your pride as an American if people from countries where being homosexual can get you death penalty even if you are a valued citizen immigrate here to try to not get frowned upon?
It won't! If you think it does-- look again at America's past and all, that we as a country, have pulled through! We got through World War One and Two. We got through the Great Depression. We fixed ourselves up after the Civil War. We have done a lot as a country.
So why does one tiny matter that doesn't even affect you personally make you lose faith in a country that has done so much?!
If America truly were a free country-- shouldn't freedom of marriage be in the Constitution? Seriously, I do not think that having a freedom of marriage amendment will make people want to marry their fathers, their mothers, their siblings, their pets-- because even if you *can*, would you? The people you love as family are different (more than usually) from your romantic interests.
If I go to hell for falling in love with a woman when I am older, or if I do not go to hell because I fall in love with a man... who am I to you? Just one person. Big deal.
More important things...
Funny how many "more important things" there are to pay attention to, yet, here we are.
Some people have stated that marriage between 3 or 4 or more people won't happen? What are you, a polygamist bigot? The nerve! People trying to live in bliss with the persons they love, and you wish to deny their RIGHT to happiness? How dare you? How dare any of us? And what better parenting than to have a whole load of parents?
And what if a brother and sister want to marry? Maybe they don't want, or can't, get pregnant. Maybe they are just going to adopt. Maybe they don't want children. Maybe they're just hot for each other. Should their right to happiness be denied?
Or 2 gay brothers or 2 gay sisters for that matter. It's not like they could get pregnant, right?
What if Dad wants to marry his daughter, of legal consenting age of course. Why not? Should they be denied the rights and privileges afford to us bigoted non-directly-related "dad_and_daughter-aphobes"?
Or the guy that wants to be a girl and the other person who may or may not be a guy or girl, but is gender confused in either case, and they want to get married? Who the heck is going to sort those situations out? It's like so intolerant to enforce any narrow restrictions on people who just want the right to marry. They just want to be happy. They are just trying to figure it all out and just live their lives, but you sit there in judgement, you, you, judger!
=============================================
Marriage is between a man and a woman (not too closely blood related). Anything else, is something else. Something else like incest, or a gay relationship, or polygamy, or whatever. But it isn't "marriage".

Ok, and now for the even more ridiculous...
What about people born with an inclination towards theft? Isn't that "just the way they are"? Yet we say they shouldn't be that way. We lock them up (we put restrictions on them) and deny them life liberty and the pursuit of hapiness. Let them just steal stuff (as long as it's your stuff). You probably won't even miss the stuff they steal anyways. It makes them happy. And, they get the stuff that you are able to buy, but they can't afford. Almost like they are being denied the right to own stuff. It's not like it will turn your kids into thieves.
And what about those stupid laws against drunk and disorderly conduct? I suppose that our bigoted, anti-alcoholic prejudices just won't leave well enough alone. They just happen to love alcohol. Although I don't think they want to marry alcohol. What? Like your kids will start acting all disorderly? I mean, like more than usual?
Or people who don't feel strongly, one way or the other, about peeing in public? Let the river of happiness flow unim-pee-ded, I say. Don't let me stand in the way, or downstream. It's just the way they are. It makes them happy.
Hmmm...
Why is it such a problem for people to allow others to do whatever they wish with their personal lives? I thought that thousands of people have died to grant this nation what we call Civil Liberties, and personally, I could care less if Joe loves Billy. If they want to get married and be miserable like the rest of us, why not. Maybe it's not naturally right, but we all have basic needs, and sometimes those basic needs must be fulfilled, no matter the situation. It's unfortunate that we still live in a time where people are continuously oppressed for what makes them happy. It's like criticizing me for the enjoyment I get out of watching a football game. Come on, there are much more important issues on which we as a nation need to be focusing on, and curently that would be the economy, the ongoing needless war in Iraq, any of these ringing a bell for you of the homophobic population?
Earth to stupid:
Homosexuality occurs naturally in animals.
