Hillary Clinton to Ask Fat Cats to Support Barack Obama

Hillary Clinton will appear with Barack Obama in Washington next week to persuade her top donors to write big checks to the Democrats' nominee, the Daily News has learned.
The June 26 event will be the first to bring together the victor and vanquished from the Democratic primary race and put their pledges of unity for the fall campaign into action, a source said. A joint public appearance also is in the works, insiders said.
Jonathan Mantz, Clinton's national finance director, sent top Clinton fund-raisers an e-mail Tuesday inviting them to the June 26 event, as The News first reported on its Web site Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting's purpose, Mantz wrote, was "to discuss how we can work together to support Barack Obama and the Democratic Party."
The Clinton campaign is encouraging its supporters to contribute $2,300 to Obama's campaign before the August party convention, Mantz wrote.
The fund-raising event, which will be held at the Mayflower Hotel, comes as the Obama campaign is working aggressively to the heal wounds left by the long, intense fight for the nomination.
In a clear sign of how fractured the party remains, Obama supporters at his rally in Detroit Monday night booed when Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, a former Clinton supporter, mentioned the former First Lady.
"Come on now," an irritated Granholm lectured the crowd. "She's a great American."
Since Clinton suspended her campaign and endorsed Obama June 7, the two camps have been talking about what role Clinton will play and how to unify the party. The event in Washington marks a major step forward.
Clinton also has set a conference call with donors Thursday.
"They're trying to do the right thing," one Clinton supporter said. "Whether they're ecstatic about it or not, I don't know."
Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki said he is "grateful for her support and looks forward to working together in the months to come, and in the White House."

NO OBAMA ...
The DNC, Pelosi, and the Obama's patronizing and phony
praise of Hillary Clinton are nothing more than insincere steps
to get some of Hillary's 18 million voters to vote for Barrack.
These people are so pitiful. maybe some of Hillary's supporters
will fall for it, but most of us see it as adding insult to injury,
and we are voting for Senator John McCain in November.
Hillary's Support
I literally makes me sick to my stomach to contemplate Hillary actually working to support Obama. The media and most of Obama's supporters still do not get it. The refusal to support Obama has nothing to do with racism: the people opposed to Obama have a basic belief in the core tenets of the major religions around the world - love for each and every individual, toleration of each other, honor and respect for the value and worth of each individual and respect or reverence for life and God's creations. The inpact of Reverend Wright, Father Pleger, NAFTA, Michelle Obama's thesis, remarks about the working people and Obama's associatons with terrorists orientated individuals ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR BELIEF THAT THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE PRESIDENT OF THE USA. Now view the disgust of watching a talented, experienced, creative and dynamic leader like Hillary grovel for Obama. The Democratic DNC and liberal "elite" leadership does not get it that they are changing the face of the Democratic Party forever! As people see what the Democratic Party has become, it will be abandoned by those who believe in the Presidency being filled by a person with integrity, ethics, honesty and true love for America. The sucking destruction of our party will be blamed on the DNC, the media for refusing to do its Constitutional job and the "pie in the sky" liberals. HILLARY DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE USED; Obama is not just a man who ran against you. He is not good for America! IT IS NOT RACISM BUT REAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT THIS MAN.

Election Coverage
The death of Meet the Press Moderator really hurts becase I thought he was fair and unbias in his delivery and questions for all the politicians he interviewed.
I pray that NBC has someone who can do their job as Tim Russert did. Truly, Tim will be missed on Sunday morning, the Lord's Day.
I look for forward to a change in the White House in January 2009 with B. Obama as President of the United States and M. Obama as the first lady.
I will make contribution within the next ninety days.
Yours truly,
