Despite the idea that the media fawned over Obama, coverage of him and Clinton was equally positive

Fair and Balanced

Perhaps this equality of coverage should not be left to chance. A commission could be appointed to assure that for each negative for one candidate, and certainly for each scandal, something negative or scandalous could be dug up and expanded for the alternative candidate. This would only be a continuation of the substitution of verbal tennis matches for researched and historically contextualized news. Any fact can be obfuscated by somebody with an economic interest in doing so, so there is no consensual reality to defend, just money and power. Evolution, for example, can simply be equalized with cloud pictures. "I didn't see a monkey; I saw God." And tobacco related illness and global warming can be interesting theories, but countered by alternative theories, easily bought and sold on the open market and given equal time and weight for fair and balanced coverage. After all, we have an alternative to reality now that we have had the great second millennium faith based enlightenment, courtesy of the Republican coalition. Evolutionary dead ends are not pretty, thus the proliferation of armageddon fantasies and elevation of those who promise control over what they don't even understand. But this is a democracy, so no matter how easily deluded the base to which the candidate must pander in order to win, it's not fair for reporters to have a visceral reaction against a candidate who supplies more delusion.

This would only be a continuation of the substitution of this equality of coverage. A commission could be appointed to assure that , which I will personally gladly pay for, in order to win. After all, I didn't see a monkey dug up against a candidate who supplies more delusion.

Michelle Obama's Thesis - get a load of this

According to Snopes.com, http://snopes.com/politics/obama/thesis.asp

Princeton was requested to put a 'restriction' on distribution of any copies of the thesis of Michelle Obama (a/k/a/ Michelle laVaughn Robinson) saying it could not be made available until November 5, 2008 but when it was published on a political website they decided they would lift the restriction.

Subj: Thesis - Michele Obama aka Michelle LaVaughn Robinson

OBAMA'S MILITANT RACISM REVEALED

In her senior thesis at Princeton, Michele Obama, the wife of Barack Obama stated that America was a nation founded on "crime and hatred'. Moreover, she stated that whites in America were 'ineradicably racist'. The 1985 thesis, titled 'Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community' was written under her maiden name, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson.

Michelle Obama stated in her thesis that to 'Whites at Princeton , it often seems as if, to them, she will always be Black first...' However, it was reported by a fellow black classmate, 'If those 'Whites at Princeton ' really saw Michelle as one who always would 'be Black first,' it seems that she gave them that impression'.

Most alarming is Michele Obama's use of the terms 'separationist' and 'integrationist' when describing the views of black people.

Mrs. Obama clearly identifies herself with a 'separationist' view of race.

'By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desperation of their situation and feel more hopeless about a resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.'

Obama writes that the path she chose by attending Princeton would likely lead to her 'further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.'

Michele Obama clearly has a chip on her shoulder.

Not only does she see separate black and white societies in America , but she elevates black over white in her world.

Here is another passage that is uncomfortable and ominous in meaning:

'There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost. '

What is Michelle Obama planning to do with her future resources if she's first lady that will elevate black over white in America ?

The following passage appears to be a call to arms for affirmative action policies that could be the hallmark of an Obama administration.

'Predominately white universities like Princeton are socially and academically designed to cater to the needs of the white students comprising the bulk of their enrollments.'

The conclusion of her thesis is alarming.

Michelle Obama's poll of black alumni concludes that other black students at Princeton do not share her obsession with blackness. But rather than celebrate, she is horrified that black alumni identify with our common American culture more than they value the color of their skin. 'I hoped that these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a certain level of identification with the black community. However, these findings do not support this possibility.'

Is it no wonder that most black alumni ignored her racist questionnaire? Only 89 students responded out of 400 who were asked for input.

Michelle Obama does not look into a crowd of Obama supporters and see Americans. She sees black people and white people eternally conflicted with one another.

The thesis provides a trove of Mrs. Obama's thoughts and world view seen through a race-based prism.

This is a very divisive view for a potential first lady that would do untold damage to race relations in this country in a Barack Obama administration.

Michelle Obama's intellectually refined racism should give all Americans pause for deep concern.

Now maybe she's changed, but she sure sounds like someone with an axe to grind with America . Will the press let Michelle get a free pass over her obviously racist comment about American whites? I am sure that it will.

PS: We paid for her scholarship.

Obama, the Darling of the Leftist Media

Folks, you ain't seen nothing yet as far as media fawning over Obama is concerned. Now since he is the apparent nominee for their party, the serious fawning, scraping and bowing will begin in earnest. They will squeeze in McCain in their reporting on occasion, but mostly in a negative light to make him look stupid or a Bush clone. They were unable to fawn enough over Gore and Kerry to get them elected, but this time they will go all out, come hell or high water, to get Obama and his racist wife into the White House. Unfortunately they might succeed in their endeavors. A lot of voters are uninformed or misinformed, and they just like a smooth talker who is promising them what they want to hear, (but will be unable to deliver). On one thing Obama will deliver, however. Hold on to you wallets, folks! In Obama's mind you have too much money, and he will rob you blind by excessive taxation for ill-conceived entitlements and welfare programs. If he gets his socialist medicine through, you will wait in line for 5 months for a simple doctor's appointment. Health care will be rationed. And you will suffer and you can do nothing about it,.

McCain

"John McCain is unable to talk spontaneously, and CANNOT EVEN READ FROM TELEPROMPTERS!!! "

You obviously haven't seen one of his impromptu town hall meetings. He is absolutely at ease and in command in these situations. You are right on one count though, game over. I want a President who knows how many states are in our union, and Obama doesn't.

Get comment on the thesis from Michelle Obama. I doubt we will see the press bring this to national light, since Obama has threatened anyone who doesn't "lay off" his wife. He said to "be careful" like a Chicago gangsta...............

Media coverage

In 2004 the media watchdogs observed that Sen. Kerry received about 75% positive coverage during the general election period. That is rather revealing about the willingness of the press to avoid the law. Under that law both sides are supposed to be equal.

Here and now we have had a similar situation. When Sen. McCain became the presumptive Republican Candidate the shift to coverage for the Republican side of the coin should have shifted to 50% and the remaining half to the Democrats. But, it didn't. The coverage (both positive and negative) was split three ways. Primarilly because both Democratic Candidates were also attacking the lone Republican Candidate; thus making the ratio lopsided; 15% positive for McCain and 16.5% each for a total of 33% positive for the Democrats.

Over the years of personal observation, one thing I noticed is that the amount of time or space given, by the media, to one side of an issue has an influence over the public choice in that issue. And, that amount doesn't have to be a lot. A few seconds of air time or fractions of column inches is all it takes to have that effect. Albiet, my observations were of a local nature, that was solely because I could see that effect, and, I lack resources to get much beyond my community area.

The white sheet press should be totally neutral in their reporting. It is the obligation of the media to report, not make, public opinion. They can express their opinion on the editorial pages and segments, but not in the stories. This expectation should apply to all media from USA Today and CNN to the Naples Record and Fox News.

McCain's Been Dating the Media

For all of the reports indicating Obama is getting more positive media coverage than McCain, I'd love to see some evaluations of how that reporting has broken down into positives and negatives SINCE JUNE 2008. I'll bet my next paycheck McCain is being treated more positively in the coverage he's receiving since the general election kicked off in earnest. Here's why:

Journalists really need to take a look in the mirror and detach themselves from this all-too-cozy relationship with McCain. This is neither good for their reputations nor for the democracy they serve.

Michelle's Thesis

That tirade on Michelle Obama's thesis is a bold-faced exercise in Conservative desperation and fear. It's a shallow, pathetic maneuver put forth by a shallow, pathetic movement. Not to mention your interpretation is way off base.
