Democrats May Drag Out Fight; Decision Time on Florida, Michigan Votes

RE: Dems May Drag ...

Well, if that's what democracy is about then let them fight to the finish line. That may be beneficial to the nominee at the end of the road. And I wouldn't be suprised if Hillary or Obama, for that case, ends up running as independent, just like Ralph Nader.

Count them!!!

The question is not whether to count the votes or not, it is "Are we a democracy or a banana republic?"

Why Does Clinton Thinks that she won Michigan

I live in Michigan and I wanted to vote for Obama. It doenst make any sence why Clinton considers herself a winner when no one else besides her was present on the Democratic ticket. I had to vote Republican because that was the only way to cast my vote since we all knew in Michigan that our vote was not going to be counted. The Democratic party should stick to the rules that they layed out from the begining and not count the votes, Otherwise we should have a revote in Michigan and Florida.

choose whom you will serve

war waging in our land , over eco, gas, food, ect. So you wonder why , we are a

broken nation . To make rules then break them, how can a person be trusted as Presdient. All vote do count if you go by the rules, If not the election is built on a lie.And we've had enough of that for eight years.

First of all, the 2.5 million democratic primary voters in Florida and Michigan should not be penalized because their state level leadership broke the rules that all had agreed to. They are not at fault in any way. The states party leadership should be penalized in some meaningful way. Yes, that would be much more difficult than voiding the votes cast by the rank and file Democrats in Florida and Michagan, but that is the right and only fair way to handle this issue.

Second, it is obvious that Hillary is a much more experienced and stronger candidate to run against McCain. Isn't the main objective of the primary process to pick the strongest candidate to run on the Democratic ticket?

Third, what is it that Democrats (or Republican's for that matter) don't like about the Clintons' years in the White House? Our nation had peace, prosperity, and the admiration/respect of the world community. Yes, throw me back into that brier patch. And what Bill Clinton did with an intern in the oval office was reprehensible. But compared to all that George W. Bush has done to our nation, without a serous challenge from either party in Congress, makes Bill's stupid indiscretion with a bimbo seem like a minor issue in comparison.

Florida & Michigan Should be Counted....

America has 50 states not 48. If we are true to democracy then we have to resolve this situation. Then again we have 2 states where gay marriage is legal so let's do the right thing & provide civil rights for all our citizens. :) For those who are uncomfortable with gay marriage check out our short produced to educate & defuse the controversy. It has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue: www.OUTTAKEonline.com

Decision Time in Fla.

The DNC made a decision that wasn't democratic, it wasn't in the best interest of the voters. And, why were people allowed to vote in the first place -- if they weren't planning on counting the votes?

The people of fl. were told that our democratic primary would not count because the date was set too early by a republican legislature. what a lot of mis informed pundits are not seeing here is that the agreement the candidates were forced to sign (no agreement, no party funding or backing for the election), did not even allow the candidates to answer questions from reporters from florida. to count the florida election now is tantamount to a repeat of the 2000 decision. some voted without meeting the candidates, many did not. it should also be re reported that the very rules that clitnon wants to change are covered by the fingerprints of people working in her campain right now. she never asserted that she disagreed with these same rules when they were created, only now that she needs them do these states voices seem to matter.

I look at what scott mcclellan is saying and i is not speaking of clinton. spin city lives.

Because the people who voted didn't make the rules

They should all still should be counted. This is America for cryin' out loud!

Exercise in futility

She knew and accepted the DNC decision but wants to change things when she needs the votes. 50% reflects the best the rulebook can offer and is what the Repuglicans did. Go with that and it is still very likely that Obama wins but I am pleading with the superdelegates to step in after the final primaries and finish this off decisively. Anything less and this harridan will take it to the convention and give McClame the election on a plate.

Hillary, mark my words. You are blackmailing the party by encouraging your supporters to withhold their votes or vote for McClame if you do not get the nomination. If you cause us to have four more years of Bush policies you will never ever be president and will be harried out of your senate seat as well. We will never forget and never forgive and will dedicate our cash and our efforts to finish your political career once and for all. Your place in political infamy will be established for all time.

Al Gore, you are the putative father of the democratic party. Now is the time to step forward and push ALL superdelegates to declare (one way or the other) within three days of the last primary vote. Use it or lose it has to be the mantra. Let's get this over with and move on to the general election.
