Wow, Sarah Burton! Aren't you talented? Summarize ten basically interesting facts from wikipedia, and compile it into a 10 things you didn't know list! What an article. Must have taken a lot of thought and effort. I don't know why US News isn't more popular. The quality of its writing is obviously top-par.

From the "tone" of the other responses, I do not wish to be associated with any of these other people. I responded civilly, and do not want to be associated with the trash talk here.
What I do know about Pawlenty
He is not John McCain's choice for VIce President.
This "blog" is already obsolete.
'It could be so much worse folks! Even with his liberal spendings Bush has done a pretty good job. People forget all that he had thrown at him...including all the political hacks in and out of the media.
In McCain we are getting another liberal conservative mix but with slightly better communication skills. '
Obviously he doesn't like either candidate. This is sad,a s each has its' positives.
Bush, on the other hand, has almost NO POSITIVES, and so Pawlenty's remarks are so off target as to be fanatical! Bush has done nothing FOR this country, and has done so much to degrade us in so many ways. Bad reputation, huge defecit, illegal war without end, violations of the Constitution all over the place, including the Privacy Act, which covered his own ass, and all the Signing Statements, which show his cowardice to Congress Opinion/Power.
I have many wonderful Baptist friends, and they all do social service for their community. Does Pawlenty believe as many other Baptists do? That being taking on responsibility for the poor, and needy? I'd feel more confident in his VPness if I could see evidence of his 'giving back' to his community at alrge.
Todays Dems are fools following fools
Its true, there is not much difference between your typical professional politician. This is not all that hard to figure out.
How would an Obama presidency handle all that was thrown at Bush?

In Obama we have a dangerous socialist without any experience, what can he base his decisions on?
Think about it he would have the communication skills, the house and senate, and a free pass from the C student media to help him pass whatever legislation his socialistic mind comes up with.
At least with Mc Cain we will have a senate, house and an ignorate press to keep him in check.
BUT Obama is the real nightmare scenario. He might be 10 times worse that Carter.

google the name.
1. Transportation funding: In the aftermath of the 35W bridge collapse, the Democratic-controlled Legislature overwhelmingly passed a bill replenishing the state's bare transportation coffers. Pawlenty vetoed the bill.
2. Gas taxes: Don't let anyone tell you Tim Pawlenty's not petty. The transportation funding bill he vetoed would have, among many other things, raised the tax on compressed natural gas 10 percent.
3. Who say our kids don't make great guinea pigs? Chemicals called pthalates used in children's products have been linked to deformities in lab animals. A flame retardant called DECA is linked to brain damage in mice. A bill championed by the nonprofit Healthy Legacy would have banned these groups statewide, as pthalates already are in Europe. Pawlenty vetoed it.
4. Rewarding banks for illegal and immoral lending: Minnesota, like the rest of the country, is reeling from a housing crisis brought about by unscrupulous mortgage lending. A bill that made it to the governor's desk would have given a one-year grace period to thousands of foreclosed homeowners. Pawlenty vetoed it.
5. Union organizing: Current federal law says when the majority of a workforce wishes to unionize, an employer can force a second, oftentimes hotly contested, second round of voting. Under the proposed Employee Free Choice Act, the unionizing wishes of a majority would be granted outright -- whether management likes it or not. Parroting a misleading industry line that the act would deprive workers of a secret ballot, Pawlenty nixed the bill.
6. The Medical Credit Score: A company called Healthcare Analytics is spending tens of million to create a medical credit score for patients like you. It plans to sell this score to health care providers and insurers. Attorney General Lori Swanson wrote legislation to bar hospitals and insurers from using such a score to determine how a patient gets treated. In vetoing the bill, Pawlenty claimed the language in the bill was vague.
And it gets worse. Do we really need another 4 years of GOP mismanagement?

FYI Obama was born in 1961. The War in Vietnam ended in 1975.By my reckoning he would have been 14 years old at the of the war. To my knowledge the US doesn't draft 14 year olds!
Pawlenty is not pro choice. He is a fallen away Catholic who converted to an evangelism. He currently belongs to a Baptist Church in Eden Praire, MN.
Pawlenty for VP
Is Pawlenty pro choice?

Pawlenty also spent as much time in the military as Joe Biden -- except that Biden did not dodge the draft like Biden did. Biden was draft age at the height of the Viet Nam war -- both before and after law school (when all deferments would have expired). Like Obama, Pawlenty came of age after the draft was over, so cannot be faulted for not electing to join. At least Pawlenty wants our military to win.

Tim Pawlenty as Possible McCain Veep
I'd love to see Sen. McCain choose Pawlenty as his running mate.As for Obama, the man can't even keep up with his lies, he's told so many. He has about as much business in the Whitehouse as my dead Granny. Obama hasn't fully answered any question posed to him by anyone since he announced his run for the Presidency. Pawlenty would be a good addition to the Whitehouse, regardless of how or where he got his education. I wonder how much of it was at the knee of people such as Rev. Wright and that yahoo, Pflaeger and Tony Rezko.
