In light of the Fort Hood TX shooting, maybe it would be prudent to do criminal background checks AND put the name of military people in a database when they purchase a gun.

Today, Senator Burr spoke on the Senate floor to discuss the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act. This legislation would prohibit VA from sending the names of veterans and other VA beneficiaries to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System - a government database used to deny individuals the ability to purchase a firearm - unless an appropriate judicial authority first makes the determination that these individuals pose a danger to themselves or others.

voting record

This man rubber stamps the Republican agenda. He is one of the top Republican senators voting the party line. More independent thinking is needed to represent the people of North Carolina by him or a more independently thinking person needs to be NC's senator.

Tennessee has a population of approximately 6 million people while NC has a population of approximatley 9 million people. I recently traveled from NC to Tennessee.I had the opportunity to compare the roads in both states. The Interstates in Tennessee were well cared for with excellent beltways. The Interstates in NC are in bad need of infrastructure repair and Raleigh, the capitol city, is paying for it's beltway with a toll road while the people of Tennessee ride on freeways. NC has the highest gasoline tax in the Southeast and a very high income tax while Tennessee has low gasoline tax, no state income tax, and a superior road system. Tennesseans are receiving a far greater share of federal tax dollars per citizen to support their road system than North

Carolinians. Their senators are serving their needs well while NC is subsidizing their ride.

It seems the people in NC are getting very little for their tax dollars in the way of infrastructure or representation from Senator Barr!

Senator Richard Burr - Vote the man out of office

As a NC Republican, I ask myself often how we got stuck with this do-nothing Senator. I want him gone: http://republicanagainstburr.blogspot.com/

What has he done of substance? NOTHING.

sen burr

this guy will go down in the books as a one time senator after selling out American taxpayers buy voting for the wall street bail out

Two more years , hear the foot steps, we will not forget.

McCain's running mate must be...

Condoleezza Rice. (There is no doubt about it.)

Rice is the most qualified for the post.
