To the officer who said no real repulican would be against the patriot act, you must not understand oneof the core principles of republicanism. It is limited government-- and that means the gov't should not be spying on it's citizens or keeoing track of the library books its citizens have read, or detaining it's citizens without just cause. You know-- all of that stuff in the Bill of Rights that imposes limits on governement.
So you must mean "no real neoconservative" would go against the disaster that has been this Bush Administration. Because this administration has betrayed all of the core republican prinicples. Try not to confuse the labels. For some the term Republican does still mean something other than what this administration, and its shills and synchophants, have twisted it into.
And are you also saying that because of how a fellow officer votes, his colleagues would ostracize him? Wow. That is some serious comraderie wherever it is that you serve.

I to am a republican and a Vietnam Veteran. I am tired of leadsers that get us into quagmires of wars that we don't have the determionation to win. wars from Korea to Vietnam to Iraq. Then they don't even want to give you the benefits they promised to Vets. they are continually trying to find ways to cut or eliminate your benefits. This country has become to divided and it's time we have a candidate that is asking for unity rather than division in this country.Obama is the only candidate that wants unity. Hillary and McCain are all for the same old failied party doctrines of the past. They chide him and say he is naieve when he wants to meet with leaders of countries that we disagree with but how can you resolve your differences unless you are willing to meet and find common ground.Reagan did this and it worked. But Obama is called naieve when he proposes it/Kinda makes you wonder where hillary and McCain are coming from. A candidate that refuses campaign contributions from special intests while hillary and Mcain not only take their contributions but have their lobiests that represent the most dispicable dictators and corporations as key members of their campaign staffs.

Obamacan plus election protection equals win
I am heartened by the possibility of uniting our country to solve the serious problems facing all Americans. Great ads, inspiring candidates, rational policy statements are not guaranteed to win elections. Please goggle the DVD's "Invisible Ballots" or "Hacking Democracy" for an eye opening expose of the dangers posed to our democracy by the widespread use of unaudited electronic voting machines.
Stalin's comment remains true today. It is not who votes that counts, but who counts the vote. Currently corrupt Republican aligned voting machine vendors design and implement the voting machines that generate our election results. It boggles my mind that the Democratic Party is not up in arms over this Republican home count advantage as we approach another presidential election. Lawyers on the ground after the fact have not overturned past questionable elections.
I hope that fair minded citizens of both parties will take courageous action to protect the process that protects us all. We cannot take back our government without taking back control of our elections. It is critical that voters call their representatives and demand that vote counts be audited in all states before vote totals are certified. Honest elections are not a partisan issue. The multinational robber barons, who would manipulate or steal elections have no loyalty to this country. They steal from all citizens regardless of party.

our commander in chief, Bush . that would allow his soldiers to do tour after tour in iraq,and then act like thier is nothing wrong or unfair about the mental and agonizing separation from family and friends ,is to me the real terrorist. and is void of reality and compassion. I will vote for obama for real change and to have a leader instead of a liar that cares nothing about his own citizens,except his cronies and friends. Mc Cain is just Bushes policies all over again.

No amount of smearing will remove Mcain's wrinkles. OBAMA!! Versus Mcain, Bush's second coming....L.A.N.D.S.L.I.D.E. for Obama unless America has a higher than estimated "we don't wanna improve" mentality. Also, if 99% of the police are conservative republicans...well they can convert, because Obama is going to win, so deal with it! :)

I do not understand the point attempted here- I get the racist undertones or blatency of it- but that is all. And it is certainly what the Obama camp would choose to transcend above.
