Vote Obama

What a blessing to come together as one America and vote tomorrow for our party rally around the one with the MOST votes, delegates popular and now super delegates. Let's start now and support the candidate in the lead. Shock America and stand up for our party.

There has been a lot of speculation as to why white-working-class-uneducated Americans are not voting for Obama. Most of the white people I see discussing the issue on TV are in my demographic of well educated professionals. We compete in a world where you either are smart enough to do the job or you're not. Race and sex have long ago ceased to matter. Well, since I was home over the weekend and I have relatives in that particular demographic, I asked.

The biggest concern they have with Obama is not trivial issues like flag pins or the Reverend Wright, the problem is affirmative action. They don't have a lot of education but they do have common sense and are not the total fools that the press make them out to be.

When you’re at the bottom of the economic and education scale, it’s hard to accept that you have to stand aside because there is someone less privileged than you. It’s hard to see your kids being passed over for scholarships because they don’t have an ethnic heritage. If you're poor and white, you don't ever get a free pass from having to do the hard, dangerous or dirty work. You either have to do the work or quit. The people on the low end are afraid that even more will be taken away from them and given to minorities.

Obama touched on these issues in the speach he gave on race relations, but he hasn't offered a convincing solution yet that will quell their fears. To win over the hearts of the poor whites, he has got to convince them that he will help their situation in live and not make it worse.

Let's Unite, Not Fight

Democrats Unite! Barack Obama is our best chance for a Democratic president in November and he is a person who knows what it is like to deal with polar opposites. That is why he is so good at uniting Democrats and Republicans in the Senate. People who view him a "polarizing" simply because he obtained the Black Vote have obviously overlooked the quadruple plus numbers of White Vote and Other votes he has obtained in every state so far. I find it interesting that if white person votes for a white candidate no one calls it "polarizing" or if women votes for a woman candidate or a man votes for a male candidate no one cries foul play.

I find it interesting, that even in my own family, a white man is voting for a white man, a white woman is voting for a white woman, and a biracial man is voting for a black man. Lucky for some of us in this country a white woman (me) is voting for a biracial/bicultural man. We are not voting on who we see in the mirror people we are voting for the next president of the United States. We need to Unite together and elect a leader who will represent all of us and I believe that Barack Obama is that candidate!

West Virginians

I sincerely hope that West Virginians turn out in droves and that they vote somewhere closer to 50/50 than "overwhelmingly" for Mrs. Clinton. If there's that great a difference I believe it will be seen by everyone in this country as an entire state refusing to vote for a black man. This country has fought a war and gone through extreme civil unrest during the 60's to settle this issue. It should not be present in our society today.

Hillary and 'experience'

I have been reading a lot regarding Hillary Clintons' 'experience'. I don't see it. The Health care initiative she, and her husband, presented as the darling of their program, failed miserably. Her handling of that issue polarized more then it unified. What else is there ? The unbelievable furor over Whitewater lasted forever and was never publicly settled. The humiliation heaped on her via Lewinski seemed not to faze her. So, what does matter ? Seems to be nothing, except a percieved god given right for the Clinton machine to attain the presidency once again. Now I am listening to the most demeaning racial overtones of all in her pleas for support in areas she portrays as 'white, blue collar, less educated, etc'. The people of West Virginia deserve better then that.

I prefer to focus on what Obama did not do. That is, he failed to pander toward future political positioning and voted not to authorize the debacle in Iraq. The invasion marked the bleakest most self -serving, cynical administration we have ever had in office. Our country will be recovering from this for decades.

I support the straight forward dialogue and solutions Obama suggets. It took courage to withstand the Bush,Cheney cabel when they were piling untruth on top of fabrication in order to justify the Iraq invasion. If integrity means anything at all,Obama stands head and shoulders above the Clinton 'old boy' miasma.

Voting for MYSELF

I a 45 year old female and have a strong affinity towards Hillary, but Obama is gonna get my vote this time. I strongly believe that voting for myself is my vote for Obama. I do not believe the Hillary or McCain care enough about this election to give either of them my vote, and I use their long-histories in politics to make this claim. They've each been in the Senate for some time now, and this country has systematically gone down hill. So, I'm not about to buy their rhetoric about how they're best for this country...They're saying this in order to divert attention from what neither of them has managed to do while in Washington. At least Obama, who hasn't been in Washington long, has managed to accomplish some 'across the aisle' legislation passing, and frankly, between McCain (who no one trusts anyone since he's now a 3rd term of GWB) and Hillary (who just voted for the war, period...and now wants to act like she didn't realize what she was voting for, yet everyone knew Cheney and Bush were planning this pre-911. Heck, I have never been a politician and frankly, I think most inexperienced people can do a better job than either Hillary or McCain. Barack Obama is like putting myself behind the desk in the White House. Making sure that the truth comes out about politics is all I care about and frankly, the man does tell the truth, at least compared to these other 2.

"In Fairness to Hillary"

Sharing this article with you to show how Hillary has been unfairly treated all this time. Democratic Party Wasington folks this time behave VERY BADLY! Read it yourselves -

Obama for a new America

There was a movie titled"Hombre" with actor Paul Newman. Paul Newman protrayed a mixed breed Indian who was forced into helping a group of White travellers whom had just been robbed by the towns Sheriff. The White travellers were also faced with one of the travellers attempting to escape with money he had stolen from an Indian Reservation. This group of travellers did not heed the warnings of Paul Newman about the perils of their situation and on several occasions tried to undermine his efforts to keep them all safe. People .....we are floating in space on this big blue ball together. We are spending way too much time fighting against each other. This experience of life deserves to be enjoyed and cherished. My love for life and prosperity is the same as most of us .

Please, let us see thru the years of our ignorance about this journey that we are all travelling on.

This Island Earth is in need of us to love it in return for this precious gift.

Hillary

With West Virginia and Ketucky, Hillary could show the super delegates that she is not finished. We know so much about this woman. What do we know about Obama? What is his health care plan? Do we really know? We do know that Hillary wants every citizen to have health insurance. Let's all have the same health insurance that Congress has.

Hillar can win in November. I really believe that.

Obama-WV

It would be nice if fellow "blue collar" white folks (I hate the term blue collar by the way) could show the rest of the country that those of us in West Virginia will not be seen by everyone else as uneducated bigots. I am becoming rather embarrassed by the media portrayal of my state as the last bastion of hope for Clinton because we are full of blue collar bigotted white people. Good people live here and plenty of us can vote for a man or woman of any ethnicity. My hope lies with the new generation of young people who appear to move beyond the stale attitudes of our grandparents.
